And speaking of your buck… any US currency note weighs 1gram. It’s a good fast way of telling if your scale is calibrated darn close enough!

When using the lb501 with the ac adapter plugged in, cut off time is determined by when your finger hits the on/off button.

Just to balance the 501 cult, the cheap 50gx.001 are really nice if you do mostly 10 and 30ml
They cost peanuts and the cutoff is not a problem in practice.

Really cool but how do you fill at that level of precision? I use pipettes and the drops are between .02 & .03 mg

Just because you have the extra precision does not mean you have to use it. A drop from an fa bottle is typically between 15 to 22 milligramme. This would hopefully register as a .01 or .02 on the .01 precision scale. That said, if the milligramme scale says .019, and you want .2, you know you are close enough. On the other scales, you just have to guess whether you need some more or not.

An easy way to check your scale is a nickel (coin) weighs exactly 5 grams. Assuming you don’t have any calibration weights.

Bouncing on that ( but not on the scales, not good for them, even for rabbits) you don’t need a calibrated scale, but you want it as linear as possible. If it is consistently off, you’ll just have slightly more or slightly less in your bottle, but in the right proportions.

Liquid mixtures are best measured on precision scales designed for chemical laboratories. But these scales are quite expensive, so it is worth looking at alternatives. I have been using these scales for a long time Best Smart Scale | Bathroom Scale | Weight Scale and for a good reason. I can say with confidence that they show accurate data. Moreover, the synchronization with your phone helps to analyze the data when you are away from home. This is actually a very useful feature.
