Having a fascinating collection of articles and dissertations to go through. It may sound dull to others but having my heretical arse correcting pre-ordained priests on the correct use of dogma and tentative language, as well as all sides on Covid - pro, anti, social studies, trainee nurses etc - led to a fun day of polite correction.

Tuba…how can you not smile when you hear a tuba?

The passion Levon has when singing this just blows me away every time I see it.

Starting the day with a wizardly breakfast: Hickory smoked back bacon, with Applewood cheese and a duck egg, in a buttered and roasted muffin.

@SquirrelSmash What exactly, if you don’t mind me asking, makes a breakfast “wizardly”

I think the sage and telling the possessed fridge to behave.

My current home is entertaining in its eccentricities.

edit: Though lacks the utter madness of the one I was born and grew up in.

Oh I just accept what happens as an acceptable working reality and progress from there.

After being bombed, blasted and crushed a few times: little shocks me. So shadow people, flickering lights and objects moving just makes me firmly state ‘Behave’,

A classic song from a classic Band. Thanks for this post. I brings back fond music memories.

Took my 13 year old to a high school football game. He’s never been to a game and I haven’t been to a game since 97. We made a 1.5 hour drive to watch the top two teams, both undefeated, play. It was well worth the effort. What a wonderful thing to do. You don’t see this type of involvement and enthusiasm at the high school level in many places in the world…at least I haven’t.

To top it off, it was Homecoming and they crowned the King and Queen!

Then to add to the excitement, just as the two teams lined up for the 2nd half kickoff, four guys dressed in body suits and masks ran onto the field between the two teams. One then grabbed the teed up football and they all took off back the way they came. At least half a dozen people were chasing them. Three of them made it off the field, over a fence into the woods. The fourth was tackled by a cop and taken away. I suspect that delaying a high school football game in Georgia is a felony.

This is the stuff I missed the most about the US.

Unfortunately, the game was a blowout as the #1 team took names and kicked ass.

A bit of karmic repayment: The postman came up to me during my walk and gave me my nicotine order.

Shadow people = Imagination
Flickering lights = Poor electrical supply and
Objects moving = Gravity

IMHO at least. The real world is crazy enough for me!

You are lacking a few logical dismissal steps:

Shadow people = hypnagogic hallucinations which fall in blind spots.
Flickering Lights: Atmospheric variance when the power supply is firm.
Objects moving: The natural state of free-fall doesn’t tend to operate in reverse of standard Newtonian laws.

I am a sceptic.

Shall I charge at my standard rate for bullet point corrections?
