Actually I was in my car going home from work.
They said the winds we had were up to 90 mph.
I saw a Frito Lay semi on its side.

I’m not sure how high the wind gusts got out here, but I can tell you, I was keeping an eye out on the tall trees, as it was howling, and almost approaching freight train status.

I’ve had all of mine (diabetic type 2) and I’ve had no ill effects whatsoever. I had covid two years ago and luckily came through with no lasting effects that I know of.

There is so much hypocrisy like you are saying, one rule for themselves but the rest of us are branded racist if we should dare mutter the same words. I think that some people forget that the U.K. is inherently a white country and if they want to see more people of their own race in power etc then they know what to do. You don’t go into someone else’s house expecting to be able to take over and tell them what to do in their own home.

He could have painted a picture of an immigrant family fleeing the madness in what became Pakistan and he as a son of immigrants working his way all the way up to become minister of justice in a white country.
That would have been a great, maybe even heroic story but no, we have to whine about being a minority where ever we go.
Minorities have to rule else it is racist. It’s all about equity, diversity and inclusivity 
I was once verbally attacked by a coloured woman in our communal vegetable garden.
She called me a racist because I told her little daughter that she should not be playing with our spade.
It was a little big for her and it’s our spade so our responsibility. Also lunch break was over and we needed it.
She wanted to know if the Dutch had taken over the country 
There were some students helping us out so there was a little bit of an over representation of whites in our diverse ghetto, in her eyes anyway.
I don’t even have words for something like that.
Those people don’t do other immigrants much of a favour. They might think they do, but they don’t.

WTF does that have to do with racism, no doubt she would have had a go at you if her little girl had hurt herself with your spade. We can’t do right for doing wrong these days and the P.C brigade has done nothing except fan the flames making it impossible to say or do the right thing without offending someone. In 1983 riots broke out in Miami. As is normal in US riots, there were fires, lootings and murder (you have to admit, we are pretty good at it). It went on for days in the Liberty City area and the cops couldn’t/wouldn’t stop it. On the third or fourth day, a bunch of good ol’ boys showed up in pickup trucks with rifles. They stopped it that day. Just saying. As long as we let the stupid and weak run the country then we get stupid shit. Every now and then the strong have to come in and clean shit up.

Oh, I better add NI to my annoyances for this week: 25 years after the Good Friday Agreement and for most of that time this kindergarten hasn’t had a working assembly. Countless murderers, terrorists and mass murders were pardoned and many files were sealed in order to make peace but for those we reclassified as politicians act like toddlers.
As countless friends and family have been caught up in bombings, with my own father surviving 2 IRA bombs, many are just sick and tired of people whinging about positions and titles while those who suffered from the past, those in NI who cannot have operations, need to challenge policy or seek recourse are beyond tired. And through all this, a full salary, stipend and expenses is drawn by those who are doing nothing: You are an abomination, especially as you twist religion to support your arguments but do not care in a Christian manner for anyone other than yourselves!
It was cathartic to get that off my chest.
