You’re gonna love the G2! What color did ya get? I got the red one and it’s a beaut.
I picked out the black one.Already got an email stating that it is on it’s way and that it was shipped out Priority mail on 7/5/2016. I lost a day somewhere or the Shiner Bocks are really kicking my ass hard tonight!
I like their optimism at VaporCUBE!
About the Velocity and heat issue:
@wvsanta “Back to the original topic I would like to point out that the velocity dripper as good as they are, are also well known to hold more residual heat in the build deck. Some people have used a 510 heat sink between the atty and the mod to help with this problem.”
@bradslinux “yes, .2 ohms is low for a single battery mod. The math bears this out.”
*** Thanks for taking the time to confirm my suspicions. Feel kind of ashamed for not doing the math myself to start with, but I appreciate the /Gibbs headsmack/!! Also, Thanks for 2nd’ing the Alliance V2.
I think I’ll probably end up looking for a Tsunami 22mm before 8 Aug. But the
Alliance v2 will be on the radar, eventually!
@Lostmarbles “The Velocity runs hot no matter what.”
“These are all dual (or more) battery setups that can handle .2 ohm builds.”
*** Awesome input as well friend! TY for all of it!
@Whiterose0818 “i have a heatsink to send you, if you want one…i dont use it.
unless you plan on buying a different RDA, then i’ll save my money, lol…”
I do like the dripper! I just needed to gleen more info (which thanks to several folks here confirming that it’s the nature of that particular animal) But it’s gonna be a bit before I can make work something out with ya man! I’m gonna be in DEEP doo doo shortly.
About the dual battery mod ‘wants’:
@Whiterose0818 “dude, i’m here to tell you: a DNA200 for under $60 is unbelievable!”
…well, it brings it down within reason anyways… lol
I think $150-$200 for CHINESE pot metal and circuit boards (in most cases), is Nuckin’ Futs! Machined aluminum, and assembled in the USA, then yeah, I can maybe see $100-$125. But I think most of this stuff is so hyper inflated because they KNOW they have a captive audience, they’ve been abusing the shit out of it. JMHO/YMMV.
I know the DNA board is the exception to the rule here, as it IS USA designed/made, and I’ve watched the in-depth reviews with the “G” (who hates the term Genius -even though he is one! lol) who designed it. And that’s part of what had me interested in it ever since I watched the video/tech behind it! I just didn’t care for the proprietary (Lipo) battery aspect. So when I first heard about the VT133, I perked like a bird-dog. However, the price was still an issue.
I still look at the $150-200 mods and choke, simply because, that’s a helluva lot to layout in one whack (at least for alot of folks) myself included at the moment. Yes, I get that it’s a far better investment in yourself, and that the layout is more than worth it in the long term…but there’s still the simple fact that for alot of folks to be able to make that happen, it’d mean giving up 3 weeks to a month’s worth of smokes money to save enough to make that purchase. And if they could do that…they probably wouldn’t need a device to help them quit smoking. LOL (So it’s either: make them worth buying at a price and experience that compares to smoking, OR keep smoking in most folks eyes.)
If that first pen mod hadn’t been on clearance for $25 (the website said it was normally $70, and the shop had a normal price of $59 on it) then I’d still be smoking. Short and simple. I’d never have found my way here, thanks to ‘the new-found habit’ escalating. Another aspect of that being, the instant I got into sub-ohm, I could see that the eliquid that would last me 2-3 weeks for $15 was now going to run me $15-$20 (for most of them) for just 3-4 days. So now, I’m back up to $40 a week (still, a bit cheaper than smoking though). Then I get a better mod, and now that I have a more consistent delivery of vape, I watch as the wattage goes up (from previously no more than 25-35w) to min. 34w up to 48w. We’re really drinking the juice now!! So didn’t take long to see that I wasn’t going to be able to afford even $12-15 a day on a 30ml of juice, as that’s back to basically spending the same (more actually) than what I was on smokes!!!
Annnnnnyyyways… I feel your excitement man! I truly do. And I know that folks that have been in this little endeavor the longest have spent an EXORBITANT amount of money to do so. Please don’t think that I’m not grateful, as I am.
Because without those that have pushed the industry forward, to continue to get them to make the necessary refinements, to GET the experience that we’re finally just starting to see (as an end user)…I TOTALLY respect what’s been done.
And I appreciate it FULLY as one who’s reaping the benefits of all that hard work, and the endurance of a lot of awesome vaping community members who’ve told all the stories I’ve both read about, and listened to in person. But it still doesn’t change the financial impact on those living the ‘day to day’ financials. That’s why now more than ever we need to have these recent (and coming) devices available!!! The prices are finally starting to reach reasonable, the quirks are being nailed down, and the experience/effectiveness of the system (vaping) as a whole is FINALLY on track to be able to replace smoking for the masses.
