I typically almost never take any Cinnamon Danish over 0.5% especially TPA as the cinnamon can get really overpowering. The TPA Apple Pie can be good but it needs to be over 6% to gain anything from it.
Here’s an Apple Pie that I did for an episode of Wayne’s DIYorDie Mid Week Critique a few years ago. It was supposed to be an Apple Tart but as Tim (AAFL) stated it isn’t really a tart but a hell of a good Apple Pie.
FA Fuji is perfect for this apple pie in place of VT Granny Smith which is just as juicy but has more of a tartness.

I was trying the cinnamon danish as it’s new to to me. I wanted to see what it did with the apple pie as I’ve used it a lot before. I had also just been doing lots of Acetyl Pyrazine experimenting right before this and was trying to get a bit less of it in this mix overall by replacing some of the pie. But I think you’re right. The Danish didn’t add enough to make it worth the effort, it seems it might even be detracting from the recipe. A lesson for next time.
I’ve only used it in one other recipe at 3% !!! It was the main bakery element and didn’t seem overpowering, but I only tried a few ml and maybe I had some vape tongue going on that day or something. I might open that bottle up again tomorrow and have another assessment of the cinnamon flavour based on what I’m tasting with this mix and what yours saying.
Thanks for the input team, you’re all so helpful. I’m not going to bother developing this specific recipe any further but it’s all learning. Plus I got some good new flavours and recipes for the next time I want to make a pie.

As noted by Rocky in his reply to you, the flavor database is open-ended, a policy the website owner chose to go with. So when new users sign up and begin building recipes, it is beyond our control how they choose to enter flavor names.
You truly have no idea of the time and effort that has been put in, by several members here, to get it where there’s some semblance of order! So being “overly pedantic” is sometimes necessary for the sake of the database.
If you want to share your recipes with other users then it behooves you to follow the naming conventions, as outlined in Creating Your Flavor Stash. If not,
then you can make your recipes private. BTW, I’ve identified at least 10 flavors in your stash in need of corrections. Just holler if you need help.

Are we still talking about “Fizzy Pop” or “Fizz Pop”?
I understand you want to stand up for Rocky, and that’s cool—I have no issues with him. My point was just that I was referring to a single flavor, whether it’s called “fizzy,” “fizz,” or “fizz flavor.” The few people who were involved in that specific conversation understood what I meant as a newbie. Honestly, how many “Fizz” concentrates are there anyway?
This website has definitely been a mix of help and confusion for me, but that’s just part of the learning process.
I’m always open to guidance and appreciate any help I can get regarding flavor notes and profiles.

Pretty sure I had more than 10 invalid flavors in my stash when I first started out, LOL.
I would take him up on that, we don’t see @TorturedZen as much as we would like to but the work he has done behind the scenes is much appreciated! And he helped me out so much when I first started and asked for nothing in return
Those of us working behind the scenes here (moderators / dupe checkers) knew this was going to be a thankless job when we signed up, but I am going to tell you all now, don’t be rude about it and take up my time

@RandomlyAssigned there are a LOT of different approaches to Apple Pies, and when they’re different, or use different supporting flavors, it’s interesting to see.

I’ve not made a lot of Apple Pies, but I do love them. I’d never tried to use CAP CDS in one, so that’s an interesting approach I wouldn’t have thought to try.

@RandomlyAssigned I think you should totally keep going with the Apple Pie. It sucks, BUT, guess what, if you find out what DOESN’T work, it’s almost as important as what DOES work.
I found you approach very interesting, because it was different than mine, which doesn’t make either right or wrong, but you tried some flavors/combos that I wouldn’t have thought of, and that’s interesting.
I’m fairly limited in my Apple Pies, and only have a few, and they’re very similar, so I just found something that worked, or worked well enough, called it, and moved on to other recipes. Wish I had time to better develop and really try different versions/iterations.
Clearly I like the FLV Apple Filling/ FA Apple Pie combo, and PUR Country Apple does also work well here.

@Statichamber my read on the whole thing is @TorturedZen has spent more time in “the trenches” trying to clean up the database, than probably anyone else, and it’s been a massive, ongoing mission, with never ending “mission creep”. I honestly don’t know, how he did, as much as he did.
I personally saw countless, countless times where TZ would hop in, and try and offer help/guidance to new/newer mixers, or even more seasoned mixers with flavor naming errors, simply, “Hey, you’ve got a couple of borked flavors, here’s the correct ones, and that way MORE people can find your recipes, mix them, and share them”. And sometimes, he got total shit responses from people.
It’s been, and I’m sure IS, a thankless job. So believe me when I say this, TZ takes NO JOY in bringing up flavor naming issues, hehe, believe me.
Here’s something to think about. I even screw up flavor names !!! I’ll get new flavors in, sometimes from new MFG’s and even I am not sure on correct spellings, MFG abbreviations. It it can happen to me, it can happen to ANYONE.
I don’t care HOW many times TZ has to hook me up with corrections, but I’m glad he’s got my six.

@Statichamber I don’t mean to steamroll on this convo, but you just hit on the BIG POINT, and it is important. You get a shit load of help on ELR, no doubt, AND, there WILL BE a shit load of confusion, but what’s cool, is even WITH the confusion, you’re still going to get, you guessed it, a shit load of help !!!
