Sorry was talking specifically about the situation in Australia. The fact they borrowed propaganda from the US is no surprise. And the revenue in taxes from cigarettes here makes up about 95% of the cost of a pack of cigarettes. So any fall in sales severely hits the bottom line for the government.
Thanks for the welcome session drummer have been lurking for years but this is my first post.
Bogans latest video highlighting where Australia is going to be very shortly by the looks. He can certainly be colourful but youāve got to admire his advocacy.
I appreciate it could be said he has a vested interest considering his collaborations and juice line but Iām sure heās clever enough to have ensured a long time ago his business dealings are safe. I for one honestly believe itās more than that for him and of course at the end of the day heās a vaper like the rest of us who is soon to be turned into a criminal.
I donāt know if Iāve mentioned this before but Iām still unsure how an Australian vaper will sit in the eyes of the law once this shit show crosses the line.
My number one question isā¦ if Iām using a mod/RTA combo after the hammer falls and IF I can prove I bought the kit BEFORE will I be breaking the law? Take nicotine out of the equation.
The way I see it is that Iāll require a prescription to even own and use an RTA, regardless of whatās actually in the RTA.
None of it makes any sense whatsoever but that canāt be right can it?

Call them , ask and or and tell them (Boganās words)
- do you support the legalisation of vaping?
- why donāt you?
- weāre not asking you to bring in new legislation to legalise it
- all weāre asking you to do is block this new legislation because it goes too far, it will make things far too inaccessable
- it is going to make nicotine replacement therapy via vaping less accessible than the far more deadly cigarette
- it will stop those adults that rely on access to these products to not smoke cigarettes
- the real issue with āthe teenage vaping epidemic in australiaā is the lack of policing on the illegal sales of these products to children
- we want the Greens to support sensible legalisation and access to vaping products and that is not what this legislation is going to do
- this legislation is going to remove any CHOICE that adults have to make their own informed decision about what method of smoking cessation they want to use to improve their health
It sounds like it to me.
Weāre stuffed if this goes through.
A vaper in WA has been charged for vaping without a prescription already. But prescription is only for pharma pods not rta rda squonk .
Currently the prescription is for nicotine only but thatās clearly about to change.
Thereās also a unique law to WA which orders retailers not to sell a complete kit. In other words a mod can be sold but not a tank and vice versa. Iāve seen shops open up next to each other with the same owners where a vaper buys a mod from one shop and a tank from next door. Therefore that always made disposables illegal in WA.
From what I knew it was perfectly legal to own a mod/tank combo but itās always been illegal to have nicotine juice within that tank unless you had a prescription.
Very confusing I know but,and again as I understand it, thereās been governmental meetings between all states and territories to iron out all these idiosyncrasies to enable new laws that are uniform throughout.
Time will tell but it seems time is very nearly upon us.
I was thinking today and from memory that law about a retailer not being allowed to sell a complete kit may have eventuated due to another law WA has where it is illegal to sell anything that resembles a cigarette that isnāt a cigarette.
I attended court with a poor bloke who got done by that one. It was clear as soon as we walked in the decision had been made. The poor bloke was crucified for selling egos.
That law was to combat the sale of those white lollys with the red end called āFadsā.
Theseā¦
To this day I still see them for sale and every time I do I have to shake my head.
I can remember buying them as a kid and also the broken ones by weight that were calledāFag endsā.
I can understand those being banned as kids will clearly pretend their smoking with them. I know I did.
But if theyāre banned why do I continue to see them?
Me too Gazza.
I guess changing the name stops that from happening
Iām back and forth between Boston, USA and Sydney, AU and theyāre both retarded. Massachusetts has banned flavours so you have to drive over the border to buy anything with flavours or find some sketchy person that can hook you up (thanks but no thanks). Australia is like a different version of the same shit show with vape prescriptions to get nic juice.
But one thing is the same in both places: you can buy it on the street.
Did you catch the news that the health minister (AU) said disposables are going to be banned in December? Yeah, thanks Butler. Can buy cigarettes but canāt buy a vape. REALLY SMART.
In the meantime, itās all whatever cause obviously (as EVERYONE knows) you can buy whatever you want on the street and hope that itās made safely cause who the hell knows what youāre buying!
One thing I keep thinking about though is whether theyāre even going to follow through in Australia. I remember when the last health minister said he was banning vapes and then they reversed course at the last second. Maybe theyāll do that again?
Vape advocacy played a big part when that happened.
I know many Vapers (many from here) who emailed, signed & phoned to protest the complete ban.
There are now so many additional Vapers who are using disposables who donāt even know they are breaking the current āprescription onlyā laws and who quite likely have no clue about the impending ban as they buy through the well established Black market.
I.believe this statement to be 100% correct. From my observations most are using disposables and from the ones Iāve spoken to only a few have even heard of the impending ban. Those that have couldnāt care less as they are convinced itāll make absolutely no difference to them as their current supplier isnāt any vaping business anyway.
These are the ones everyone seems to have.
I donāt doubt theyāll be able to access what they want but itās fairly obvious the prices will rise and the actual juice will be questionable.
This outright ban is the worst decision possible and I unfortunately believe itāll have some unexpected and terrible repercussions. I say unexpected but everyone but the lawmakers can see it.
Apparently health minister Butler will try and ban personal importation scheme in parliament today or tomorrow.
Here we go then.
I take it thatās the first step?
Ban the importation and then selling merchandise and nicotine free juice domestically.
From what iv heard yes. As health minister he has power to make changes without legislation. So heās going after the changes he needs via legislation
