A Walk Down Memory Lane

I have a few of those too, great flavor tanks but they really just hold too little with the two glass system. Very easy to coil and wick.

PS, if the airflow isnt enough just leave the outer glass off, ive done so with no issues but i like the flavor better with the outer glass on.

EDIT: Just read the post after that one and i see you know about leaving the glass off, hehe.

Yes but not because Iā€™m a genius  Vapin Heathen did it in his review. I prolly never would have thought of it.

This is great! :joy: Ray Lopez & are good friends.
He is out of the Vape/Accessory Business.
He works for a major Cannabis Grower/Distributor in Las Vegas. He is very active on FB, mainly shitposting. He will get a kick out of hearing he was the topic of conversation on a ELR thread. :grinning:

Oh well dayum, donā€™t mention I said he looked old in that vid! Tell him an old follower still has her copper Pegasus that he recommended from Fasttech. I will never part with it. Love that thing!

Mums the word, And I will mention You and the Copper Pegasus. Funny how things change with time. No more Fasttech & Lots of People that moved away from the Vaping Industry.

Yes, I think thatā€™s what caused me to start this threadā€¦nostalgia. Lol, there used to be tutorials on how to shop at fasttech, it was so big. I wonder where all the forum members went off to? They were the true clone experts. If you were looking for the best 1:1 they could tell ya. Ah well, best not to talk about it.

@muth I just messaged and spoke with Ray.
He said he is very flattered & appreciative that he is remembered in such a good light.
He really enjoyed his time in the Vaping community. And he truly loved helping people whenever he could.
I sent him the YouTube video as well.

I think I speak not only for myself, But for everyone else when I say.
I have met and made so many really great people in the Vaping community. Even now after so many years. So many miles that separate us. Thereā€™s a certain family quality with those who share a common interest.

@muth So i used and dual used for quite a long time, those cheap cigalikes and cartos but then i saw someone using an ego type device. I confronted this individual and demanded all the information he could provide me, he was more than happy to oblige, hehe. I ordered two devices the next day, from China of course, there were no vape shops anywhere near here at the time. A couple months later i got it and the juice i ordered. I tried and tried to vape that crap, days and days. Well i was discouraged as the juice was horrible but i got on facebook that day and one of my friends had posted that a vape shopped just opened.

Next day i arrived at the vape shop and got me an upgrade, some early crap evod and juice that nearly killed me, lol. I went back again and asked for something with less nic as i had gotten 36mg, he gave me a bottle of 18mg and i went off thinking i could vape it, i couldnt and went back one more time, we settled on 12mg. So here is a picture of the remnants of the early device and the bottle of 18mg that is still in the box.

And while looking for that device i found some D2ā€™s and did a quick breakdown:

Think i got these from ElementVape for 5 bucks a piece so i bought 4. Really good little tanks but at a 100watts its like 8 drags, lol.

I feel the same way. Thatā€™s why I get a little weepy thinking about how our ā€œhistorical landmarksā€ have disappeared. I swear, when the powers that be sense a strong bond between the people they get intimidated and do everything in their power to disassemble us. But I wonā€™t go too far down that road right nowā€¦I might blow a fuse.

WOW !!! Three of em? I love that matte black. I was given the coffee color which at first looked weird to me but Iā€™m starting to like it, itā€™s different. I donā€™t have the original packaging either which is great. People might not know that those are tins, not cardboard.

Yes, 100w is ridiculous and not needed really.

I still have my original Ego Twist. It was almost the same story as you. I was using the gas station cig a likes and while on vacation in CA. I met a gal who was vaping on an Ego. She had the pouch like you. I picked her brain. She let me try it and immediately I knew I had to have it. Luckily, in CA, there was a Vape shop down the street and I bought one and a bottle of juice. I lucked out in that department, they sold me a bottle of Tribeca.

ā€œMatte Iride Scent Blackā€ is how they spelled it at the top of the first tin, lol, i love it. I just wish they held more than 4ml, i was running them on a mech, .3ohm 3mm 26g 316L plain coils, i was ripping through the juice.

Eh, thatā€™s too bad. How many watts? Thing is, every reviewer raved about the flavor and yes, not so much about the capacity. And in this case, a Fasttech Bubble Glass Replacement wouldnā€™t work because the juice tank is inside. Now thereā€™s a REAL diy project. Figure out how to get more capacity from the D2. The only way I see it is if you had a custom bubble glass made to fit the inside glass diameter and take the outer glass off like Vapin Heathen did. There used to be a guy who made custom bubble glass. Donā€™t know if heā€™s still around. I bet he would love that challenge.

Im just whining to be honest it is super easy to fill the thing and it NEVER leaked. Getting more capacity would be great but it is certainly usable as is. Im not sure how many watts as it i used them on a tube mech, nemmy clone, so really a whole range of wattage.

Ive always been into more side air tanks, RDAs but these were really good top air tanks.

Im trying to find some of my old tanks like the RSST and my Fogger series tanks. Once i got the Igo W4 i stopped looking for new stuff for a long while, even when i got a mech i used it i just bored out the holes bigger and changed the coils sizes.

Sorry im rambling, many gummiesā€¦

No problem, your rambling is welcome. Funny thing is that many of the top air tanks that came later, I didnā€™t care for how the draw felt. I need to get this D2 built already. Iā€™m still going to look for that guy. I just emailed a company that sells all replacement tanks asking them about it.

@Ken_O_Where I think I found him.

I also dug out my MCV Philippines Atomic RDA and watched several vids on wicking. I canā€™t believe how many different techniques people came up with. Since you like your RDAs I thought Iā€™d mention it.

I never tried wicking my Kayfuns 2019 with a Chimney Coil but supposedly it opens the air a bit and adds throat hit. Iā€™ll see after I wick this baby. Thatā€™s another search down memory lane, thereā€™s different ways to do it.

What is it sitting on? I thought it was a mech at first. I love the corks!

I went through and found the first RDA i fell in love with, the IGO-W4, when Tracy heads back down south ill see if i can remember how to build it and take some pics. I put a crapton of miles on that thing, i starting running dual coils @ 1.2ohms on a SVD around 15w and on to a cloned Nemesis mech with super tiny coils that i wrapped the cotton around instead of through, doubt i could build those any longer.

Inked Atty fella, looks like i had it bookmarked already for the Big Baby Beast tank.

Ahh yes, i never got one of them as i was always skeered of the hybrid mechs. Kinda regret it now but such is life, hehe.

Nothing to be skeered about unless your pin is too short
