What is interferon alfa-2b?

Interferon alfa-2b is made from human proteins. Interferons help your body’s immune system respond to bacteria, viruses, cancer, or other invading substances.

Interferon alfa-2b is used to treat hairy cell leukemia, malignant melanoma, follicular lymphoma, Kaposi’s sarcoma caused by AIDS, and certain types of genital warts. Interferon alfa-2b is also used to treat chronic hepatitis B or C in adults, and to treat chronic hepatitis B in children who are at least 1 year old.

@Mikser for the win on the 411.

@fidalgo_vapes here’s the question though. Has the FDA cleared it for anti-corona ??

With our luck the FDA will drag their feet, OR, they’ll continue to focus on my Fruit Loops flavors in the mean time…

“two weeks ago, Italy had 322 confirmed cases of the coronavirus. At that point, doctors in the country’s hospitals could lavish significant attention on each stricken patient.” “One week ago, Italy had 2,502 cases of the virus” " Today, Italy has 10,149 cases of the coronavirus. Regardless of what anyone thinks stay safe and be smart . Unfortunately WE dont ever have all the facts , and as much as we like to point the finger and blame others for them Assuming this or that keep in mind we also only have the ability to assume based on what we want to read or hear …I pray and hope that this is just another scare that passes quickly and only has a very small rate of fatality . I am choosing to play it as safe as possible . My mother lives with me and is diabetic also has other health problems …Take care of yourself and those around you…Belive it or Don’t believe it , but please be mindful that we unfortunately never have the real facts

I would rather precaution be taken & it turns out to be less serious than take no precautions & know that something could have been done

Never a bad time to take precautions. I know I’m wiping down all my “sick sticks” aka mods/tanks with alcohol, and cell phones too. Never hurts to kill off the dirties.

The school where I work is preparing to close and continue classes by video lessons.
Isn’t that technology widely available elsewhere?

Edit; I just got an email from the school that our government has decided to keep the schools open.
According to them the risk of infection in school kids is extremely small and it would put too much of a strain on all the working parents if schools close.
Time will tell if they have taken a sensible decision here or if they are just gambling with our lives because the economy is more important.

Well we are in a “State of Emergency” here in Rhode Island whatever that means, last I heard there was 5 cases reported. I just stopped in Wally World to pick up some hand soap and sanitizer and the place is totally cleaned out, empty shelves, no peanut butter, beans, can goods, no TP either! This is crazy!
I did see some Corona flip-flops on clearance

Anything that we can do to avoid this ^^ is a good thing.

And we won’t get them given the panic that has already occurred.

:+1: and Hand Washing :+1:

Ours are staying open for now.
A confirmed case of a student at a high school today (Fri) two classes of students to be contacted and to self-contain & school to be cleaned over the weekend. Student caught from parent, who was diagnosed positive yesterday.

I can’t say, no kids in my house but schools seem to have a lot of tech - that is a great idea tho :+1:
