What Ya Vaping/Mixing Today? 2023

I hope you have a good day too @muth

Well flavour perception does change with age. This leads to favouring simple sweet and sour tastes. As many of the old guard of vapers fall into this bracket, there can be effects which run from it.

Sadly, my bald, greying and flabby frame still has teenage sensitivities to taste and childlike ones for hearing. It can be annoying but comes in useful for instant debunking of EVPs.

@muth I’ve tried that one more than once, but never MTL’d it.

@muth, @SquirrelSmash, the same could be said for flavors. Just because I love a flavor, or use it for a certain purpose, doesn’t always guarantee the same results for everyone else, in all mixes, across all equipment.

Indeed,

I think I did nod to idiosyncratic variance regarding taste but, I could have been clearer.

Getting there on one of the more pipey of the pipe blends: many wouldn’t consider going to 84/16 PG/VG.

I really like the fermented and sour flavor of kimchi, anything tangy really. I also like the Italian bitter vegetable dishes of broccoli rabe and dandelion. It must be either an acquired taste or in your DNA because most people I know can’t tolerate them.

@muth I absolutely adore those vegetables and other similar flavors, broccoli rabe being a favorite, I also love Belgium endive braised in chicken stock with fennel and onions

Well, I grew to hate kimchi after having it almost twice a day for a year. But when I left Korea, I missed it and became obsessed with all the varieties and recipes. It also improved my gut health massively.

These days, thinly sliced marinaded beef, a selection of kimchi and veg, finished with pan burnt rice with a raw egg mixed in is a really tempting meal.

That sounds like a tasty aromatic mix.

I am one of those that can’t tolerate any bitter tastes, or any combination of sweet with sour/savoury flavours. In real foods, this translates to detesting things like sweet and sour Chinese dishes, lemon or apricot chicken and even curry dishes that have fruit in them.

For vaping, my taste buds prefer stronger flavouring and simple recipes. That said, I vape mainly custards, creams and cheescakes so I don’t have a large repertoire to speak of.

It is and in the spring I love adding ramps and prosciutto ham and a pinch of nutmeg

Whatever floats your boat…doesn’t matter as long as it satisfies your hunger for cigarettes. I have been known to shoot whipped cream straight down from the can. I love my creams too.

I’d just as well have a bologna sandwich, I like everything it seems :slightly_smiling_face: it’s no wonder I had to have Gastric Bypass surgery

I have never (ever) even contemplated getting whipped cream out of a can! Always use fresh cream and whip it ourselves here. Like you say though, whatever floats your boat.

No, it’s called lazy convenience. Of course I would prefer fresh whipped!

After a much anticipated 21 day steep, I opened a bottle of Butterscotch Tiramisu I mixed , carefully changed coils, cotton, and did a deep clean of my RDA only to discover I mixed up a batch of burning hair, scorched cabbage, and stagnant pond water!
:face_vomiting:   :rage:

Now it’s time to figure out why it didn’t work. It’s a great time to get a learning experience.
Did I use too many flavors? Did I keep my recipe as simple as I could have and got better results?

Post the recipe…As you mix more and more you will be able to Vape the liquid right away and more than likely be able to tell if its worth putting away to see how it developes…Steeping doesnt make a bad recipe better , it will make a good recipe better in most cases.
