I remember only too well.
My response was that if Iām laying down wire then I damn well want to use what Iāve made lol.
This really was just a play around using wire, so I totally get what you were talking about.
The hardest part was keeping 2 screwdrivers from separating in my hands while I hand wrapped the extra coil wire between the standard coils.
There was just far too much wire though in this coil to be effective enough to use.
Next try if I use 29g Nichrome as a core it maybe a different story whether Iāll wick it or not lol

Hereās some pics.
Firstly triple twisted 29g Nichrome80 in parallel on a 2.4mm 5 wraps each per coil .10ohms basically a zipper coil.
Next up this is a fused 28g Clapton but with a slight difference in the wrapper. The wrapper used both 38g Nichrome80 and 39g Kanthal.

Iāve been using fishing swivels for a few weeks.
I first saw one used on Twisted Messes vids.
But Iāve seen Prestine Builds using them in his vids too.
Convicted vapes is using a different one to me. Heās using the snap swivel where the ones in using are the ones he says that the wire catches on.

DAMN all you guys have some serious MAD SKILLS!! I have yet to dive into building my own coils and after scrolling through all 400+ posts Iām speechless!
I kinda feel like a guy who has never drawn in his life and then was handed the mona lisa and told to paint itā¦
All those coils are works of art guys!

Donāt feel too out of your depth.
Iāve been making coils since April this year.
If it hadnāt been for @Pro_vapes helping me through my coil building journey I would not be anywhere near where I am now.
The good thing about this thread I created shows my own progression in coil building quite nicely.
Starting with basic builds such as twisted Kanthal leading to claptons, fused claptons and beyond.
When you do start building make sure you get yourself in this thread and post your coils.
in here we can help you progress with coil building.
I started initially by watching RIPTRIPPERS on YouTube then went into TwistedMesses, Squidoode, VapeStation and Kyle Fonger from VaporHut.
By getting my feet wet with a mech mod and some 28g Kanthal I then went on with @Pro_Vapes guidance to wrapping some silky looking coils.
Itās @Pro_Vapes aka MetalMaster who dubbed me CMJ (Coil Master J) lol.
If you fancy trying your hand at any claptons check out the BASEMENT where this thread is located for the CLAPTON TOOL.
This one tool that @Pro_vapes posted about catapults your Clapton making into an easy to do wrap.

I will thanks a lot @Jondamon! Have any of you guys considered making a tutorial like video? With some of these beautiful builds I think that would help people like myself immensely! Forgive me if you already have I didnāt search through the threads for one yet-
So through some research in the threads is Titanium or stainless still my best option? I would be building on a crown with a mod that supports both Ti and TC or do you think starting with a lesser wire is the best option for a noob like myself?

If youāre going TC then forget fancy builds of coils.
Yo @Pro_vapes someone mentioned TC time for you to chime in.
Pro_Vapes has found very simple Ti builds around .05-.07 using 24g Ti to give best flavour and Vapor on a TC mod.

Yeah Iāve been part of some of his topics on TC coils and if I remember correctly he had some great things with the crown/TC
Thereās a few comments of his I plan on following when it comes time, I know he is probably feeling a bit like a robot now by repeating the same things over and over 
I also want to get into other builds as well

When you build intricate coils you need a device thatās capable of delivering pretty high watts.
My M80 only just keeps up with some of my builds.
My single 18650 mech, I can run through a battery just firing and pinching coils.
Get yourself into twisting wires first, maybe try some parallel wrap coils then move to claptons and fused claptons.
Wire I would recommend to start trying out building with initially would be
24, 26, 28 as a core wire
32, 34, 36 as wrapper wires
Most people tend to use 26 or 28g core wire with initially 32g wrapper as itās easier to work with as a beginner.
Then progress from there.
And yeah @Pro_Vapes is one hell of a guy. Heās so into vaping itās not even funny any more lol.
Dude could open his own Vape shop with his DIY selection and all his gear.
Between you and me I think heās got a problem, remember the first rule of Vape Club @Pro_vapes lol.

I agree but I wish I was better at guessing titanium & number of wraps I prefer a .6 but I end up with .06 ā¦ Nite to self less is moreā¦lol

with temp control a perfectly spaced not so huge coil is all u need for immense flavor in my crown I have a 6wrap .5ti around a 2.5mm coiler spaced ever so and damn!!!

Besides the wire obviously, what is the best equipment/ohm calculator or whatever I need? Iāve seen the little units next door at the vape shop and tbh I donāt know exactly what they are called? I know what they do for the most part but I didnāt know if there is anything specific I should be looking for? Especially building on Ti, etc
