Ok, here goes…

Name is John, I’m Canadian, 54 yo. Smoked for 39 years and was up to 2 packs a day. Decided to try vaping and omg glad I did. It’s been 1 1/2 months now and I still skoke a bit, but like 3-4 cigs a day. I’ll eventually cut them out completely, but can already see a huge difference in my health, and wallet especially. Love vaping!!!

I’ve been using a Vaporesso Nano 3, love it, then a few weeks ago added a Vaporesso Pro to my collection. Just a few days ago bought a Geek Vape Legend 2 (L200) but need more time to figure out how that works and also to set it without coughing my face off haha. Have it down to like 50-60w and prefer it lower like that than say over 100w lol plus don’t like the hot feel.

Been reading this site and watching videos a lot and just recieved my first order, have a second on its way. Will mainly be working on pod recipes with salt nic, but will also try my hand at freebase a bit later for the more complex stuff. Glad to see that some people have posted about pod recipes and their methods of making them and I really hope that the trend will continue and grow as its very useful to newbs like me!!!

Just wanted to tell you a bit about myself and say thanks for having this great resource and community available for people like me and us all!!

Welcome to forum! You’ll get a good vapeucation here from people always willing to help. If you get stuck, just ask for help. Getting used to high powered mods, the best advice I can give you, is to start at low wattage and increase by two or three watts until you find your sweet spot. In time, you’ll get to know what wattage range works best for the type and resistance of coil build you’re using. Good luck, welcome, and remember to ask questions.

@UrsusArctis we have very similar stories.

One thing just to make clear, as I don’t know how, or what you vape, but if you are vaping Mouth To Lung (MTL), typically the NIC will be much higher, than if you are vaping Direct To Lung (DTL), which would be much lower. I still vape BOTH. The small MTL doesn’t make clouds, and I use around 12-14mg NIC, while my bigger, cloud chuckers I only run 3mg. Make sure you don’t use the high NIC in your cloud chuckers, because you WILL cough your head off.

I’m the same and typically run mine at 65 watts, as I don’t like Jet Engine hot vapes either.

Please see my points above, because this sounds like you ARE MTL’ing (i.e. Pods), so make sure that is where your high NIC, or Salts go, NOT a DTL tank/setup.

Thanks for the backstory.

Thanks for your messages. Just noticed, sry im not used to the forum yet.

Yeah, as far as MTL goes I am doing that with 20 mg/ml nic salts in the pods (I occasionally DTL them when I need nic bad hehe). In the mod, i’m using 6mg freebase so as not to get sick).

Welcome John.

Fellow :canada: here and there is more than a handful of us. Glad you found vaping and started down this route.

Think of how many cigs you didn’t smoke, for the win.

In 3 months it’ll make 9 years smoke free for me and although I have mods capable of 400 watts I’m usually vaping at less than 50. You’ll find your happy range and style.

Our stupid government rules give us no incentive to cut down our nicotine intake with their excise taxes even on nicotine free vapes, and instead of nicotine content base their taxes on volume.

In the upcoming months your breathing will become easier, your fingers will lose that staining, your clothes will stop smelling of smoke, your taste and smell will come back to you.

Good luck in all of this. We’re a helpful bunch.

Hi all

New to this place, but 11 years vaping after way too long smoking.

Australian (I see you have a few around here) suffering with the latest round of draconian anti-vape laws.

I own lotsa mods, lotsa atties and way too much other vape related … stuff - and it doesn’t worry me in the slightest.

Mixing? Errr, well … I can deal with one shots, and that’s about it grin.

Anyway, enuff … I’ll hunt up interesting looking threads and start browsing.
