What's your ADV, and why?

Sorry if this has been posted before. If so, maybe a new thread woukdn’t be a bad idea. As a newbie, learning what people’s ADV is, and the reasons why is really helpful to me. Unfortunately most of the recipes in the database arent rated and I’m sure there are some awesome ones in there.

When I ask why I mean what is the flavour profile of it, the subtle notes, the mouthfeel, the sweetness level (me luvz sweet). How long has it been your ADV?

Also if you can link the recipe, great, if not could you give a short breakdown of whats in it? Would be of inestimable worth to me as a noob.

Thanks in advance, and don’t be shy

Great way to get tried and tested recipes, I like your approach. :+1: This was my ADV for a long time, really good in the summer

@UrsusArctis I’ve had a main ADV for over 8 years, but there are others that cycle in and out. It revolves around 2 blueberries, graham crust, 2 creams and a custard. I don’t know why I’m still on it after all these years, but it’s just good.

As far as trying to advise YOU, it can be impossible, as what’s good for me, may NOT be good for you.

What profiles, are you attracted to currently. What do you hate ??

The profile is a creamy blueberry, with graham. Creamy, nice mouthfeel, semi-sweet, and non-fatiguing.

Hi @SessionDrummer ,

“As far as trying to advise YOU, it can be impossible, as what’s good for me, may NOT be good for you.”

That’s just it, I am so new at this that I don’t know what I like and dislike and by checking out what other people like, it gives me ideas so that I can try for myself, without totally stabbing in the dark.

So far I like fruit very much. Sweet/really sweet and tangy. Haven’t really found anything as tangy/sour as I’d like and supposedly that is one profile that can’t be replicated or not easily?

Just getting into the bakery type. Liking them as well. One I’m vaping at the moment is called “galactic” by Planetary Labs" it says: bakery, dessert, marshmallow, no cooling. It’s good but my tongue gets like sandpaper after like 8-9 hits. Another one I really really like is Blue Bomb Razz by Flavour Beast. Amazing!

Still vaping some commercial juices while I wait for my supplies to arrive. I’ve made a few like mango/pineapple and Sweet and Tart (by Rocky).

Just doing a lot of research atm and getting some ideas together.

What could be a good substitute for Golden PA @Grubby? I have about 8 of them and we’re not best friends.

That’s an interesting question, the PA gives the mix a nice tang and plays well with the SS and koolada, you could try Flavorah watermelon at 1.5%

I think banana could be good too

@Grubby

Can I use WS-23 instead of Koolada?

@UrsusArctis well sadly, you’ve got to at least try and figure out at least main profiles, or flavors that you like (or dislike).

Don’t look at it as if you’ve got to deep dive into SPECIFIC recipes, but maybe larger scope, like, do you like Bakeries, Custards, Fruits, Tobaccos, etc. Then THAT, can help you better focus on specifics.

Are there any recipes that you’ve tried, that you like ?

What are you vaping currently ?

Sure, maybe 1% would be good

This is my ADV, the main notes are vanilla, cream and cookie, which all come through. It’s been my adv since I created it a year and a half ago. I always have this loaded in an rda and then a couple more that I created also tag along in another atty. This is very moorish, decadent and sweet. I created a one shot for it and make 500 mls at a time.

No no no, sorry, i meant which other pineapple could be a good sub for Golden Cap. I have few other pineapples, i like some of them, but never really gave them a fair chance with all these flavors; i might actually start loving them (and i need to start using them more, lol).

@Mikser while not a direct replacement, do you have VTA Sugarloaf ?

My bad, have you got FLV pineapple? Or Inawera? Can’t remember which one but one of those has a similar tang effect, try FLV at around 1.5% and inawera at 3%

Sure i do. I usually have top 5 best rated flavors on Noted / DX.
I like it, but not love it (yet); on its own it never convinced me to the point i would scream, Yeah baby. But i might give it another chance, especially if in a company with some other PA.

I like INW, i’ll try with that one. Of better rated i also have Sugarloaf, Thai PA SSA, PA (Ripe) SSA and i think Funky MB. Thx Grubby.

Well the Sugarloaf will favor some recipes over others, due to it’s very bright and punchy nature. I use CAP’s a lot, but it works better with help IMO.

That might pair pretty good. The mid and heavier notes from the INW would work good with the brighter notes in the VTA.

Thx. will give it a try. 1% Sugarloaf, 2% INW.

Thanks @Lynda_Marie !

I’ve had my eye on this one for a while. I plan on making it once I get the flavors!!
