Here’s hoping for the best for you. Rest up and take care of yourself. We’ll wait.
For some reason I missed your post - I hope the best for you! As I’m sure everyone here do!
My thoughts and prayers are sent your way HoneyGram57!
Hi Guys, I’ve been lurking around here for a few weeks now. Great info and very helpful atmosphere.
I have done a tonne of mixing using recipes from here. One question I have, why does steeping take longer when you are waiting for it? lol
Keep up the good work guys
Hello wonderful ELR people. My name is Mike, I live in Pennsylvania, and I’ve been DIYing for… 2 weeks.
I’ve been vaping for 5 months, and 100% off cigs since the new year. As I upgraded my equipment from cigalikes, to egos, to sub ohm tanks and RDAs I found that I was spending as much, or more, per month than I did when smoking. Besides health, one of my main motivations for vaping was cost savings, so I knew I had to find a way to cut down my costs. I migrated from B&M juices to online bulk juices, but found the quality to be spotty and never managed to find a juice that spoke to me. DIY seemed way to complex and time consuming at first, but after doing some in depth research I decided to take the plunge. Over the past month I’ve been ravenously reading this website and trying to learn as much as possible. I now have a stache of 30+ flavors, and a nice kitchen scale to mix by weight. It’s been a blast so far and I am super excited that I’ve found this community!
My ADV tastes lean towards menthol and I always have a menthol juice in my trusty Delta II, but since I quit cigs entirely I have been developing a taste for the fruity and creamy and usually vape “desert” flavors on my dripper in the evening.
So far I have one “work in progress” recipe that I’m pretty proud of, Minty Menthol, which is a “clone” of the juice that got me off cigs in the first place. Here is the link: http://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/492623/Minty+Menthol+v1
Vape on!
It’s based on the same principle that causes time to move slower as you approach vacation time and causes time to drastically speed up during vacation.
Hi, I’m Dave38 aka Dave from OH but I’m fairly New here, I quite smoking for over two years and been vaping ever sense. Been making juice for a year to cut cost, been a hobby ever sense. Like Helping out people so they don’t have to go broke trying to quite smoking. I share what I can find, but no means am I a know it all. I’ve created some basic flavors glad to help if I can or share my experiences. Thanks for the help on producing juice faster, I’ll be working on it.
Welcome to the forum, Dave!
Welcome friends!
Greetings,
My name is Del. I’m in southern California, the Inland Empire to be a little more precise. I’ve been vaping since, roughly, 2008. Started with one of those $100 KR808D kits, and it didn’t take long before I started cleaning and refilling those obnoxious little cartridges instead of buying new ones. My wife took to “e-smoking” much quicker than I did, I was a 50% smoker for probably a couple more years. Somewhere along the line we moved to the eGo style when the KR8/DS901 eGo batteries showed up. That led me to using separate atomizers, which was my first introduction to dripping. Shortly after that I built my first mod, a 2xAA battery box with a horn button and a 14500 batt. Then larger tanks with eGo connections started to show up, we tried many, and finally ended up running evod tanks, and have been using that setup for years now.
For years we looked for an ADV. I’m not sure when it happened, but I started making DIY menthol juice* for my wife. Eventually I gave up on my hopes to find a decent flavor and started using the menthol as well.
Finally a year or so ago I got a Kanger KBox, an Omega clone, and a SMOK Squid. This started my descent into mods, atomizers, a renewed interest in dripping, and flavors. OMG, the flavors that exist now…
While I’m better off than I was when I last bought e-liquid, I am just an AppleCare adviser, and cannot bring myself to spend that much on juice. So I started thinking about DIY flavors again. I’m not entirely certain how I stumbled across this site and its forum, but I did a few months ago, and have been lurking since. I guess it’s now time to speak up and say hey.
So, TL;DR:
Hey all, I’m Del. I generally go by my last name, Rudolph, on the internets. Call me either, I answer to both. I’m becoming addicted to mods, atties, and tanks. I have a fairly serious problem with commas. I also have a very colorful vocabulary, so I apologize in advance for any expletives that may (will) escape my fingertips.
As I have now written something closer to an autobiography than a forum post I will now shut up and return you to your regularly scheduled mixing.
Cheers,
Rudolph

Hi. I’m Mark in Key West, Florida. I quit smoking cigarettes on December 1st, 2015, after having smoked for 30 years, and have been vaping since then. I’ve been DIY’ing for about the latter half of that time. I’ve been mixing using the volumetric method, but have been inspired to order a scale and start mixing by weight. I appreciate this community very much.
Great to see you @MarkM. Your journey is very similar to many of us with the dreaded weed. Together we will all do it.
Welcome @Rudolph! Your story sounds a lot like mine. Those early days were pretty rough, but man is it awesome now. Stick around and I’m sure you’ll be an expert in no time. Or at least find a few ADVs that you love.
Welcome @MarkM! Yay! Another convert for the “mixing by weight” club. Congrats on quitting and I’m glad you’ve found some inspiration here.
Y’all are gonna fit right in.
Hi to all I’ve missed. Welcome, you’ve found the RIGHT place to be.
Hi I’m Tony. I live in SoCal. Been vaping 5 months and mixing for 4.
I’m getting more sleep than I ever thought humanly possible but wanted to say thanks for all the well wish everyone!
Welcome! Sounds like you got started off on the right track! I wish I had started mixing as soon after I started vaping as you. I would have saved a lot of money that I probably then would have blown on mixing supplies.
Hey everyone , I am 29 from scotland been off the cigarette for 2 weeks after buying aspirer
