An old friend from the ‘upstairs apartment’ in Houston…
Time goes by, and wine gets better with age.
So many friends from that piss hole dive, before we migrated to the ‘Austin scene’…

Robin Trower will be in Nashville,TN on April 8 , it pains me deeply that I cannot attend.
He’s one of my favorites, and he’s still putting out some really good stuff. I just checked out his tour dates and he’s coming to Detroit (Royal Oak) on May 7th. I’m going to have to check my schedule.
Same here. Had to choose Robin or Ian Anderson/J Tull in April. Ian won out.
Too many artist coming here in April ( Chick Corea, Ry Cooder, Neil Young, etc. )
and too little money!
“the Flute is a heavy metal instrument” I always smile when I think of Jethro Tull and the ad the manager placed when people bitched about the band winning a Grammy for best Hard Rock , Metal performance.
I still don’t know what genre they fit because they fit several and they fit them all well.
That is one impressive list coming to town! Decisions-decisions…
If you have a device that can use apps get one called “Bands in Town”. It is free and it will show anyone and everyone coming to your area.I live in a small rural town but it shows bands coming to the big arena’s and the small venues as well.
It is hard to miss big concerts as they are promoted well , the app is most useful in finding the Legends and unknown artists that now play the clubs and auditoriums.
Sounds like a worthwhile app. Unfortunately my phone is almost as old as the music I like (flip phone)…lol.
Sounds good, I’ll check it out.
I work part-time in downtown Nashville, so hear of most who are playing in town.
Some nice smaller clubs here, where the ‘older’ artist who are still touring.
3rd & Lindsley, City Winery, Exit/In are some of my favorites.
PTX Mary, did you know
Lest we not forget the Orchid…or B.B.'s blues club…eh?
Or the street musicians in the summer, or Baker’s on Mt Juliet rd, or…
You are right on. I just named a few that I enjoy. List is long here.
I work around the corner from Public Square Park and look forward every year
to ‘Live on the Green’.
The list IS long around Nashville, and it extends for 100’s of miles in all directions from here. There is so much music in these hills. I lived/played in Austin for some time, great music environment, and always migrated back to this area. For several years when my neighbor lived here [bass player for the house band at the opry] I hung out backstage at the Opry most Saturday nights. I panhandled the best of the best, and anyone else, for our animal rescue org, and without them, the famous, elite, and dinosaurs that passed through those doors, many animals would never have had a forever home. I rarely play anymore, hell, I never leave the house…but this area has been very good to me and my mental frame. The angelic and melodic chords just continue to play on, whether I strike a note or not. For that, many are blessed.
Yudkin on fiddle…yes sir
