In case you can’t tell the above pictures were trying to be
26/32 Claptons on the outside with 4 strands of .5mm ribbon in the centre wrapped with 32 to staple it together.
Now here’s some pics of my PV setup with a fused Clapton that’s got 317L 25AWG cores with a 36awg wrapper.
5 wraps 2mm ID .18ohms
She’s chucking big time!!!
Man o man 317 is insane!!
Instant ramp up, super hot, super dense MASSIVE flavour, oh yeah and did I mention clouds lol.

I just got me:
- Kanthal A1 32 AWG - 10 meters
- Twisted Kanthal A1 Type Wire - 0.25mm x 2 Wraps - (30 AWG ) - 10 Meters
- 317L Grade Stainless Steel Wire - 0.5mm (500 Micron - 24 AWG) - 10 Meters
- Kanthal A1 0.13mm (37 AWG) - 50 meters!
I plan to experiment with claptons 
I already have some 26 AWG / 0.4mm Titanium wire (20 meters)…

Crazy wire company order?
Claptons are pretty cool to start you off wrapping wires.
Then you can venture into claptons with parallel Kanthal.
Then claptons with twisted Kanthal in parallel.
Then twisted claptons.
Then spaced twisted claptons.
Then fused claptons.
Then staggered claptons.
Then before you know it you have a graveyard of coils and all you can think about is what wire you’re going to wrap next lol.
It’s a downward spiral dude @daath lol.

You made any claptons before?
I use a variation of @NewDrip tool.
I use the spool and stiff wire along with the pipettes but I also thread that through a 1ml syringe that I’ve notched to accommodate the core I’m using.
Hang on I’ll take a pic
This allows me increase or decrease tension by having a short or long space between the pipettes and the syringe.

I haven’t tried doing a clapton before 
I’ll make a pipette tool as well. The syringe looks like a good idea as well!
The syringe helps with tension in my case.
Tight wrapped claps require a lot of tension.
Loose wrapped claps require less tension.

Made some new wires today.
Firstly I made some Tiger wire using 26g Kanthal and 0.1mmx0.5mm Ribbon wire. Here’s how it looks.
Secondly I’m not sure if this has been done before but I twisted some 28g in a tight twist.
Took 2 lengths and fuse wrapped the 2 together with 36g.
Here’s how it looks.

I love that you include me in these despite the fact that I’ve never twisted a wire in my life. And I’m being totally honest, I really do love it. I really like seeing all you guys’ pictures. They’re really pretty…I’m wanting to learn how to do it just for the fact that it looks so dang cool! I just hope I’m able to figure it out once I get all my stuff in. To the youtubes!

Your build looks real good. I’m sure it’s never been done here. I have fused two Clapton’s before but never to twist.

I remember that you like the asthetic aspect to wire making and coil building so I include you in the mentions.

I do! And I’m sure it is! Frankly, I’m a little worried…I’m supposed to start ‘real’ school in the Fall and I’m gonna be sitting in class dreaming about wires and coils and juice. LoL

It fused really easily and uniformly as well.
I did try and match up the twist pattern before locking them into the chuck as a simple fold of the wire looked like it would throw off the fusing so I snipped 2 pieces and lined them up.
I think I’m going to wrap a coil with the fused twisted 28 right now.
Seeing as I have my box all nicely organised. Lol.
And the white folded paper on the first picture contains…
My pre made wires lol.
I’m just OCD about coil building. Lol.

.24ohms before firing and .3ohms after firing and getting it to glow from the inside out.
I’m about to wick it and taste one of my new recipes on it.
Keep your eyes peeled for a cloud picture.
Ramp up was pretty quick too considering there’s 4 strands of 28 and fair amount of 36g.
