Coronavirus

I believe you are correct their profile says it’s Bagsvaerd which is Denmark. This Corona thing is getting out of hand. I’m just keepin’ on 'til my card gets pulled.

That’s ridiculous. I mean this is getting stupid. Playing to empty stadiums? Fist fights over toilet paper? Prepping for zombie apocalypse? Over cough due to cold? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Social media is dooming us.

I have a gas grill with stove top eyes and the propane, also a charcoal grill so good on that end. I may finally get that generator I’ve been trying to convince him we need for two years too. Our well is actually run by electricity.

More than likely there will come a time when you will need it… IMO that’ll be a very smart investment. If I would have had one my life would not have skipped a beat after that tornado.

If no one I know gets this virus and die then I’ll probably feel the same way… most things in life seem a bit petty and overrated… until it hits close to home. I think I heard there were 30 death’s in the US, but even still that leave a lot more mourning the deaths of friends and loved ones. I just hope all this is being over played… we will find out in time.

It is @Pro_Vapes, some of it political, some of it for ratings, and other reasons. Doesn’t mean we can stop it though. I hate to say it, but there hasn’t been any “fumbling” done by our president, any more than any president (or other) in every other country that it has spread to, through, and worse. Because “fumbling” was mentioned, it would seem the CDC really “fumbled” on this one, and quite badly.

We can’t waste any time blaming any leaders for this, except MAYBE where it started, but that’s another story. I don’t feel the need to buy bat meat from open air meat markets, so I can’t comment on that.

What we SHOULD be spending our time on is realizing that it’s here, can’t stop it, but start putting additional pressure on the CDC, who’s actual JOB it is, to spearhead things, just like this. I mean, it’s not kinda their job, it’s their MAIN job.

As far as how many people will die here, I cannot hazard to guess, but the elderly, and sick ARE at risk. I don’t know what we as citiznes can really do, except to be SMARTER than the average bear. Stop hugging and kissing everyone you meet, stop licking doorknobs, etc (kidding). Wash hands MUCH more than normal, if you get sick from Corona, you’ve already infected others, so sheltering in place won’t reverse who you’ve infected already, but can lessen any more exposures.

I’m not stockpiling anything except tears at this point, from watching my 401k’s tank hard ass style, BUT, it will shortly be a buyers market. I just got back from the store in Delaware, and GREAT NEWS, we have water, sanitizer, AND toilet paper, so if you need any, we’ve got plenty.

GREAT NEWS !!! it’s officially a “pandemic” now. Not surprised. How many countries has it been discovered in now ?? Too many. No one’s stopping it, no one’s preventing it’s spread, and no one’s curing it yet, so all we can do is remain hopeful. Watch OUT for our elderly and/or sick neighbors, friends, co-workers, maybe even go out FOR them so they don’t have to, and THAT is what I think we can do to help.

Coronavirus sucks, and wish we could stop it, but we can’t.

One point to remember, before anyone goes running out to fist fight for some toilet paper…

So far, the new coronavirus has led to more than 100,000 illnesses and more than 3,000 deaths worldwide. But that’s nothing compared with the flu, also called influenza. In the U.S. alone, the flu has caused an estimated 34 million illnesses, 350,000 hospitalizations and 20,000 deaths this season, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Denmark and Italy are trying - both countries are shut down. Lots of other (European) countries have put measures in place, such as banning gatherings of more than 100 people, limiting public transport, closing schools etc etc.

You can keep up to date with the spread:

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

Bear in mind that the numbers are in fact much higher (“shadow numbers”) as they only record the cases that has been tested positive. Tons of people who are infected will never be tested.

Keep safe, guys

I wasn’t sure so I had to check because it almost sounded like the CDC is a private org but it is part of the fed. But I guess the buck stops there. Who knew?

US Military Budget = $700,000,000,000
CDC Budget = $1,700,000,000

Roger that @Pro_Vapes. Sadly I have just as much to loose as anyone else, by their failings. We’ll see if they get their act together. We are all in this together.
