WHAT Has Made You Smile Today? (II)

Ok, I’ll bite. What was the terrible mistake - that you hung around for a year (or 6), or that you made at least post w/in that time?

A relaxing stroll in the park. Although, I did have to break up a fight between distant relatives, see the damage from a stroppy elf, and fell into a timeslip - bloody Mondays.

My mistake was my 1st mix thinking like a food recipe, I wanted equal parts. Embarrassingly mixed (All TFA) Mango, Guava, Pineapple @ 5%. It was unfixable. The pineapple was like razor blades to the throat, and the Guava reminded me of Gwyneth’s candle

‘the Guava reminded me of Gwyneth’s candle’. That gives me ideas: This Vape Tastes Like My Beard.

@SquirrelSmash, but first, TFA Guava (while it should be used at FLV %s) and tastes good, has a terrible pussycat urine odour to others. Here’s a pic of that candle.

I know it all too well. I class it as marketing fluff - as the original scent is not offered for comparison Though, getting past her cult would be as tiring as getting Huel ‘users’ to see that they’re living on gruel, if I wanted a benchmark sample.

Having a good start with my odd advent calendars: Green tea with cinnamon, pomegrante, ginger, cardamom, clove, nutmeg and pepper along with a tasty bite of Applewood cheese.

This wasn’t taken today or even yesterday, it was about a week/week and a half ago…

I was browsing my photos while waiting for her to get ready for school and this one made my heart melt (like it did when I saw it and snapped the photo) and it brought a smile to my face.

He isn’t her bio father but he is definitely Daddy! She spends so much of her time being angry with her bio father because… reasons… so many reasons!

Sigh… He… ugh… let’s just say that there are legitimate reasons why I left him and fought so hard for custody as soon as I realized leaving her with him (regardless how noble my intentions were) was NOT in her best interest, despite the fact that I’m so very tight on money.

Her DADDY MORE than makes up for her bio father’s shortcomings. DADDY is there for her when she needs him. He plays computer games with her, both her choice and his. He willingly has real conversations with her, about things that matter… and those that don’t. He is firm when needed but gentle all the same.

She gets to witness how a real man treats a woman he cares about. How a good couple will work out any issues they have, together, calmly and rationally, without pointing fingers, screaming, slamming doors, and throwing things.

She gets to live life in a home where everyone cares about one another. One where everyone is completely honest with each other about everything, no matter how awkward or uncomfortable. (with careful wording for certain subjects, of course :grimacing:) A place where everyone’s opinions are asked for and considered and they all have weight, including hers.

I am a lucky woman to have such a great little family. I need to remind myself of these things, when I’m in the low swing of my depressive cycle. It may help…I think

THAT is what made me smile today… how about you?

An even finer cheesy treat. This has to mean that tomorrow will be some abominion with fruit in it.

Having to highlight that a guide on academic writing lacked cohesion in its paragraph on cohesion. Oh, and getting cheese without bits in it.

The best example of failing to proofread that I have seen in a long time: mixing up phycologists and psychologists. Although, I had to agree with the student in their view that the algae experts weren’t needed during the pre-assessment of the patient.

Maybe the phycologist was consulting with the psychologist with regard to a very troubled algae to find the best option for therapy. :upside_down_face:

yeah, been trying to justify taking them for myself… The only thing I have to go by is my brother’s wife claims to be allergic to garlic and onions, but I’ve seen her on a few occasions eating, teriyaki stir fry, Poutine and Pizza… That shit’s got onions and garlic - So I figure I might hold onto them, but then I know it’s just her excuse to not eat my mom’s cooking.
