its awesome we have a temporary reprieve but we cant let up now.
We have 6 months to hammer our elected officials for legislation we can all live with.
In the mean time however, FUK hunt, & enjoy our small people power victory.
OZI OZI OZI
OI OI OI
Today’s “reprieve” announcement is the best birthday (yes it’s today) present I’ve had in many a year . Thank you to everyone who helped out, both in Oz and overseas. Love to you all
No time to get complacent. As @bede1 says, now’s the time to start hammering!
There has been a reprieve of the July 1st ban on importing nicotine to Australia. The health minister Greg Hunt caved under the pressure of many petitions and opposition from other mp’s. At this stage the ban will not be until January 1st 2021.
happy birthday bro
Yep not a bad prezzy hey?
we have to fight now.
They arent going to let it go so we have to push for common sense regulations that protect minors.
Much like the regulations around cigarettes and alcohol.
No selling to minors, ID needed, sales from dedicated vape stores, and maybe even limits on nicotine strengths, that kind of thing.
Something like the UK’s TPD model without the 2ml tank limits probably wouldnt be to bad.
Thanks mate. Yeah, not a bad pressie at all. Well that and tonight’s game but I won’t mention that . Had me worried for a while. Well done.
All these I can live with. More than happy to do so if that’s what it takes. In the meantime I can rest easy and looking forward to my nic rocking up Mon or Tues next week . I’m happy but Greg the knucklehead isn’t … Boo-Yah!
lol, i was trying hard to forget the result of tonight’s game but seeing its your birthday, enjoy mate.
Gawd, even with half your regular team out we still couldnt compete.
Wasnt a bad game though.
Yeah, ive just been getting tracking updates for a couple of my orders, they have reached the chullora sorting centre so should be here monday or tuesday.
“The Morrison Government, together with the state and territory governments, is committed to shutting down the importation of vaping products due to its associated health risks such as nicotine poisoning,” the spokesman said.
Responding to the MPs’ letter, a spokesman for Mr Hunt stood by the import ban and said the Victorian Poisons Centre reported a doubling of nicotine poisons between 2018 and 2019 caused mainly by imports of dubious quality.
" We understand that you have a different view on the relative risks of establishing a regulated vaping market in Australia. We respect your views.
“Regardless of our differences of opinion on that issue, we feel that this proposed regulatory change has been too rushed and risks a widespread community backlash and perverse health outcomes.”
The other signatories include Liberals Eric Abetz, Jason Falinski, Trent Zimmerman, Dave Sharma, James Paterson, Hollie Hughes and Amanda Stoker. Nationals signatories include Bridget McKenzie, George Christensen, Llew O’Brien, Ken O’Dowd and Damian Drum.
I had a feeling it might’ve been a mistake letting people know it was my birthday on the 26th but I was so excited on hearing the “good news” I sorta rushed into posting my comment . Thanks to @bede1@Sevencasper@Sprkslfly@SessionDrummer@marsh8 and @anon84779643 for the well wishes. A little embarrassing but thanks anyway . Now, onto the next stage of this “battle” we go! I have some “thank you” emails to write (to the pollies who stood up for us) tomorrow. Cheers.
