Thanks for that, obviously if someone is more used to more mainstream, From Beyond et al isn’t the best fit for @TimWV.
Using August Rush as staging-point, It’s better to gently introduce cosmic influence as a gateway into cosmic horror prior to throwing him into the utter madness and glory of B-movies.
I think The Adjustment Bureau would be a great one to start with:
And, maybe go light on horror but with full-on in B-movie madness with Big Trouble in Little China:
Oh, the big internal joke is that Jack is the moron in his own story.
Both of these are personal favourites which I watch at least once a year.
Just watched the first few episodes of “Inspector Lewis” on Britbox. Finding it enjoyable. Very good “who dun it” storylines, the characters are well written and well acted.
Whenever I watch any of those I’ve always wondered what makes Oxford such a hotbox for murderers?
I wouldn’t want to live there or the fictional Midsomer as that little village seems to boast more than their fair share of murderers too.
Doubt if there’s anyone left in Midsomer by now as they’ve either all banged up or have been murdered.
Well, it is definitely not the human mind: consciousness is a delayed reaction to what has already happened in order to keep up the pretence that you are actually in charge. Oddly the more active you are, the more out of control you are: sportspeople cannot possibly perform most of the things they do through conscious thought. It’s one of the few things about the body, brain and mind which is generally agreed upon.
Well, last night was the Adjustment Bureau and Baskin: As I have covered the former a bit recently and the latter with full a full review - I’d suggest only watching Baskin if the trailer makes you feel ‘Fuck a hamster with an elephant - I must see this’.
My wife got me into these as they’ve people popular in China after the Japanese went mental over even more extreme versions of cuteness with miniature cooking.
