Il Donaldo Trumpo: I don’t think I know their work.

Well, tonight will be Verotika as many claimed it is the worst horror movie ever. Personally I think these reviewers haven’t seen enough bad horror but we’ll see - I class Blood Gnome as my benchmark for assessing poor horror from and The Witches of East Dick for porn spoofs: If you fall a sleep during a porn, then it is really falling short.

Well Verotika is certainly poorly shot, with bad edits and awful sound but not the worst I’ve seen.

The three stories go from worst to best: The first may be drawing on one of Shelley’s fever dreams of nipples as eyes (though I could be reading a fine point in horror history), and the last is clearly inspired by the legends of Elizabeth Bathory (The Blood Countess). I was told that the film is supposedly based on a graphic novel and the second story really felt like it was trying to emulate frames from one: Though the constant J. J. Abrams lens flare was distracting.

Definitely only a movie for horror completionists.

I dabbled in weed for a bit, the company I ordered from sent me 1 gummy and I figured 1 gummy, eat it all right? Well, I think it was like 100-150mg which is not a beginner’s dose. So I ate it and spent the next several hours thinking I was going to die… After that I went to throw a frozen pizza in the oven for 400 minutes at 15-20F

Thats a lot for me even, If i go over 80mg i keep some CBD around in case it was too much.

I watched Lock-Out last night and I can say that it’s good mindless fun if you’re blind drunk or stoned - Sadly I wasn’t quite there when I watched it.

Some of the characters are fun and it certainly has a Michael Bay feel to it, maybe The Rock but with more Scotsmen would be a good analogy. It also has many clear links to Carpenter’s Escape films, so much so that it lost a lawsuit to him.

If you’re looking for logic, you will not find it here. There is a one point where I actually said ‘How the fuck does that work?’ out loud. Also, it will treat you like a child in the first 25 minutes by confusing ‘show not tell’ with ‘show and tell’ - I really needed text to tell me that we were in Washington D.C more than once, especially when the shot is flying over the White House. I lost count of the times there was text to show the location more than once.

It really felt that they tried to cobble the movie together in the cutting room to get a PG-13: As it is disjointed at times and tries to throw in far too many plotlines.

If you want a better fun action film in a similar style, watch The Rock again.

I liked Lockout.
The Rock? Not so much.
Not a Sean Connery fan.

I’ve always liked watching his movies in order to try and guess the accent he is using each time.

Just finished this. Good, not great, over-the-top Roland Emmerich flick. Nice little mind-break from current events.

I wonder how many will actually get this one.

Wifey mentioned that her students are learning dodgeball and she stared at me blankly when I mentioned the 5 rules of the game. So, I know what tonight’s movie is:

I have to admit, the first time a saw it, there was a momentary delay, as it sank in.

Then I almost launched coffee out of my nose.
