I lurk a lot and figured it was time to say hello. So, hi!

I started vaping in 2014,. I’d tried quitting smoking numerous times with little success and then a friend introduced me to vaping. Within barely a few weeks, I’d kicked the analogue habit and haven’t gone back since.

I’m currently pending starting my Masters in Social Work and the Global Welfare of Children. I also work part time at a local vape store, where I’m able to help others kick the habit which I thoroughly enjoy. I’ve been DIY’ing probably about 2 months now? With little success so far, lol, but hopefully that will change.

Nice to meet you all,and thanks for reading!

Thanks JoJo

Kids these days don’t know how good they have it! LOL Young whippersnappers, in my day we had to charge our 135mAh batteries like 37 times a day! And we could only vape at 3 watts! And we liked it! In the snow! Or something.

Welcome all!

@Mcvape2 Congrats on quitting smoking! Feels good, yeah?

@Frosticles Wow, good luck on your Masters. That’s awesome. I think it’d be fun to work in a vape shop as long as my co-workers were as cool as the people on this forum. :stuck_out_tongue:

Official welcome @anon6970 since I’ve seen ya around for awhile. Don’t worry, you’ll fit right in around here.

Hi. My name is Jon. After 30 years of smoking, a friend introduced me to an ego / CE4 setup back on January 7th 2014. I haven’t smoked since. I’ve just recently started looking at mixing my own e-liquid so started searching for help on how to begin. Found this site & thought it would be the ideal place to guide me through what to do & flavour ideas.

Welcome! This is indeed a very good place to be when starting out, and I say that from experience. I wish I had found it sooner. I’ve been mixing for a while, but this place and these awesome people have helped and inspired me to keep improving. Careful, though. Stick around a bit and you’ll turn around twice and have 200 flavors, 10 devices, and 20 new tanks. :stuck_out_tongue:

I have been on this forum for a little over a year and I just looked and I haven’t been polite and introduced myself so I thought I would give it a shot. I am one of the 1% of people who didn’t smoke before they started vaping. I got a vape for my girlfriend at the time and got her to stop smoking but I tried it and really enjoyed the flavors. I got into DIY about 6 month after I started vaping I was not very good at it and got discouraged for awhile. I stopped vaping for awhile after I ditched the crazy girlfriend. obviously got back into with a vengeance a couple months later. So I have been DIY for about a year vaping for about 2 years.

Well besides vaping I am a computer tech at a pasta plant and a single dad. I don’t get out much! I am very glad I found DIY ejucie it is a very therapeutic and keeps me sane. I have gotten a lot of friends off cigarettes and I have about 10 people I make juice for now. Not planning on going into business or anything but it is nice for my hobby to start paying for itself. I live in Montana and there isn’t many people that DIY here so this forum is a great place to talk about DIY and get it out of my system so I don’t complete drive my friends nuts talking about it.

Tsk tsk! So rude! :stuck_out_tongue: Kidding. Hello and welcome!

Being a fellow single parent, I know what you mean! Between school and parenting I don’t have much energy or time for anything else. This is my social life. LoL. It’s awesome that you’ve been able to help people quit even though you weren’t a smoker. Good on ya!

I have been thinking about going back to school I just can’t seem to bring myself to it. I want sometime to myself and going back to school would eat up my two hours after I get the kido to bed. There would be a chance of me going postal lol.

Yep. I’m fortunate that I don’t have to work at the moment, but I’m going to school full time and it feels like it sucks every ounce of time and energy I have. I hate that I’m not spending as much time with my daughter as I’d like but I tell myself it’ll be worth it when I’m done and I can give her a better life. :slightly_smiling: I don’t know that I could do it if I had to work also.

I so wasn’t going to go full time. I got like 95 credits and I would like to get some kind of degree out of it. I got a decent job now but a piece of paper gets you more money. How old is your daughter? Mine is 3 1/2 she is awesome and makes it a hole lot easier to wake up and get things done. She gives me a lot of motivation.

She is almost 10! Which kind of freaks me out. LoL. Man if you already have 95 credits, you’re almost there. Even a class at a time wouldn’t take you very long.

I would be freaked out if my daughter was 10 I am scared just thinking about her going to school it is going to be nerve raking. I mean it took me forever just to find a daycare I felt I could trust. I am very very picky about who watchers her I have only had two people ever watch her and only once over night. Like I said I really don’t get out much lol.

I would be almost done if when I went to school I had a plan and followed it instead I changed my mind every ten minutes. That and I hate English and suck at writing papers it will have to be my first class I have avoided for a very long time. I am hoping now that I am older I will have more patients!

Thank you, JoJo, and yes, my comrades are absolutely fantastic to work with. It’s been a strange experience though. Coming from hospitality we have two rules: 1. Serve customers as quickly as possible, and b. Always look busy. At the store? It’s the complete opposite. You take your time with customers, so you can be assured they walk away confident in using what they’re buying (we cater mostly to those new to it/wanting to quit smoking) and this can take anywhere from 10 minutes to half an hour or more. And secondly, it’s okay to sit, chat and have a vape when there are no customers. It sounds like a dream job come true, but it’s a struggle to get used to, haha.

Hey guys, I’m Daniel an ex smoker of 20 plush years thanks to vaping. I’m an disabled vet from the gulf wars, 2 brain surgeries I had to quit smoking. I jumped right into diy because it gives me something to do and I really enjoy it. I’ve used up my starter kit from liquid barn and have about 25 new flavors showing up in mail Monday from bull city vape. Capella, flavor west, flavora and a few more. Thanks to you guys for all you do here and help people get started with the best flavors possible. Thank you for that. I can’t wait to put up more recipes and help in any way I can. I haven’t ever tasted a premium e juice so I have nothing to compare. Disabled vets don’t make alot and times get hard on my family of 5. But diy is a affordable solution to help me stay cigarette free.if there is anything I can do to help this community grow please let me know… I can’t say thank you enough… keep on vaping!
