´What is it they all have in common?

Hi there,

I’m trying to clone Space Jam Galactica for a colleague since she liked it when i vaped it in the office so she wants it for her husband to smell it at home as well.
I’ve started just with different strawberries and champagne and now I’m trying to get the creamy parts right. I may have to start a help thread eventually but this is not my problem right now.
I have 4 bottles original commercial liquid. Unicorn milk, mothers milk, one hit wonder milk man and space jam galactica. All 4 seem to have one smell in common. It is a creamy, round, slightly pungent sweet flavor which i haven’t had in any of my diy juices yet. (Smell from the bottle, not the vape) I don’t know how to describe it any better than this, i hope you know what i mean.
I first thought it was vanillin. I had a hint of that smell in a mix of 4% vanilla and 1% vanillin in a tobacco vanilla mix but there was something still missing.
I recently found a clone recipe here on the site. It was just one flavour plus a ridiculous amount of sucralose sweetener. 10% flavour and 15% sweetener if i remember correctly. According to the comments it seems to be spot on so i was wondering if it could be that?
I’m sure this must have been discussed before, i found a few topics but nothing that would really explain it.
So is it an ingredient or a combination of a few? or is it not that simple and it’s just a recipe which is well balanced and the flavor combinations do the trick? I doubt that somehow. I think some of the commercial juices (especially these hyped ones) work with “dirty tricks”.
Any ideas? Or am i completely wrong and just don’t have the nose to mix something nice up myself with what i have? At the end of the day i am still a beginner when it comes to diy.
Thanks!

Commercial juices are sometimes filled with sucralose , and we here at elr are trying to sweeten without its use with other things including sweet flaves also their percentages are pretty high , i think alot of us try to create the best flavor with smaller percentage

This was the best I could do for times sake for a friend when it initially came out. My friend liked it, said it was better. I only tried his bottle and did what I could, it’s worth a try and maybe you can tweak it if you choose.

I’ve seen that one and haven’t tried it because i don’t have all the flavors. There is no champagne in this recipe at all, is it still working? Champagne and strawberry are the only flavors in galactica i thought i clearly identified.

I’m going to mix a few recipes tonight to see what high sweetener levels will do to the smell I am looking for from these commercial juices. I’m not going to use the bottle of sucralose anyway. Just bought it with one of my first orders because it was in so many recipes. Marshmallow works fine so far and so many flavors are very sweet anyway.

Does anybody know what CAP Super sweet is made from? Is it just a higher concentration of sucralose? Stupidly bought a bottle of that stuff, too…

I haven’t found any space jam galactica clones on the recipe site but the other three all use Bavarian Cream, most of them anyway. Bavarian cream does have a very particular smell so maybe that’s the creamy smell you’re after.

Good idea, I have FW bavarian cream and the TPA version. Giving it a go together with some vanillas and sweet creams.
I’ll post a link to my stash when I’m back on a proper computer so you can have a look.

.Could that smell be a caramelized scent? I find that commercial juices with lots of sweeteners tend to become that way after the first or second tank I could fill it and watch the carmel color swirl through it.

Here’s a link to my stash, I’m open to recommendations on what to try. I hope it’s working.

Oh and the 2 MF flavours haven’t arrived yet, they should be in the post.

most sucralose is 10pct it is my belief theirs is 20

I can’t really help a lot in finding a good clone in this area, I’m a tobacco gal and not a big fan of fruity flavours or the hundreds of mothers milk and unicorn milk recipes floating around :grinning:
I just saw your question and looked at the recipes around and saw the common denominator in those was Bavarian cream, so I thought it’d be a good place to start for your mystery cream part.
If that’s not it, there’s another cream that has a bit of a pungent smell, FA’s Catalan cream, I see you haven’t got that in your stash but maybe you could get some in the future when you place another order, as I’m sure you will definitely place more orders for more flavours, I mean don’t we all :smiling_imp:

Thanks a lot, any input is appreciated. I must admit, after many years of mtl with one liquid only I got curious about the sub ohm stuff and ran into that unicorn milk corner as well, the milky creamy strawberry was just great. None of the other flavors i tried in the first few months worked as well with the creams as strawberry did. Now i barely taste the TPA ripe strawberry anymore if i use it as an ADV.

Anyway, I’ll try to mix a few test recipes with bavarian cream, fresh cream, maybe custards/vanillas and whatever great idea i will have. And i really want to try a few mixes with a lot of sucralose to see what it does to that creamy flavor I think some of the commercial ones have in common.

Go for it, you might come up with something a lot better than any commercial juice you’ve had, you wouldn’t be the first :relaxed:
