I eat those all the time… they are a strawberry (candy not natural) and cream with a hint of artificial vanilla and a kinda waxy flavour I cant quite describe,
I eat them too but everyone always seems to have their own flavor profile some say watermelon some say strawberry. Even thou they say strawberry on the wrapper I still at times get watermelon and citrus with cream.
Crazy how subjective things are. I’ve made this juice a billion times it seems and depending how I feel that day I will either love it or hate it which leads me to putting it to rest for now. I’ve gone off my quest of the pink starburst and will maybe revisit it another day. I literally have like 5 or 6 versions which most I really like but can’t say one is better than the other lol.
It’s funny how differently we all interpret the taste of things… Ive never gotten a citrus or watermelon from it but I have weird taste buds im one of those people that thinks cilantro tastes like soap
I know that this was a chat from a while ago, and I don’t know how I got here, lol! I don’t want to sound dumb, and super late to the party. But, I just purchased the pink candy burst type from Real Flavors and have it steeping. It smells perfect!
Nah it’s all good ! I tried the Pink Burst RF Candy and I think it’s great. It misses some key points of the candy for me for instance it is silky sweet and creamy love that but it needs a shot of citrus like key lime or a citrus orange at low micro mixer %s like a drop or two at best to just give the tang that I get from Starburst. The thing is , is we all have different experiences and what Starburst is to me will most likely not be the same thing it is to you. You may never of thought or felt there is a citrus tang in there ( example )
I’d love to hear how your batches come along feel free to post away right here !
Lol, ok, I figured that you had tried it, but just in case, I thought I would put it out there. It makes sense what you are saying. That what the taste is to you is totally different than what it is to me. I think that I haven’t quit cigarettes long enough to taste all of these tiny little flavor notes yet. In time, hopefully.
I have been making a lot of the amazing recipes people have created. And I am surprised at what can happen with mixing together a few flavors, pg/vg and nicotine, and put it away for a while, or even vape it right away!! It’s all still a bit magical to me! I am not really making my own recipes yet. There is one I am working on, but it is hard!! I come back to it now and then. I think that I have all of the flavors, but not in the correct amounts. I am also trying to learn more about each flavor, like the way all of the different creams taste. And what adding marshmallow or merangue does to a recipe. Basically, the common threads I see running through many of the recipes, I am trying to understand them, and why someone would use this flavor over that flavor. I hope that makes sense. Just kind of figuring out the very basic levels of building flavors.
Because you are so successful at this, I would like to know your opinion, if I can ask. What do you do when you have a brand new flavor? What method do you use to figure out it’s properties and taste and how you can use it?
I think I am going to whip this one up and tell ya what I think! (as far as the starburst part, not critique your abilities, hehe)
The issue I am having now, is a large amount of my flavors, are approaching their 2+ year mark! I haven’t noticed that big of a dip in potency, but it’s still there nonetheless. I would have to win the powerball to replace all my damn flavors in my stash!!
When I get a new flavor I smell it decide what I think about it good or bad. Then depending on what I’ve read about it I’ll try it stand alone ( on its own) usually around 8 % see if it’s too weak too strong or just right. Is it tasty in snV or does it need a steep. These are some of the things I do when testing a new flavor.
THAT is a wonderful thing to know! Thank you! I actually wasn’t sure if what I have been doing is correct. But I usually mix up a little sample bottle of my flavors based on the average single flavor use. I vape it, and see what it tastes like. And all of my little single flavor bottles are fun to play around with. For example, I can add rough amounts of the flavors from a recipe to see if I like it, before mixing it. I try flavor combinations by adding a few drops of different things in my tank and taking notes. So, you actually made me feel a lot better about how I am doing things. Thank you for your kind advice! I really appreciate it! I noticed that you are one of the really talented people here (constantly coming out with new recipes and flavor mixes I would not have connected) and very active in the forums. I am so appreciative of your advice!
Ya got me thinkin about starbursts now! You know I love my candy vapes!
Been looking around and what everyone is doing, and I think I have something that may just work… How did adding pink guava work for the Pink Starburst recipe? Did it make it closer or a different monster all together?
I love the FLV Pink Guava but it is very recognizable and has it’s own place in recipes.
And as far as TPA Ripe Strawberry, is this still the closest strawberry for a pink starburst? I know it tends to lean more towards a real strawberry, but is it still what you would throw in if you were aiming for accuracy in comparison to the real thing?
Thank you very sweet of you to say. Wouldn’t say I’m all that talented just keep at it no matter how many times I fall off. lol Stubborn as all get out that is true.
Yes once you get a good baseline of the new flavor and what its all about then you have more confidence in using it in other areas slowly but surely getting more and more complexed in your mixing style.
I originally used ppl’s thought’s and ideas bounced this topic off ppl and after a while of talking w/ others I wrote this recipe.
AND Guess what I accidentally named it Red Starburst lol meant to name it Pink Starburst whatever I never changed it
I can’t remember what or if I had used the Pink Guava in the mix and if I did I’d feel like I woulda remembered he hee it’s so dang potent and it like you said has it’s own place and add it’s own thang to a recipe. For me if I used Pink Guava FLV in a Pink Starburst it’d have to be like a 50 ml batch since I can get a very clear distinction that it is in a batch a mile a way at 1 drop per 10 mls so in order to decrease that sensitivity toward it I’d have to raise the batch size up to decrease its potency and mute it to fall to the background if you attempted to use it in a smaller batch size it’d just eat up all the other flavors kill em dead quick !!!
I find that if I were to pair it w/ a strawberry it would still be a sweet SB instead of ripe because ripe is so in your face SB and pink starburst is more of an enigma flavor …do ya know what I mean …you ponder
what is this flavor…non descript PINK flavor.
To me FLV SB the original one has this creamy strawberry essence about it that is just perfect for candy flavors. It’s strong so I don’t go overboard w/ it but that is still my go to SB in a candy profile.
I think you have to be stubborn in order to this!! Lol! I have made a lot of mistakes, mostly before joining this forum. I have learned so much in short time I have been here!! I still have a lonnnnnng way to go. But, I am going to stick with it!
Come on, only a serious mixing genious has a craftsman tool box to store their mixing supplies! (I will be forever jeoulous while I continue to rearrange my series of boxes and Tupperware! Lol!).
Its so cool that you actually were able to take the pink starburst flavor and use it in a recipe to get all of those flavor notes you wanted! I am definitely going to mix this up and see what my old smoker’s tastebuds notice! Thanks!!
Your welcome ! Hey just give it a lil while mine were rusty for around 6 months didn’t taste things that spectacular then things started picking up and I tasted things better and better. I can make a recipe under 3% ( certain flavors mind you ) and be able to taste them completely crystal clear and that is w/ mixing max vg which is known to decrease the clarity of a mix because it does not carry the flavor as well as pg…but point is you will have an improved taste as your buds heal !
That is what this forum is known for plenty of help and advice
