Best shortbread for Buttery?

I have 4 shortbred here…ive vaped them all and theyre ALL so good I really want a buttery SB cookie which would you pick?

CAP Shortbread
SSA Shortbread cookie
Wonder Flavors Shortbread cookies
I cant choose theyre all great.

Alright, alright. I WILL pick the one for you (or me at least) @ladycrooks. Sobucky had the BEST all around buttery shortbread for my tastes (maybe not yours). The Capella was GREAT, but leaned towards almost a pumpkin or gingerbread almost. WF’s was good, but to my tastes it wasn’t the TOP top.

Shortbread Cookies (WF) (SC) 3.5% (12-17-22) – Butter, butter, and MO butter is the word of the day with this one. OK, maybe not THAT much, but this flavor, but you get a healthy dose. Now that’s good, because WF kept this one true to a true Shortbread Cookie, which literally has three ingredients. Flour, sugar, butter. All three were present, and surprisingly, not as sweet as I had predicted, with a below mid level sweetness. The “crumbly” aspects of a SBC were captured pretty well, as well as the (duh), butta !!! The butter while predominant, wasn’t dominant or overbearing, and sat well in the mix. At 3.5% it was full, and rich, without any off-notes or signs of over-flavoring. Somewhat relaxed, and fairly neutral, which left it as a blank canvas to build from with enhancers, jams, whatever you needs. I didn’t get a huge amount of grain/grainy-ness, and not sure if that detracted or not. All in, a nice accurate, true to name Shortbread Cookie, which was a blank canvas to build from. Minor take offs for lacking grains, but that’s about it. 8.8/10.

Shortbread Cookie (SSA) 2% (9-18-20) – Oh Nooo, another cookie ?? Think again. That’s what I thought going into this one, “Do we need another cookie” ?? Well, after trying this one, I think we DO. This review directly followed my review of SSA’s Raspberry Syrup, and I immediately wanted to mix the two of these. At 2%, this one was right on track, rich, full, buttery, and somehow, really captured the Shortbread aspect(s). Not sure how they did it, but it is clearly NOT a cookie, or biscuit, but lands smack, dab, in the middle of Shortbread city. One could say it is “similar” to Jungle Flavor’s biscuit, which presented almost as a pairing of INW Bicuit, and FA’s Cookie, but this one is much more than that. SSA apparently spent some time really nailing the shortbread aspect of this, and it shows. You almost get a grainy bakery in this one, coupled with some buttery goodness. Not topped out at 2%, and it felt great at this weight. Sweetness was almost mid level, with no real take-offs. Surely it could be push/pulled if needed, depending on your American vs. European bakery needs, but you might just find after testing it, that you wont. All in, this is an outstanding, and perhaps the best shortbread cookie (type) that I have tested. Didn’t really pick up any vanilla per se, and not 100% sure if I’m getting a smidge of almond or not, but possibly so. If you’re in the market for a great shortbread cookie, and/or love your bakeries, you’ll have to add this one to your list as well. Sorry guys, I’m trying to go critical on these flavors, but after 3 in, I’m having a hard time finding any faults thus far. I kept teetering on a rating, because you just can’t rate everything at the top, but I emptied an entire tester tank on this one as well, and was left with no negatives. A great bakery shortbread cookie here, with butter elements that just can’t be denied. 10/10.

Shortbread (CAP) 3.5% (1-17-22) – It appears that BCF is having a hard time keeping this one (and others) in stock, so must be a good sign, right ?? Hehe, we’ll just see about that. Initially when I tested this one, I did a DOUBLE TAKE. Now, not because it was terrible, or off-putting, but UNEXPECTED. What, you say ?? Well, I’d swear this one was almost like a Pumpkin Bread, but without the Pumpkin. Yes, you read that right. I double, and tripple checked, to make sure nothing was wrong on my end, and that’s what I get from this one. Now, this is going to be hell for me to rate, as it’s a GREAT flavor, I just don’t think it’s a shortbread. At times I could get a LITTLE buttery-ness, and almost shortbread-ed-ness, but the majority of the time, it presented as a pumpking bread, missing the pumpkin, or even a ginger bread, minus the ginger. Sound confusing, good, welcome to MY world. In no ways was it off-putting, but it really came across far too dark, and almost spice (like) to be a light, shortbread. If this is a shortbread, it’s like none that I’ve ever tried. Regardless of it’s namesake or lack thereof, it was actually hella delicious, for WHATEVER it was. Just below or at mid-level sweet, with literally no off-putting notes, and with no indication of hitting the ceiling. @ 4% it was a nice, rich, almost dark cookie, that (repeating) just leaned towards a pumpkin or gingerbread cookie more than anything else. NO overt spices, but it’s like they were IN there. Quite good, and damned fine, as a solo too boot. I am enjoying this one SOO much, I’m going to have to DOUBLE RATE it. No other way, it’s too good. OK, for a “shortbread cookie”, I would have to go low, maybe 5.5/10, BUT, as a (I have no clue), maybe a cookie base for a gingerbread, or pumpkin bread, I would have to rate it at a 10/10. You guys NEED to get this one, and YOU sound off, what YOU get from it. Don’t buy it to be used as a shortbread, but get it anyway, and ENJOY it, just like I am. Bad name Capella, but GREAT flavor !!!

I don’t have INW and I didn’t like CAP that much, average at best, it wasn’t shortbread to me.
SSA would win top for me but I also like WF, I’ve paired them together before with success. 2% WF and 1.5% SSA, a bit of Crumble Topping (1%) for good luck and near done.

Why not pick your favorite shortbread. For only 0.50 more just add butter CAP or any butter you have.

If you have FA Cookie, use it at 1% (it’s AP heavy) and drop the biscuit to 1%. That should do the trick!

is good, alone too! i swapped the ap with f cookie like you said and tuened biscuit to 1% so well see

Probably does. I named profiles not specific flavors. I’m trying it out now for a whole wheat bread taste. So I would say it’s full of AP.
