Mine too, for today, though I have to say realistically my favourite PF album is whatever I feel like at any given time and mood !

High Hopes has always been a fav of mine. I tend to tear up with the steel guitar part at 5:04 in this one… absolutely perfect… beautiful!

imho most underrated PF member was Rick Wright though

Gilmour is so good at emoting through his guitar which is what, to me at least, makes him one of the greatest guitar players of all time. For me it’s not elite technical skill or wicked complexity that makes a guitar player someone I want to listen to over and over. Anyway I put him at the top of a category shared by the likes of Mark Knopfler and, yes…Prince.

I don’t know how I ever missed this. Is it something Gilmour does often or is this a first? I’ve never seen him or Floyd in concert which I consider one of my greatest failings in life since Floyd was the first band I truly fell in love with and have loved since childhood.

My fave Gilmour work apart from Floyd is the album On an Island -

First time I have ever seen him do it. I never managed to see him or floyd. I saw a tribute band called the Aussie pink flowed who were incredible.

Seen YouTubes of them myself and you’re right, they’re very good. Without searching it out - saw one of them where the stage production rivals that of genuine Floyd. I would go see them if they were around here but afraid it would feel like committing adultery

Ha ha yea there were moments where if you shut your eyes it might even be the real thing. Part from the tiny venue! I saw Gary more at the same place and that was incredible

Here’s another of him playing Purple Rain… if you can get past Tom Jones
