22mm single coilers.... I'm in love šŸ’—

die hard mech users say since it has a wire to make the contact as opposed to metal to metal contact that it isnt but has no protections. Posted here beforeā€¦

Last I checked a wire is metal too.

I actually made an oath to myself I would never use one for safety reasons. I broke that oath. I cannot trust myself and my reputation is tarnished.

I know what you guys mean, I was never interested in running a mech, then I got a mech squonker because it was 5 bucks, then another, now I have 4 squonkers and a mech tube lol, I also just received a wire order with 25g & 27g SS wire so I can hit the sweet spot with mech builds better lol

I would not suggest a newbie jump quickly into mechs. There is a lot to learn about vaping and one should take a year or more to learn as you go so that you actually understand and experience the huge variety that is Vape. Once you truly understand ā€œvapeā€ and have a respect for safety you should then try a mech.

I know this is what you suggest, @JiM210ā€¦ but there are some of us ā€œold schoolā€ vapers that really did start out on mechs and we live to tell the tales of yesteryear

True, but it seems relevant to mention that some of you ā€œold-schoolā€ folk sometimes forget the (very important) fact that you were most likely doing so when kanthal (ā€œhigh resistance wireā€) was about the only thing there was.

Back when 1.2 ohm to 1.8 ohm coils were the norm.

Itā€™s great to remember the old days, but you donā€™t want to leave a newbie with the wrong impression either (due to lack of either basic knowledge, and/or historical understanding and perspective).

Oath breaker! You must now rid yourself of the temptatious devices.
Iā€™ll PM you my address.

Actually it was .5ohmsā€¦ I was taught to never build lower than that on mech mods

I still use kanthal predominantly. Nothing wrong with it. (I bought a ton years ago.)

Sorry. Involuntary reaction

I prefer kanthal as well, actually. Going above 40w I get major flavor distortion, everything tasting burnt or overripe. Kanthal hits the sweet spot of 20-40w the best for me. Most chinese retailers only offer KA1 or NI80, not SS316, for some reason.

This is a dangerous post hereā€¦ I read about the Drop Solo and had to go for a clone since 22mm are not available. Just one more order to wait during the stay-at-home order.

Anything to keep you sane in these strange times! ā€¦ stay safe :+1:

I wouldnā€™t worry about ordering from fasttech, their shipping is so slow they could put a cockroach in your package and it would be dead before it got to you lol much less a virus.

Love my Merlins. I have half a dozen or so. Four of them are on the eight devices I keep in regular rotation. (Literally. Theyā€™re on a lazy susan on the table next to where I usually sit. :slightly_smiling_face:) Also have two Intakes, a single and a double coil. I guess I;m kinda partial to Augvape.

If the the Intakes only had the juice flow control that the Merlin has they would be the perfect tank.

I like the single coil Intake the best. Even though I keep a few dual coil tanks at higher wattages I seem to have settled on 24ga. Kanthal on a 3.0mm core at about 0.60 ohms and 15 watts for my go-to coil. Turns are slightly spaced. It seems to give me the best flavor with the least fuss.

Perfect for the Merlin.

Been over a month since my order shipped and then it dropped off the map.

One of my orders has spent a month at Zhengzhou bus station according to the tracking.

No doubt 2 buses will come along at once shortlyā€¦

Not sure what tracking service you are using, but Iā€™ve had better accuracy with 17track than others for stuff coming from overseas channels.

Wishing you a speedier delivery though regardless.

Fasttech order. Tracking hyperlink does indeed open 17track page, where it advises me my package has been sitting on a bench at the bus station looking left and right and checking its watch for the last 4 weeks.

Luckily, Iā€™m not actually bothered about the delivery timeā€¦Anything I order from China is mainly because Iā€™m bored, or I donā€™t really need it. It usually takes so long that I have completely forgotten what I ordered, and with lockdown, itā€™s like a little mystery present to myself when one arrives. Usually followed by ā€œwhy the hell did I get that?ā€ after opening it.
