100/200mg nic question

Any drawbacks to going to a bottle with 200mg of nic? About to place order woth HILIQ. Also…I’m in Canada.

I’ll be that person to say please wear gloves when handling 100 mg or over, and eye protection. You don’t want to spill that on your skin or splash it in your eyes.

Thank you. Dually noted.

just be very careful with it, wear gloves ideally, if you’re clumsy &/or frequently knock things over then i would take extra care with it, handle it like its a stick of unstable dynamite… If it were me personally i would dilute it to 100mg & separate it into smaller bottles & keep them in the freezer. I use 72mg & i keep mine in 100ml bottles in the freezer, then i have a 30ml bottle i keep in a minifridge in my mixing room so i dont have to keep messing with the nic, i just refill the 30ml bottle from the same 100ml out the freezer, then when its empty move onto the next.

Edit - & definitely wear gloves & eye protection while you decant/dilute 250mg nic. Mixing with it if you use 30ml dripper bottles for nic like i do then theres less risk of getting it on your skin etc but always cover up if using exposed nic (ie using wide open bottles/using syringes/changing bottles etc)

As per my reply in your other, related thread … I’ve used it. A lot.

Others cautions about proper handling apply, of course.

But I’ve had no issues at all. I take care with how I pack it in the freezer (in a draw away from other stuff - so others are not near it). I choose times when others are not around when I mix - so no interruptions, and I mix at the kitchen sink where there is always a ready supply of water to dilute and clean up any spills if they happen.

It isn’t “rocket science”. Just take a little care and you’ll be fine.

I like usuing 200 or 250mg nic because you can use much less of it so its easy to just put some in a little dropper bottle and just use a couple drops per juice. Also easy to store smaller bottles in the freezer and you can even break some down into 100mg if you wanted.

That said just take more precaution using it. 200 not gonna kill you but you would prob get a bit nic sick if you get it all over you.

The only drawback is that the more pure the nic (higher the mg) the faster it oxidizes. You can re.edy that by storing properly. Besides that its nice to have 1 litre of nic instead of 2 being shipped i guess.

@fidalgo_vapes is right, the higher the concentration the more reactive it is, and it will oxidized faster.

Thanks for the tips. For this order I ended up going with the 100mg bottles. Figured I’d start there.

Definitely will be careful. Have to get some gloves from work.

I’ll be freezing this batch when it arrives, glad to know it is mostly a common sense thing…don’t be stupid.

Definitely plan to take precautions even with the 100mg. I’ll see how this order arrives or not then next time maybe the 200mg. Does make more sense economically for the higher nic.

Usually when i mix I’m in the kitchen alone.

Wasn’t sure about the big bottle for shipping here, have 3 250ml bottles coming. That will do me a bit I think. Definitely need to freeze.

@Oldguynew2diy that’s how you do it, protect your investment.

It’s up to you how anal you want to get over it. I have a LOT of NIC, and I’m pretty anal about keeping it fresh, BECAUSE of the investment.

If your burn rate is low, you may benefit from 30ml glass bottles. Why ?? Every time you take the bottle out of the freezer to use, you are exposing that entire bottle to heat, light, atmosphere. So, if are using 250ml working bottles, then however long that first 250 will last you, you’ll be exposing that whole bottle for the duration.

Just my .02.

It is.

A little perspective: Like many people, I have a swimming pool. As a result I regularly handle large volumes of high strength chlorine and HCL (hydrochloric acid). Far larger volumes than bottles of nic base vapers use. And, I’d venture to suggest, that HCL would be pretty nasty if … something bad happened. It’s just a case of being sensible and taking some care. Nic is likely less dangerous than HCL (and you’ll be handling far smaller volumes).

I Do hear ya though. The first time I opened a bottle of 100 mg/ml nic base I had all sorts of warnings and cautions echoing around my head. Sweaty hands and all … But a little practice and care and it was fine.

It will be fine for you too.

I’ve spilled 200mg a few times on my hands. It’s astounding how fast you’ll feel it.

@natbone I had over pressurized a 60ml of 100mg, and it burst/shattered, and I was surprised how fast even the 100mg was absorbed. Granted, my hand was covered in it (and yes, I thought who needs gloves, I’m just moving some bottles around), lol.

Definitely have been thinking on some smaller bottles to divide up.

Well @Oldguynew2diy, I don’t want to make work for you, but I gladly share where I fucked up when I first started getting gallons of NIC lol.

Eye protection and gloves are REALLY a good idea. Kids, pets, OUT of the area. Smaller bottles just work to extend the quality life of the NIC, that’s all. You won’t catch on fire if you are pulling a 250ml bottle out every time you use it, but, depending on how fast you burn through it, the bigger bottle could really be hammered by repeated freeze/thaw, and exposure beyond that.

Best thing I can do, is treat YOUR NIC, like it was MY NIC.

I went with the 100mg bottles this time around. Hopefully customs won’t nab it. If it comes through then likely look at 200mg next time. Also for this and subsequent orders…will be looking into a good storage and bottles.
