Can't figure out how to add nicotine to my existing recipe

me and him want the same thing, I tried salts at 50/50 and it didn’t have nearly enough throat hit

if he wants to recreate the feel of cigarillos then freebase would be the way to go IMO

freebase absorbs plenty fast i think

Someone mentioned freebase. Did some googling and am unclear as to the difference. It seems salt Nic will give me a better throat hit and a good dose of Nic. So, if salt nic absorbs “faster”., what’s the difference between freebase and salt?

Sorry, I’m REALLY old.

Retired, fixed income. Hate to spend money on both just to experiment.

Question. How to clean a tank and coil in preparation of trying a different, flavor?

Another question. I understand, the steep time on a dessert should be 2 weeks. Will there really be a significant difference for “testing” purposes?

Salt nic is relatively new. Salts are made from freebase By the addition of acids that change the PH of nicotine base. Changing the PH smooths the throat hit for higher nicotine levels.

Don’t get too excited yet. That 55mg/ml bottle you bought is too high with the equipment you are vaping with. 55mg/ml would be fine and dandy for a low powered pod device because it creates less vapor per pull. Using a high wattage device produces more vapor therefore more nicotine with each puff. It would make your head spin from nicotine consumption.

When I quit smoking I was smoking about two and a half packs a day. I started on a Novo a low powered pod at 17 mg/ml. It didn’t take me long to move up to high powered mods and tanks. I had to lower my nicotine in my mixes to compensate for the higher vapor contents. I moved down to 6mg/ml PG freebase. Throat hit was and still is important to me today and vape a 30 PG 70 VG and adequate enough to offset a fifty cigarette a day habit. If 6mg/ml doesn’t work for you you just have to take a few more puffs. Better to be safe than sorry at lower mix levels than too much nic consumed.

I’m not much different than you . I live off Social Security. You can buy smaller quantities of 100mg/ml PG to make your life ezer.

Stop saying that. Your as old as you think. @PaulyWalnuts it’s not you, it takes time to understand all this and learn how to use the calculator. When most of us started out we didn’t even have salts as an option. Just think of freebase as just regular nicotine. Salt nic is created by adding certain acids to the extraction process. Here’s an overview:

The key difference between salt nicotine and freebase nicotine extraction is that salt nicotine involves combining extracted nicotine with an acidic compound like benzoic acid to create a “salt” form, while freebase nicotine is extracted in its purest form without any additional acids, resulting in a harsher throat hit and requiring higher concentrations to achieve a similar nicotine delivery; essentially, salt nicotine is a chemically modified version of freebase nicotine that provides a smoother vaping experience at higher nicotine strengths.

In that case, this 81-year-old is 13!

Time to find a different vape shop. I’m very disappointed in the shop here in town. Salesman should have asked what type of mod I’m using. I asked what the strongest Nic he had was.

Comedian Richard Pryor told doctors he was mixing cocaine with ether - a new drug craze known as “freebasing” - and the materials exploded in his face, causing severe burns that threatened his life, police said Tuesday.

“I screwed up, man, I screwed up,” a neighbor quoted Pryor as screaming as he ran from his posh home in an apparent panic of pain.

That’s better! Yes, I know about the Richard Pryor story but freebase nicotine has nothing to do with that. If you followed what was said above you probably know that by now. I admire you trying to learn about vaping and get away from the stinky combustibles. Nowadays there are all kinds of devices, Juul being one of the easiest ones to use as well as disposable pods. I personally don’t like the idea of more throw away plastics. Besides, they’re not as fun as building your own coils, once you learn how to do that sort of thing. It’s a hobby for me now. I was looking for a hobby for 10 years when I started to vape. Little did I know it would become a hobby for me. Hang in there Pauly. The folks here are really nice and more than happy to help.

Yeah, yeah, I think I’m funny. Unlike my kids. They think I’m immature. 8 years old, got into plastic modeling. Then into model railroading. Looking for a new hobby, I wanted something I had to do a LOT of to get only a little done. Early 80’s, a friend turned me onto computers. Windows? No such thing! 10 lines of programing code to make the speaker go beep. HOOKED! Sold a cyber Security firm and retired.

Looked into building coils too. THAT’S fascinating and on my bucket list. Which seems to be filling up, faster than I can empty it.

Yep. Friendly and helpful folks here. Much appreciated!

Hey you’re looking for a place to buy nicotine? I buy mine from Central Vapors. This stuff is 100mg/ml it’s dangerous stuff. I don’t mean to scare you, you just gotta be careful with it. If you get it on you, you need to rinse it off immediately. You can’t spill this on your skin, becuase it can absorb and cause a horrible nicotine overdose. I personally don’t wear gloves when I’m dripping it into my bottles when making mixes. I just don’t get it on me, and even if I think I do, I got run and rinse it off.