That reason alone is why the FDA is being used to try and to bring the hammer down
(at the behest of the corporate lobbyists/government powers that be/etc). They FEAR the ‘loss of control’ and perhaps even a fundamental shift in the dynamic of power that for literally generations HAS BEEN exclusive to “Big Tobacco”/big pharma.
Anyways, I’m just trying to say: “I’m not an idiot man, I get it! Shit’s cheaper and better than it’s ever been” and you’re excited!! lol So am I!!!
…
Back on track.
@wvsanta “With several places currently having them in stock and much cheaper
than we have ever seen before now is the time to get one. I truly never thought
I would own one but I must admit after buying the VT133 the DNA 200’s are truly
that much better.”
…followed by:
“as far as tc mods go and all I can tell you is the vt133 does temp control so
much better than any of them I am totally sold on the DNA200 hands down.”
@Pattie “Definitely agree with @Whiterose0818 and @wvsanta on the dna mod’s.
Best move I’ve ever made. I love my vt 133. Only complaint is the door.
However,I did get extra battery doors and they are finished properly with a
rubberised texture. Far better than the original door that it comes with.”
*** I definitely need to try and see what I can do to get some of those doors before the chances are gone.
And the clincher…
@wvsanta “Vape NW has the best price I have seen to date”
Boooooooooooooy you guys are MEAN!!! No peer pressure here at all. LMAO
I don’t want to even think about what she’s gonna do when she sees the c/c bill.
Since the only other place that had it was the one @mstokens mentioned, and they
were OOS when I clicked on the link…The next cheapest I.S. was $119…
so I pulled the c/c (and possibly the trigger on myself when she finds out) and
the rest is my obituary? o0
Well, it’s history now anyways.
After a long 12-16 hours mulling over all the possible repercussions, I finally
just bit the bullet and ordered the VT133 for $79 shipped from VapeNW while it
was still in stock.
I think I’ll lead with: “But it lists for $189, and most places sell it for $150…look how much I saved!!” Yeah. I’m screwed.
PS: YOU KNOW who I’m coming for if I need help setting this hypersonic bells-n-
whistle whatchamadingle up in the Escribe software right??? RIGHT??? >.>
I’m looking at YOU people!!! lol
Seriously though, I’m gonna die.
I don’t think a DNA 200 mod was ever intended to be the device to get people off smokes. Rather it’s the one that keeps them off it. Yes it’s expensive if you’re still smoking too. If not, it easily pays for itself.
I honestly don’t think you’ll regret that decision. I’ve got a couple of the VT133s now and absolutely love them. Don’t be frustrated at first. Escribe is a bit of a learning curve, Once you get it though, and there are lot’s of folks here that can help you, I think you’ll be thinking it might’ve been worth double the price.
Glad you like the vt 133. I honestly would buy another if I didn’t have all the mods that i do. I absolutely love using it. But I’m in the uk and everyone wants to claw your eyes out over here for anything vape related.
What a difference in the doors! Why they sold them with the standard door idk, it wasn’t even finished on the inside!
The accessorie door is far better finished, nice rubberised finish on it. Got two from gearbest for £2.50 each. Win win.
And yes, plenty of experience with escribe on this forum, so just ask.
I don’t think you will regret doing it. I do totally understand the rest of the story as well.
I owned the velocity for a while and loving it. Just got the v2 a couple of weeks ago, while the heat is still there it’s far better than v1. Probably because of the thicker steel walls.
Apologies for the delay in the update, but figured it might be helpful for those who stumble across it in the future, so I’m updating the thread for ‘posterity’s sake’!
Brad was dead on here. But I wouldn’t have confirmation on this until I was able to test it later.
Even though I was using a 0.27 ohm total build… that poor little 90w mod (and battery) was working it’s ass off. Even though it was nowhere near being used at 90w. I was thinking I was safe simply because I wasn’t near maxing things out (wattage-wise), and that was one hell of a reminder that I need to be more vigilant, and not to mention that I need to stick to regulated mods (if I want to ‘stay lazy’ about the math).
So, just because it says it can handle down to 0.1
…doesn’t mean it’s a good idea! Had I gotten a substandard battery that somehow made it through the process, or worse, a fake/clone…things could’ve gone in a much different direction.
Once I tried the same setup on a dual battery mod, the heat issue (at least as described above) ceased. The velocity clone still gets warm on both the VT133 and the Cuboid 150 (that I’ve since acquired), but not outside the norm.
Consider suspicions above confirmed, and the curiosity long since solved.
Also, VERY worth noting that having those protections -as seen in the pic above (and having them working /smh@ the new IPV6X* and IPV400* reverse batt. prot. auto-firing full wattage…) is worth it’s weight in gold!
PS: Thank God for regulated mods. Another “…more News at 10” horror story avoided.
PPS: I was going to post a link to the video where VapnFagan did an “Update video” showing the issue, but either it’s been removed/pulled down, or my YouTube-Fu needs a boost ATM.
