A friend gave me their Hulu and Disney Plus credentials so I’ve been watching a lot of stuff. I watched the Mandalorian of course. Love me some Star Wars anything.
I started watching a show called the outsiders on Hulu which is about Kentucky mountain people I think. It’s like a fued to keep their hill vs the evil coal industry. It was great but the show went in directions that sort of turned me off to it.
I like to watch sitcoms before bed and have been watching Young & Hungry on Netflix.
I finally got around to watching Psycho Goreman and was pleasantly surprised. This oddball movie is definitely my favourite of the year so far.
If you have a soft spot for weird 80s movies, then you will love this. It is also drowning in 80s style and references: From D&D, lashings of practical effects (from NeverEnding Story style creatures to melting wax visuals) and well aware of baffling forced morality as well as the obligatory musical interlude.
I decided to watch The Curse of La Llorona after it was recommended to me. Sadly it was the most predictable, dull and illogical horror I’ve seen in a while (and I make it my duty to watch some utter drivel) - I managed to stick with it for 30 minutes and gave up.
A kids cartoon could have done a better job at horror, so that’s exactly what I chose to watch instead:
(I seem to have Ghostbusters on the brain this week, probably comes from having an argument with a fridge).
I got around to watching the new Suicide Squad last night and was greeted with an enjoyable romp. Admittedly the bar was set so low by other DC movies that a cockroach would struggle to get under it but, it’s a decent middle of the road action adventure.
At times I felt it was an adulterated derivative of Deadpool and was going R to try and be edgy but James Gunn’s quirky style kept it going.
Oh, and it contains what is probably Sylvester Stallone’s finest performance.
I love Elvis Presley!! mostly cuz my father did. My dad and mom both died from lung related disease from smoking. I wish I could’ve got them vaping but it was far too late for them by the time vaping came around. …
lol! I have been watching Tweaker hunter’s on you Tube!!!
This is good!! Baahaaa! These guys drive around to all the Tweakers give them edibles and ask them "what are you smoking? Crack or tweak? Then give them big giant doughnuts I cant believe this is a thing!!
Last night I opted for Terrifier as my bedtime movie and I wasn’t disappointed.
I did have some trepidation over whether this would be generic torture porn fair (I imagined something as dire as Hostel 3) but I was instead greeted with a gloriously macabre and twisted treat.
If you love your 80’s horror, then this is definitely for you. But, you may never look at mimes the same again.
