Agreed. I’m thankful that I’ve never been attracted to disposable vapes.
My understanding is that the IPCC provides regular assessments and summaries for policymakers, they’re not the policymakers themselves. Not to say that there couldn’t be bad actors within the IPCC cozying up to policymakers but there are scientists within the IPCC who have been correcting policymakers on their bad decisions, as well. In the end, maybe it’s impossible at this point to know what’s really going on within that theatre but this is my understanding from what information is available to me.
ETA: Maybe this is a better representation of what I was trying to say. In this light, I could see how the IPCC could play an opposing role to the higher good. Well meaning scientists offer their assessments to the IPCC but the organization doesn’t necessarily convey it properly.
Hundreds of experts in different fields volunteer their time and expertise to produce IPCC reports. Thousands more contribute to the review process and to the literature and other knowledge that are assessed in IPCC reports. These scientists are not paid by the IPCC . Here are different ways to get involved.
It is urgent Dan.
I can totally understand how you feel. Some of the more senior members here myself included came from an era where we didn’t just simply throw things away if they were broken because we would either try to fix them ourselves or get them fixed by someone who knew how to do so or send them back to the manufacturer if they were still under warranty. We probably saved up long and hard for such items to just simply throw them away. Sadly these days it seems that many things aren’t made to be repaired if they become faulty many of which the manufacturers themselves don’t even bother to repair and just replace with new ones. Cheap parts and labour obviously has a big part to play in this but it’s also a mindset that the modern world has adopted, as we say “it’s a throwaway world”. Hats off to DOVPO for what they are doing and I just hope that other companies will take note and follow suit. This world has become LAZY, IMPATIENT, WASTEFUL and GREEDY which to me are the biggest issues when it comes down to climate change. If we can change those ways we may just stand a chance.
Truth. I was trying to put Greedy, Lazy, Impatient and Wasteful in order but I can’t decide which we are the most of.
I forgot that I wanted to address this statement. If you are interested you should read
the book builds on the premise that a highly advanced “lost civilization” operated in prehistory but was destroyed in a global catastrophe.
Younger Dryas impact hypothesis, suggesting that around 10,800 BC the fragments of a large comet struck the earth, causing widespread destruction, climate change, and sea-level rise. He then recounts that the survivors of this catastrophe, the titular “Magicians”, dispersed across the world to pass on the knowledge of their lost civilization
Proud parent eh? I would be, I wish my 13 year old would read a book on his own. I have to make and make him I do. Hopefully, I can find that book on Audible. Thanks for the info I am looking forward to learning about it from someone that knows the data and Hans Rosling seems to have it. I watched the TED talk too. Very interesting to say the least.
Very cool. Im gonna watch that tonight.
It’s a battle for everyone. Electronic devices are a blessing and a curse.
There’s a Joe Rogan episode on You Tube with Randall Carlson and Graham Hancock about the Younger Dryas impact. It’s very interesting what their theory is. I think it’s episode #872. I watched it like 4 times. Later on another video they talk about the Hiawatha Impact Crater that was found in Greenland not to long ago dated around the same 10,800 year mark. You folks need to watch it and see all the devastation they think this thing caused.
Including some parts of cars my mechanic told me. To be exact, the body repairman. I had a brass washer that had worn which was part of the door hinge making the door not line up. He said in the old days you could just order a new washer and replace it. Today, I would have to replace the entire door!
I’m with you on that. Garbage, garbage everywhere, even in our oceans. It’s testament to the disrespect of life itself, imo.
Wow, I’m psyched by all the info everyone is contributing to this thread…so interesting. Can’t wait to look at all of it.
I’m a good half way through False Alarm and he’s emphasizing adaptation along with innovation. Adaptation has been a sore subject among climate campaigners because it signals admission of defeat or distracts from the idea of cutting co2 emissions. But in reality humans have been adapting for 1000s of years.
Ya, I watched them several times too and then I started reading the books and those guys are brilliant. Randal Carlson has a web page too.
Randall Carlson
and I see he has updated it and man it’s nice.
check junkyards or “pick-a-part” junkyards are better.
definitely a cool thread.
So fascinating!! I have always been fascinated with Atlantis and now I’m pretty sure I know what happened. If that doesn’t grab ya by the curiosity, what will?
Where can I view these? Also, I put Magicians of the Gods on my reading list, too.
Excellent book. I like reading Graham’s stuff because he makes statistics interesting. LOL if that is even possible. Anyway, I am in the middle of reading “America Before” by Graham Hancock. and it is very interesting. He blows the lid off of modern Archeologists’ stance on who, what, when, and where when it comes to the Americas. Unfortunately, a lot of history and earthworks were destroyed during the European conquest.
Off Topic, but is Bob Lazar credible?
is it off topic? Seems like one of the threads to me.
Bob Lazar Man, I don’t know bro. There are a few things I am stuck on when it comes to him. I am definitely interested in what you think.
you may be interested in this next part here.
Have you heard of these guys they call themselves the Behaviour Panel and this is the most fascinating stuff anywho, they are body language experts and they talk about and debate diffirent interviews and they did Bob Lazar.
I mean it’s pretty undeniable he has the knowledge of someone who atleast knows someone on the inside for me, it’s just from watching interviews on Joe Rogan how he presents himself is a bit weird, and I didn’t care for the movie maker on the show myself, seemed too shilly… But there are things that interest me like his interest in the Element that was discovered recently that he talks about many years ago, like who has that information?! And until recently, I found a post on reddit that was an actual legitimate news paper article about him that states his academic level, which was in queston because he can’t even recall his professor’s names… Is he that much of an intellectual type that those things escaped him? Not comparing him, but smart sciency types like Einstein couldn’t tie their shoe laces, so you could say that someone of his stature couldn’t remember professors. Or is he forgetting to try and protect them in someway from collateral damage that had happened to him, how they tried erasing his history (why I found the news article bit interesting, because without that it’s just a claim they erased his past). The other thing I find interesting, is skin walker ranch… Now, lemme tell ya a bit about this interview with Tom Delonge and an Ex CIA guy, can’t rmeember his name… They pretty much confirmed that this stuff was undoubtedly happening there, they seemed to have more info on it than what is led to be believed even exists. Which is cool, frightening but cool.
Very true, and I agree. A lot of those guys have a lot of stuff in their heads and they don’t fill it with inconsequential things
I think I know the one you are talking about.
I NEED to know wtf is going on their!!! Now they got a real science guy and are doing a show on the history channel which really sucks because I can’t get the history channel unless I get cable, which I will NEVER do.
I did a lot of research on skinwalker ranch. As much as I could anyway.
Have you heard of missing 411? Books by a man named David Paulides. He investigates missing persons that go missing under very mysterious situations. Like we were looking at him turned around and turned back and they were GONE. Mostly in National Parks.
I wonder if we should start another thread? @muth I feel like this might be a bit off-topic but this is a code red in my opinion but this is your thread my dear.
Oh, I don’t care. If it’s easier to just stay put, carry on. It’s all interesting stuff. The first documentary I posted re climate change had to do with the advanced technology they’re not telling us about. The kind you can only learn from people like Lazar and ahem, unearthly intelligent beings.
Besides, I believe in following the flow of thought. You never know where it might take you.
