In the recipe there’s a yin yang type of action with the Vanilla Cream Cookie Filling and Dutch chocolate. The creams seem to cancel (mute) any cake flavor. It leaves the Dutch chocolate as a creamy milk chocolate. The opposite work well tougher.
Yes apples definitely pair well with tobaccos. I have several pipe tobacco recipes that incorporate apple. And a little bit of tobacco or RY4 in a apple pie can give it a bit of a baked feel.
Depends on how high you push it. Chocolate deutsch develops into more of a cake if pushed high. I believe over 3% it becomes more cakey. At lower % (under 2) it stays more of a Swiss chocolate.
Dutch or Deutsch? These two words, although similar in sound, have decidedly different meanings, and come from two different languages, English and German.
Deutsch means from Germany (in German language; their country is called Deutschland, land of Germans)
Dutch is something else; means Hollandish (Netherlandish). Netherlands is not a country known for its chocolate, like neighboring Belgium and couple of others (and Dutch chocolate means nothing, except maybe to Dutch :).
You all are lucky. I get a nasty coconut offnote out of Chocolate Deutsch and really can’t use it even at 0.5%; which is weird since their Sweet Coconut is great and Coconut FLV is not bad either (it seems companies use that coconut chemical mainly in coco bakeries; Nomz has a few such offenders, SSA and INW are also not immune to that).
chocolate dosen’t keep me up but man does it ever cause vivid dreams
and usually not the good kind, i think its the theobromine, or something like that anyways
Okay, This is a test recipe that I mixed up a couple weeks ago. I’m just posting cuz I’m mind-blown right now how much the flavor has changed with steep. I can actually taste a savory pie crust now. Before I got this sort of raw dough taste and it was pretty nasty. I didn’t have much hope for this, but I just tried it now and wow. I can actually taste a savory pie crust flavor.
On a side note the mix keeps going from cloudy to clear, but mostly staying cloudy.
What is Tres Leches cake taste?! Been looking at Kings Crest e liquids today after seeing it mentioned previously. I am wondering if it contains cinnamon? Something I try to avoid! Quite fancy ordering one. Over here in UK the shortfills we can only purchase nicotine free and then add the nic shots, so for a 100ml bottle u can have either 1.5mg or 3mg. I’ve noticed in US the salt nic levels are way higher than here. Our highest choice is 10ml in 20mg! We r lighter ex smokers it seems
Got two new SSA melon flavors in and they absolutely rock. Threw together a quick mix and it turned out fantastic. I think it’s worth a share.
@Cornish_Holly Tres Leches is a milky cake dessert. I’ve had it (IRL) 3 times, in 3 different countries, and only once do I really remember cinnamon (Mexican version). It wasn’t in the cake or the frosting, but more sprinkled on top as a garnish. I liked it more with the cinnamon. It took the dessert from good to great. Not sure exactly how it would translate into an e liquid, but I’m assuming it would be good. I’d start with a dolce de leche flavor and work from there. TPA and SSA make decent ones, and a search showed that FW makes a Tres Leches aroma, but I can’t say how good that one is.
@IggyZ thanks for the info. I wasn’t going to attempt to make one however was wondering about buying the shortfill by King’s Crest specifically the one in above photo but wasnt wanting to get it if there was even a hint of cinnamon!! Good to know you are well travelled however
Talking of shortfills, I ordered and received the Cream Team Buttercream and left it 2 weeks plus after adding the 1 nic shot. I noticed the e liquid bottle had no batch number and no expiry date its all left blank. This was from a company online that I hadnt used before and not direct from Monster Vape labs who make it for uk. Is it possible that the off taste is because its out of date? Its got quite a nasty taste to it, nothing sweet at all. In fact it leaves a bit of a burnt over flavoured after taste? Not sure what else to try as have used new coils and broken in coils and it isnt pleasant at all. Felt quite gutted. It was also on a heavy discounted price, which all the out of date liquids are on but this didnt mention ood. Thanks. Sorry bit of a newbie with shortfills.
I get my butter cream from Ohm City. It’s Monster vape labs and Kings Crest collab. Did you add sweetener? In a mesh rebuildable I get straight vanilla cake frosting, but on an rda with dual ni80 aliens I get vanilla ice and a slight nuttiness, maybe butter pecan and white cake. I don’t get burned. What are you vaping it in?
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I saw Ohm City did a vast range but didn’t think they shipped to the UK. I only found the Monster Vape Labs website after i ordered mine from e cig clouds! The freebie Neopolitan one is almost 2 years past the expiry date which makes me wonder if the buttercream is the same! I didn’t add anything apart from the salt nic shots which i always use that brand so know they are fine from Darkstar. Am using a oxva vprime dtl 0.2 and also tried in the 0.4 which was even worse. Other shortfills have had decent flavour with this kit.
Am actually trying to decide about treating myself to the Vapours cloud Ascent kit. Read some good things about excellent flavour and compact for a dual battery device.
I certainly didnt get any of the flavours you mentioned. Just a whiff of a vague burnt cake taste!!!
@Cornish_Holly IggyZ pretty much described it. Let me add a couple of points. The King’s Crest Duchess Reserve does not have cinnamon. Tres Leche cakes are, as you can guess, a Spanish type dessert. Condensed milk is a common ingredient in these type cakes:
Tres Leches cake, meaning “three milks” in Spanish, is a sponge cake soaked in a mixture of condensed milk, evaporated milk, and whole milk or heavy cream, resulting in a moist and rich dessert.
@Cornish_Holly
my mom has a jar of tres leche made in quebec i think and to me it tastes and looks pretty much like caramel. im not sure if thats how it supposed to taste
I’ve had Tres Leches quite a few times since moving to the south. I’ve also made quite a few myself, I usually make myself a lemon flavored Tres Leche for my birthday every year. A traditional Tres Leches does has a bit of a caramel/butterscotch flavor to it depending if the Condesed milk is cooked prior to soaking the sponge.
