What do you really hate? (II)

Hey man, those protestors had fuzzy hats and no guns, they were so dangerous the 3 security guards there opened up the bike racks so they could walk into the unlocked building and raise some hell…

The sixties were bad and those who didn’t live through them have no fucking clue how bad it was. Look up how many bombings were done then. Look at the riots across the country then. The kids today are rank amateurs when it comes to burning and looting.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2022/11/10/diesel-energy-biden-economy/

Inventories of diesel in the United States are the lowest they have been heading into winter in 70 years

In the southeast, a major national supplier of diesel, Mansfield Energy, recently declared a “Code Red,” warning that some terminals were running out of fuel, forcing supply trucks to divert elsewhere.

As of Friday, October 14, the U.S. had 25.4 days of diesel supply left in storage, according to data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA).

For the past two years, amid pandemic closures and climate pledges promising to invest more in renewable, green energies, refineries in the U.S. have significantly reduced their capacity—leading to less diesel produced in the country.

Diesel is used in farming, construction, heating and transportation, with trains, trucks and ships all running on it.

“The economy runs on diesel,” said Cinquegrana. “Think about everything you buy in the store, it got there by trains and trucks. Construction, etc. High diesel prices could slow economic activity down. Prices have come down from the all-time highs in mid-June, but not enough to ease concerns.”

The diesel is coming back. For the last month most of the major refiners have been shut down for maintenance. Some are behind schedule coming back on line. The largest US refiner (Saudi Aramco) was two weeks behind on maintenance and recently returned to production. They refine 600,000 barrel 's a day of mostly diesel and aviation fuel.
I would be more concerned with the NIMBY people stopping pipelines coming thru the mountains going to the East coast.

No oil flows eastbound in Canada. Not by pipe or rail. @Joel and @ladycrooks live in the oil rich western province (state) and pay no provincial taxes. They ship some of that oil through the US, all the way to the Gulf of Mexico

Well the 30% reduction in fertilizer is going to hurt crops as well and we get a biproduct for diesel from Corn so it’ll be an interesting upcoming year or so…

That was the start of the movement for de-institutionalization. Reagan really pushed it ahead in California in the 70’s and nationally in the 80’s. As they closed and folks were moved in to the community there was supposed to be funding for quality community health centers and quality group living situations. What happened is they moved many folks out of institutions but did NOT provide funding at the level that was promised. Very sad.
