I used a 1ml syringe with a notch in the tip to wrap the twisted 32 around the 26g core.
I made the twisted 32 by using my cupboard door handle to anchor the wire around and then the drill to twist it.

New wire created tonight.
This is 9 strands of .5mm ribbon with a spaced over wrap of 36g Kanthal.

Damn, your pics are so fancy! Ive been playing with computers since the 70’s and cant do what you do.
Lol I haven’t used a computer at home since about 2010 lol.
All these collage pics are done using my iPhone.

@jondamon or anyone really. Was wondering if it would be worth my time and effort to build a nice clapton for my smok magneto telescoping mech mod with a sony vtc4 18650 battery and kanger subtank plus. I usually just use a standard 5 wrap of 28g on 2mm screw driver. It gives me a nice hit of flavor and a nice cloud of vapor too
In short yes it most drfinately would be worth your time.
You don’t want to build a Clapton that’s too low though as I think you may get a dry hit here or there in a subtank if you’re too low.
Claptons are flavour chasing builds.
If you have any 32g or 36g then make yourself a test piece of Clapton.
Around a 5wrap on a 2mm ID should give you a similar ohms to your standard wrap as the electricity takes the path with the least resistance through a coil.
Look for the any man Clapton.
Basically you use a pen to wrap a Clapton.
Or you can do it he old fashioned way and use your finger and thumb.
But in short yes it’s definitely worth it!!!

Thanks J. I’m gonna work on a couple test clapton coils at some point soon here. Just gotta order some 32g and start wrapping. I’ll post a picture or two when I got it done. Thanks for the incite. Always appreciated.
I’ll buy both gauges of wire cheap enough. See what works better for me. Any tips on how to mount it to the subtank?
To be honest with you I’m an RDA man.
Maybe check out YouTube and see if anyone’s mounted it in a specific way.
But to be honest as long as you’ve got clearance for your cap it shouldn’t matter too much which way you mount it.

Yeah I’ll check it out. The rba deck on the subtank seems like it might be kinda small for a nice clapton. Gonna have to mess with it
I’ve just checked out RipTrippers rebuilding the RTA section on the mini Subtank.
He was using 26g Kanthal 5 wraps for a .54ohm build.
IMO no reason why you couldn’t do a similar build with a 28/32 or a 28/36 Clapton coil with maybe 3 or 4 wraps should give a similar ohm reading on a 2mm ID.

Tomorrow i pic up my first smartphone, Droid Turbo or some crap. I got it for the 21mp camera, hehe.
Crazy the things one can do on a phone these days.
All my tanks has Claptons in them. I even have a couple with dual Fused claptons. Just keep your ID 2mm or less and 5 to 8 wraps and you will be fine. I just put dual 8 wrap Claptons in my Billow v2 and it not too low ohms. This is 28g 317L with 36g Kanthal wrapper.
ur gonna love it that’s what I am using rt now… so cool and fast
Did u build one yet?
I didn’t I even bought some finished UD clapton wire, but I didn’t even wrap a coil with it yet
I’m gonna do it soon - I’ll try with my 37 GA wire
Big shout out to @NewDrip for sparking my interest in the Petri DotMod clone and Rampage Clone.
I’ve put a simple .27ohm build in the rampage, triple coil on a 2.5mm ID 7 wrap with 26g Kanthal.
This thing is most definately a competition RDA it throws clouds with ease, flavour is a little muted with a standard wire build.
Here is the Petri.
With a .24ohm build with twisted 28 fused with 36g on a 2.5mm ID 4 wraps.

I noticed you speak about ramp up times. Do you have a dual battery device? It will really help shorten the ramp up on those big coils. The SS wire will help with ramp up too. Good job btw!
