Welcome Steve,
While we all know analogs are addicting, youā€™ll find out diy is at least as addicting after a bit.

Gā€™day All!!
Iā€™m Peter, from Melbourne Australia. Been vaping about 4 months now & tinkering with the DIY about 6 weeks. So so sooo good to be off the lung-busters. I had one about 6 weeks into my vaping journey & I was shocked to find it was totally D I S G U S T I N G! This really blew my mind coz I spent 35 years absolutely adoring them. Weird. Now I,ve gotta make a tobacco vape that I dont find disgustingā€¦
Over here, DIY is definitely the way to go. Over here, the laws are very strange ā€¦& inconvenient - we cant buy nic juice over the counter, but we can import it for personal use, which is very expensive (my first 2 30ml juices cost approx $90Aus landedā€¦(F@#K! I hear you say)). We can buy these things called ā€œdoublersā€ which are a 2x concentration of juice - much cheaper, but theres hassle involved. If, for example, you want 60 ml of juice, you buy a 30ml doubler & then ad 30ml of your own pg/vg ā€¦& your own nicā€¦ which has to be imported. Technically, also illegal without a doctors certificate & a prescription, but fortunately the folks in customs appear to possess at least a little common sense (ā€¦for now), & they allow small quantities that are obviously for personal use through.
So, after messing around with doublers, I figured I might as well mix my own seeing as I was 1/2 way there already ā€¦& here I am, at ELR! Ive been using this site a few weeks now, initially because of the recipe sharing/creation facility, however, I have since sought help with a few questions on this forum (Iā€™m new to forums too!) & discovered an amazing community ā€¦a family! WOW. My knowledge & understanding of the vape has expanded out of sight as a result. So, thank you to those who have guided me thus far - you folks are awesome! ā€¦& thank you Daath!.. if Iā€™m not mistaken, you are responsible for this site. If so,ā€¦ Champion!
I look forward to sharing some recipes when Iā€™ve got them under control, & at this rate it wont be too long. Thanks again & cheers! Its great to be here!!

welcome guys enjoy your time here itā€™s well spent!!!

Welcome! Congrats on making the switch! Youā€™re in good company here. I think weā€™ve got a few other Australians hanging around that could probably give you some great ideas for where to get supplies.

Wowā€¦I didnā€™t realize this thread was here! Guess I havenā€™t looked around the site as much as I thought I had! Well, it may be a little late for this as I have already created a few topics and replied to a few posts, but here goes. My name is Tracy and I am from Fredericksburg, Virginia. I am a stay at home mother of 3 rowdy boys who are 11, 7, and 4. I quit smoking and started vaping around motherā€™s day of 2014. I really did it for my kids. I did it for myself also, but mostly because I want to be here for my boys and their father whom I have had a happy 15 year relationship with! It is good to meet you all and I am glad to have found the community here at ELR!

Yay! Welcome (officially!) I have a 9 year old girl and sheā€™s a big reason I quit, too, so I can definitely relate to that. Iā€™m gad youā€™ve made yourself at home here. Itā€™s really a fantastic place. Even in disagreement, people tend to be respectfulā€¦for the most part.

[/quote] ā€¦and I might be able to help them too. Ive done an enormous amount of research. Relatively speaking, theres not that many options over here, but Iā€™m more than happy to share my experience!

hi everybody !! I am Sonny from Virginia, Started vaping 1 month ago last Friday and officially put the cigs down 2 days later. I was a HEAVY smoker, 2 packs a day on average 3 to 4 on nights I was drinking. As I stated in a earlier post I have been in the restaurant industry for a little over 27 years as a chef, so getting into the DIY juices only seemed like the natural thing for me to do, especially after seeing how much juices cost in the stores ā€¦ 10 bucks for 15 mls ?? really ?? thatā€™s nutsā€¦

Welcome @sonnyj33! There are a few fellow chefs here, I believe!
