What is your best (real & tasty) Yogurt

Hi all, need your help - and maybe if you can share experiences getting to a really tasty “Yogurt” base.

i saw couple of threads about Yogurt here & on Reddit, still can’t get to the bottom of this elusive one. what is the best yogurt flavor (or base) that provides flavor that is closest to the real, plain, tangy & sour yogurt that we ate as children - some of our mothers made it at home, for some they maybe still do

i know yogurt is a different thing for different people. i tried 3 so far

TPA Greek Yogurt: i get no yogurt flavor from it up to 10% (4, 6, 8…and so on) … more like a slightly sour cream - smells nothing like yogurt. i tried 3 different bottles from different shipment (first thing suspected it was a bad one)

CAP Creamy Yogurt: slighly closer to fruit yogurt or a “yogurty cream” not real yogurt - again tried different ratios up to 10% … still weak. doesn’t smell like yogurt to me too

HiLIQ Yogurt: this one smells like classic yogurt… but… taste is not where i need. no tanginess

(ok, a confession to make, my baseline yogurt is the note you get from Kilo Kiberry Yogurt)

I plan to order FA Yoghurt next - i’m suspecting maybe what i’m really seeking for few months now and 10’s of test mixes, is a mix of Yogurt and something that adds the sour/tangy notes

really appreciate your advice here - before i go on a yogurt flavor buy spree and end with a set back… what’s your best / recommended Yogurt flavor (Real, classic, …etc) and what’s your best yogurt base you tried (or mixed)

cheers
TVS

A little to sour for me but is a true yogurt taste

I have the RF SC Yogurt flavor in the testing queue but no idea when I might get around to testing it. It will be my first yogurt flavor.

@jhmiller, thank you . i tried most of the “highly voted” yogurt recipes here… with the brands i have. sorry to say, they don’t taste like the yogurt i’m seeking. it’s been very elusive, but thanks.

so far the closest i came was to mix 4% of HiLiq yogurt with 2-3% of CAP CY. has the smell but it’s still a different note. i also tried adding a sour fruit at 1% (like orange, grapefruit, even variety of lemons)… nop!

@Fozzy71, pls share what you find.

something i just remembered, if you tried BR’s Mango Yogurt ice cream (the real Mango Yogurt), you then know that elusive yogurt profile i’m searching for

I find adding LB cream and LB fresh cream really helps a yogurt mix. 0.5% of each. Or maybe my new favorite cream Nic vapes version(untested with yogurts). I also add 1-2% ooo milky undertone. As for the best yogurt flavors. FW kinda waxy, Cap creamy- good but subtle. TFA- adds tanginess. FA has an odd note somewhat chemically,waxy- okay at 0.5% FLV same as FA stronger off note okay at 0.25% My favorite is German flavors Yoghurt by far the best at 4-5% range but pricey. RF has yogurt this i did not know and will add it to my next order. Have been considering adding 0.25% RF SC cheesecake to a yogurt mix as it has a tangy sour note.

FA Yogurt is good and it’s strong, if you don’t like it, I don’t know what else to say.

this confirms my research so far. FA seems to be the one. i’m adding both FA and FLV yogurt to my next order.
it also seems the right yogurt base, while having the correct yogurt flavor makes a big difference, is also about some supporting creams in there at specific %'s.

for example, i found a (promising) new clone recipe of (my favorite) kiberry yogurt that has this base for the yogurt / cream side, research continues…
3% Yogurt [FA]
2% Vanilla Bean Ice Cream [TFA]
2% Vanilla Custard [FA]
1% Vienna Cream [FA]
2% Caramel [FA]

I’d try that with FA Yogurt at half that percentage first, maybe even 1% because it is really strong.

Yeah, was gonna suggest the FA yogurt as well. It’s the only one I’ve tried that actually has that tangy taste. I went for probably a month or two of strictly vaping this mixed with different fruits so i kind of burned myself out on it. Lol. I hope it works for ya, good luck!

thanks … yeah will do that

@netweight, thanks …

So FA Yogurt top of the shopping list. Any specific feedback on FLV Yogurt? should i skip it completely if i go with FA? mind you i already have the 3 other brands i mentioned…

Flavorah Greek Yogurt is good stuff too, I don’t know how to say it best other than I like them equally well but unless you try them both only you will ever know for yourself. You may like it better or you may not but to me, they are both good.
