What is Pink Starburst to You!

I agree even thou it states it on the wrapper I still get more than SB out of it hee hee. It’s the best flavor !

You made a good point Z I should look further into more artificial SB flavorings.

OOO has both pink and red starburst. Very good IMHO and very strong even 1% added to the NWF will surely add to the flavor

I like that idea too. And I’m in need of some OOO Creamy milky undertone so why not give it a shot. Thank you

Have you nailed down a milk blend for cereal mixes? I have not tried their milking undertone is it good?

I generally don’t do a lot of cereal mixes but to answer your question I love their cream (milky undertone ) I use the vg version but that is up to you it comes either way. If I had to buy one 1 of their products that would be it. It is clean and yes some what like the title it bears a slight milk undertone nothing overboard like you may get from malted or from dairy this is the essence that there is something milky in the mix. Hope this helps I have used it for a while now and it does get a lil more pronounce with a few weeks of steeping but I don’t get a glass of Milk from it if that helps.

Thanks Amy. Ill give it a go but i just re upped a ton OOO flaves and got dinged 96$ by customs (im in Canada) remember to keep the ooo pink starburst low I mixed my first batch at 15% and it was black within one month :frowning: i think its suggested at 3-5%

Holy cow you said the mix turned black in a month what the heck is in that ??? I hope your kidden. On their stuff I go with less is more bc their suggested ratios are always to high too me. I like creamy milky around 2-4% in a mix.

@Amy2
What about adding a very small amount of Ecto Cooler to the strawberry shisha to give you that sharp citrus note that sits in the background?

I don’t see why not I have sb shisha and ecto cooler ! On to pink starburst 4 hee hee

I have found that adding 0.5% or less of the Ecto cooler gives a sort of citric peel flavour which I suspect when mixed with the SSB, which has an almost candy like element to it, will give you that slight citrus taste you were describing.
Have to say I love the SSB!
I have no doubt you will crack this one Amy and when you do I will be mixing a batch up! Hmmmmmmmm!

hee hee you guys have mad faith in me. I only had ecto cooler natural which is the one that doesn’t have corn syrup in it surprisingly. I will keep ya posted. I also got OOO pink candy and will try out it with some variations. stay tuned.

Alrighty troopers i’m back to report some potentially promising mixes ( I hope  )

I worked on these w/ @Beaufort_Batches in collaboration of flavorings as well as you guys with tips and tricks I said I’d share when I finally nailed something more promising down.

Ok Here is one I like right off the bat as a shake n vape These are view only d/t steeping/ WIP but a share is a share right !

Pink square II

This one pushes all my buttons for what pink Starburst means/ taste like to me. Creamy sweet tangy and a bit of SB ( like the wrapper says lol ) but then I get a lil citrus and watermelon as well !

Then I tried V5 pink starburst V4 didn’t make the cut sorry !

It will most likely be a steeper the taste right up front is more cream and when you turn up the temps it gets better more flavor can be tasted throughout the spectrum of profiles and yes salt water taffy ( that was a BB’s recommendation and it certainly is a good one as a mixer )

pink starburst 5

Anyhow I am going to let these 2 steep for a week and see who gets to win the prize of being posted !!

Oh and the Max dew also a recommendation of BB was the magic key ecto was too off there is a note in that one that kept derailing me so super happy with the new addition of it to the mix ! Here’s hoping they will be even better in a week so far my favorite is the pink square II but we’ll see what a week will do to them :sunny:

Do you have FLV Bing Cherry? It’s pretty spot on Red Starburst by itself. Although in my recipe I’ve added 0.5% Pyure for sweetness 1 drop/15ml. Cactus for the juiciness starburst is known for. The only thing it’s missing, after tasting the candy and vaping at the same time, is the tartness… So I’m thinking I’ll finally have to go ahead and order some FA sour today.

I do have it. I have a quandary …I have a red starburst recipe that is really mislabeled and should have cherry in it when it has SB in it. I will rework it so I add bing cherry and I’ll fix my problem. Yes the sour and the addition of max dew ( mines vg based ) but I am guessing any knock off mountain dew flavor would do to get those citrus notes !

