I’m not becoming an artist, I’m becoming obsessed lol.
But thanks I’m trying hard to perfect certain builds and wraps.
I’ve got my claptons down now and my fused claptons, twisted wire is pretty straight forward, tiger wire was my first ever attempt tonight.
I’m really happy with how my building is progressing, coils are looking silky, wire making is getting really good.
I tried making a Clapton with 32g with 36g wrapper but it snagged and snapped after about 4" of it.
The 4" I did make though was perfect.
So I think I need to find a way to anchor my wire so I can hold the tension better when wrapping the 32/36.
I’ll find something in work tomorrow like TWISTED MESSES used to allow a wire to free spin (it’s some kind of fishing adaptor) then I’ll make a load of 32/36 and try @NewDrip Clapton wrapper wire.

Triple Parallel, Clapton 26g Ni60 core w/ 32g Kanthal over and 2x 2 strand twisted 32g Kanthal.

I’ve figured it out!!!
It’s a condition called
OCBD
Obsessive Coil Building Disorder!!!
Definition.
Unable to stop building coils and wrapping wire regardless of the time of day.
OCBD only eases once the first fire and tighten has created a perfectly glowing coil.

So I’m busy in work and it hits me!
I’m gonna twist either 32 or 36 Kanthal and use that as a Clapton wrap on some 24 or 26g and see what happens.
I might even try it as the wrapper in a fused build.
Not much being made just enough for a couple of coils.
I’ll update once I’ve created it later. Lol.
OCBD kicking in again lol.

Not a coil I was planning to make but thought I would wrap this instead for now.
It’s a 26/26/36 with 26/.5 tiger wire 5/4 on a 2mm ID ohming at .18

So here is my transformer coil build.
It utilises
2x 26/36 claptons fused with .1x.5mm ribbon wire, wrapped in parallel with 24g.
All Kanthal build clocking in at .18ohms on a 2.5mm ID.

Great googly moogly man! I own dozens of atty’s and not a single one could handle that much wire. #coilpr0n

That’s utter BS lol you’re just scared to try it lol.
I could easily fit this build in my PV and PV1.5.
But then I have drilled out my post holes. Lol.

Drilling out SS pisses me off too much, hehe. I have several IGO-W top caps that are only partially drilled out. I really should bring them and one of the PV’s out to my folks barn, they have a drill press. Some of the awesome looking wire ND sent me is too big for my PV post holes and im dying to try them out.

You can get very fine round filing tools too.
Thats initially how I made my PV post holes larger just run a file through them for a few minutes.
Worked a treat, but to be perfectly honest it took seconds to drill them out.
I went with a 1.5mm drill bit and then a 2.0mm.

I have a set of dremel bits on the way from FT, someone on their forums suggested them the other night and they went right in the cart. FT must love me, my 53rd-56th orders are in route.

Both my MutationX and my Stillare clones are using the stock post holes at present!
It’s these 2 drippers that I tend to build my more extravagant coils into.
No issues yet when mounting my coils so far.

I’ve rebuilt my Mutation X clone with a Transformer coil that came in at .24ohms.
ive used 28/36 claptons fused with .5mm ribbon wire wrapped in parallel with 26/.5mm tiger wire on a 2mm ID.
It’s a 6/5 in favour of the tiger wire.
Here’s a collage.
Flavour and vapour production on this build are superb!
Flavour is coming through much much crisper than any coil I’ve tried to date!

Some new wire I’ve just made.
Twisted 32g Kanthal wrapped over a 26g Kanthal core.
For a twisted Clapton wrap.
I’ve made around 9" of this wire.
This wire consists of around 9" of 26g Kanthal with approx 12ft of 32g Kanthal wrapped around it.

Ramp up takes a while, about 4s until full.
But look how pretty she is.

Came in at .61 ohms.
This would work wonderful on a regulated box.
I’m just about to wick her up and see how she tastes.

Once she’s ramped up the flavour is great and she chucks a fair amount too.
