This guy makes a very good case for how bad this virus just might be.

It’s crazy here in America… Some Americans don’t believe anything anymore unless the right person says it… until tonight he said it was no biggie, but tonight he held an oval office broadcast with steps he’s taking to combat this virus and save the economy… maybe he’s starting to take it serious, so I expect a lot of attitudes will change and align with him. He is the Great American Persuader after all!

Ya, that’s so scary.
But I’m glad to hear it sounds like it will be taken serious now.

I really hope we can throw partisan politics aside for this, if we can’t then sad day for the US.

Some good news after all

From what I’ve gleaned on the web we can’t. It’s the same BS as usual.

I had to thank my buddy for all that… just figured I would share the good news… :stuck_out_tongue:

What is sad is Special Olympics here has been cancelled and I have my fingers crossed the event I am headed to end of the month, won’t cancel. With how it is looking tho… I might not get to show my guitars and other things off… Will just have to see. I don’t need to be catching any of the crud… I know the count is going up for my state…

In Australia

As at 11:00 hrs on 12 March 2020, we have 126 confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), including 3 deaths, in Australia.

  • 64 in New South Wales

  • 17 in Queensland

  • 8 in South Australia

  • 2 in Tasmania

  • 18 in Victoria*

  • 7 in Western Australia

  • 10 associated with the Diamond Princess cruise ship

  • Note: Victoria case count includes a case detected in NSW. Under the National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System reporting requirements the case is considered a Victorian case.

Of the 126 Australian cases reported, 24 of these cases are reported to have recovered.

The Australian Government has unveiled a comprehensive $2.4 billion health package to protect all Australians, including vulnerable groups such as the elderly, those with chronic conditions and Indigenous communities, from the coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Australian Government has secured additional surgical, P2 and N95 masks for the National Medical Stockpile, for medical and aged care professionals to care for patients with suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19.

The Prime Minister has announced the activation of the Australian Health Sector Emergency Response Plan for Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Since we can’t stop all the cancellations, closures, and quarantines (whether we think they are wise or not), I can only hope that they prove to have effectiveness in controlling the outbreak. But I don’t see how they will. I read a story this morning about a fellow who knew he had the virus but chose to fly from New York to Florida anyway. And another about a father and daughter that also broke home quarantine orders and attended a school dance anyway. And I’m sure there are more stories like that.

Absolutely and not at all surprising. Politicians and the media brought this on themselves. They hyperbole and simple horseshit that has been spewed over the last 50 years leaves neither with any credibility.

I’ll listen to a voice like that long before I will listen to anything WHO says. Considering their bought and paid for stance against vaping, they have zero credibility with me.