I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how much bing cherry tastes like red starburst. If you have the time you might want to make your single concentrate mix of bing cherry as well subbing out the strawberry in your previous mix. I arrived at the percents that I did by making 17ml of just bing as a single, vaping about a ml, added pyure to make it more candy-like, vaped a ml and ate some of the candy, noticed it was missing the juiciness of the candy, and added the cactus for that, although I’ll probably see if I can get away with 2 drops per 30 ml in V2 (Starbursts slogan it that it’s “Unexplainably Juicy” after all). Unfortunately I’ve never really messed around with any sour additives before as I’ve read too much about citric and malic acid muting flavors over time and not actually really being very sour. I’ve only read a couple reviews about FA Sour, as it’s release perhaps got lost in the Nonna’s Cake hype, but what I have read has been positive as far as actually imparting a sour flavor which leads me to believe that they might be using something different…here’s hoping anyway! After I get my sour in I’ll post my results in this thread (got it bookmarked now)

My thought in this would be adding a tiny bit of Inw Cherry(0.15%) to give is that ‘‘cheek tart’’ pink starburst has to some candy strawberry aka tfa strawberry or sweet strawberry Cap and maybe lighten it up with a % or 2 of vanilla swirl tfa . My two cents!!

The " unexplainably juicy " slogan sure fits , @Beaufort_Batches and I had a discussion over Pink Starburst and it being subjective. My fiance’ swears pink starburst is basically pink lemonade and cream and that’s what he gets every time…while I get hints of SB and Watermelon , cream and sour citrus notes. For now I am happy with pink square II and the pink starburst v5 I want to see what a week does for them.

I will fix the red starburst and sub in Bing cherry as it’s an awesome flavor. I have not experienced any of my batches that have had sour or citrus really going bad but then again I typically don’t have such a large quantity of something as I make batches often and they will steep at least a month a lot of them. Anyway good to know to keep an eye on them in case it should start to be a problem. SO @therealDR-GONZO you suggest starting off bing cherry at 0.5% I will drop SB from the recipe and try plugging in the Bing Cherry in it’s place. & @Ohm_Sweet_Ohm I will try out the INW cherry in there also I like that idea. Actually I think I will use reg SB TFA that’s a pretty pliable flavor maybe at 2% kinda tones down the sickly sweetness of the cherries.

I actually never listed the starting percentage that I used for FLV Bing Cherry, but I started at 4%, the 0.5 was Pyure, sorry for the confusion.

As far as the Pink Starburst goes you got me thinking about a pink starburst recipie that I saved a while back and never made due to not having FW Ruby Red Grapefruit, its a Gremlin DIY “leak”, leaked by gremlin themselves on r/DIY_Ejuice.It’s

FW Sweet Tart 3.4%

TFA Strawberry ripe 10%

TFA Sweet Cream 5%

FW Ruby Red Grapefruit 1.6%

He also mentions that this recipe was released for sale and is popular enough that gremlin wouldnt be changing it due to its popularity but if that wasn’t the case he would try to use INW Grapefruit or FLV Pink Guava for the grapefruit and CAP Whipped Cream in place of TFA Sweet Cream… If you want to check out the post search Pink Starburst+GremlinDIY, and that should bring it right up in the results.

I went a head and used 0.4 % bing and 0.2% INW cherry with a SB TFA for rounding and added in some citrus and some sour with cream I’ll remember to up it should it need it. I have never used it above 1% but then again I thought it was plentiful at that %. At least I know you’ve used it up that high and maybe should it need it I may dare to go above the 1% mark

I made a recipe adaption to that gremlin’s leak it was good too !

Pink Burst

Ingredient %
pink burst northwest 4
Pink Guava (Flavorah) 0.5
Strawberry (Ripe) (TPA) 6
Sweet and Tart (TPA) 2
Whipped Cream (CAP) 2

Flavor total: 14.5%

I have everything to make your adaptation, I’ll be trying that out in a little bit and, maybe a variation with your combination of INW Strawberry Shisha + RF Strawberry from your strawberry milkshake recipie. I really love those two strawberries together + 0.25% INW Strawberry, just to round it out a little bit more and make it that much more heavenly.