Also, sorry if I missed anything are you using a scale? It’s so much easier to measure in mg on a scale than to measure out ml with a syringe. I did do that when I first started though. You need a scale that can measure 0.00mg the extra 0 on the right is important for accuracy purposes.

Make sure you select “propylene glycol base” and 50ml of 100mg should be plenty to start. I got 120ml when I first started and had it for way too long, and half of it spilled out too. Better to rotate and use fresh stuff.

I’m not sure what device you’re using, but I want to add when you use 100mg per ml nicotine 12mg would still be pretty high a for sub ohm type device because of the amount of vapor produced. On the other hand, seeing your cigarillo habit, you may be able to try that. If it makes you feel sick though you would want to use 6mg.

On the other hand, if you are using a lower powered device like a pod or some other mouth to lung device, you would use 12-24mg of nicotine in your mix.

And you can see in the calculator its preset for 100mg of nicotine per ml at 100pg, so it measures out how much you need for 6mg of nicotine. Which will be a very small amount added to the overall mix because it’s so concentrated.

If you get 100mg per ml of nicotine you could technically still use that gallon of VG/PG mix if your flavor is at 15% it would just end up being like 55/50 vg/pg but that would be really harsh of you’re using a sub ohm but would be fine in a lower powered mouth to lung device.

I just bought a 70 ml bottle 6 mg. All of my previous bottles were 100% ZERO nicotine. The calculator was fine with that. When I try to add nicotine it consistently tells me the the PG/VG ratio is off.

Someone edited my recipe, (don’t remember who) and said to modify it and see what’s different. The only thing I modified was the amount to make from 100 ml to 30 ml, and It still told me my PG/VG ratio is off.

I thought I understood, but it seems not so much. I don’t understand. My recipe’s are not private. Can/will anyone edit one of my recipes to take in consideration 6 mg of Nic

I own one gallon of PG/VG at 30/70. Just base. No nicotine. just bought a 70 ml bottle of 6 MG of nicotine. No tobacco. Just plain Nicotine. Please, would someone just edit this recipe to accommodate 6 mg of nicotine? Then I’ll understand.
It’s under Pauly Walnuts Bakery, almond joy.

Okay, I think we’re making progress… The Nic I just bought it VG based. Doesn’t say what ratio. 70 Ml. It says to mix 30 Ml flavor to create 100 Ml at 6 Mg. (I also bought a 12 Mg)

Oh, she’s sub Ohm alright. Smok Mag-18, tf18 coil. I ran her at 120 Watts. My Nic doesn’t say how many Mg/Ml. Damn right I use a scale! Just thought. That must be 6 Mg/Ml, right?

I do NOT want to make 100 Ml. 10, maybe 30 tops, until I know what I’m getting into. Lemme run it through the calculator and see if that stops the error. I tried 0 nicotine, then realized I still need the Nicotine. At least for a while.

Know what I thought would be fun? I’m in the U.S., but if I spell flavor, flavour, people would think I live in the UK. And if I say “No worries,” They’d think I live in the down-under.

As my good friend, the former Governor of California said, “I’ll be bach”. Not Mozart.

Ok, from what I understand you bought a plain, unflavored bottle nicotine at 6mg strength, and you plan to use it as a base for flavoring? I’m not sure how that would work exactly, but it’s much easier to get the ultra concentrated 100mg per ml nicotine, VG and PG all separate. I wish you luck!

No, I have flavorings. 4% chocolate and almond, 7% coconut. I have a gallon of 30/70 PG/VG. I just don’t know the ratio of the VG that’s in the nicotine. I asked for 100% nicotine. People here speak English, but I don’t think they understand it.

Searching for 100% Nicotine, in a few.

Right here. This is where I buy mine. It’s kind of a pain to find places that sell it in small quantities. It’s mostly wholesalers. The smallest bottle they sell goes a long way. I had a problem with the 120ml bottle leaking, and it just lasts too long and gets all oxidized. Best to get the smallest one they have. It should last months.

Just make sure you select “PG base” when you order it.

Most likely you won’t find 100 mg/ml nicotine PG or VG on the shelf of a Tobacco vape shop. You will need to buy it on line. If you need help just ask.

I already have PG/VG 30/70. I can’t find liquid nicotine with out PG or VG. None say what the ratio is. I.E. is it 50% nicotine . 50% VG. I think I need 100 % nicotine with no base?

I think base means PG/VG, does it not?
