I think however, most times you need a waffle, maple will work right along with it, i.e. Waffle Cone, etc.

That’s what I mean. When I think of a waffle (cone or not), I’m not thinking of it coming with any toppings (like maple). I’ve been looking for a long time for a good waffle but I still don’t have any because of it. The last couple months I just gave up looking.

Maybe it’s a cultural thing in the US or Canada. We’ve been making waffles in Belgium for hundreds of years and it’s only the last 2 decades or so that maple is readily available in shops. Many people here like waffles as they are, no toppings needed, that’s just for the tourists

I think you might be right. You guys know the waffles !!! For my palate and uses, butter/maple would always be welcome.

I am one of the unfortunate ones that gets that corn chip (branded Fritos here) vibe at any % with AP. It’s a shame because the intended profile is something I really enjoy. It just does not come through as nutty to me. That’s something that always saddened me.
