Hi all! Need help. Here is a pic of the mod, the rda and the two diff type coils I have: which coil will give me the better flavor out of the two types and ohmage. Or would it be better for me to just make my own using wire. I have 26 gauge Wire Optim N80 wire. If so then what ohmage am I looking for (even better, how many 3mm diameter wraps whould I make)? Thanks guys!!! Can’t wait to finally try my new toy, the batteries have arrived!!!
Yes, that’s what I’m hoping. Those coils are just some I had lying around, I don’t necessarily have to use them. I know nothing about flavor and the relation it has to the resistance of coils. .08 and .10 seems really low to me, and they might be better saved for dual coil builds. I also have the Dead Rabbit Pro and the Dead Rabbit 3. Maybe one of those would be better for use with these items…? Thanks for the reply!
Heres a amazing video of why i dont think theres anything better then a alien coil. Due to the pattern it holds surface tension unlike any other coil which wicks juice around the full coil like a straw. This equates to unparalleled flavor and longevity as the whole coil is always fully soaked. Also due to the pattern it creates a really nice crackle that you cant get with other coil types.
Hi! Unfortunately I don’t have an Alien v3. Would any of these other 2 work? Or a regular wound coil that I make myself? And what resistance should I aim for? Thanks.
How much room is between posts? What kind of vape do you want. Hot, cool? How much power does the mod go up to.? All my questions will effect what wire to use.
Typically the more wraps the higher the resistance (higher resistance creates a cooler vape because the coil doesn’t heat as fast) if your premade coils are 6 wrap I’d use them as they are.
Distance between posts will effect how many winds you can fit. See the 2 screws? Your legs through the holes. That’s the distance between posts.
The picture is of the Dead rabbit. You will have plenty of room for any of the coils you have.
Now we have to consider OHM’s and power. You have plenty of power to run the coil you have. Ohms is what your going have to decide on. Lower wattage will normally give you a cooler vape and longer battery life. The rabbit you have is direct to lung. I’ll assume you vape Direct to lung. I try to keep in 0.20 Ohm range. My preference is a cooler vape lower wattage. Without checking your 26 wire should be somewhere around 8/10 winds with a 3.0 ID.
coil. Less winds will raise the Ohms more winds will lower the Ohms.
Since you will be making simple coils you can download a program called Vape tools. It will double check my guess on winds. Good luck.

Yes, I am DTL and on my other devices with the commercial coils I vape at around 50 watts with .20 ish resistance for that cooler vape. I do MTL sometimes with even less wattage (23 or so). Your post explains it well and I thank you.
That 0.20 ohm I shoot for is not written in stone. I vape that 0.20 coil at 30 to 40.watts. I start 30/35 watts and will go up to 40 watts as the coil gunk’s and cotton wears. Normally around 60mls of juice. For the wattage it’s all the cloud you need.
