The science is there. They’ve known for a long time that zinc interferes with RNA replication. It wouldn’t take long to test the hypothesis in vitro. They’d be able to see the RNA reconstruction go awry. Get 50-60 scientists to do the same lab experiment. If the RNA fails roughly around the same genetic sequence (oh hell, if they can just see it fail) then move forward.
The zinc cation is there… the ionophore of the Z-pack fits, they’ve seen that in vitro. they can have 10 labs look to see if the ionophore moves the zinc into the cell or not. There are other ionophores out there. They have to know by now which ones will work or not. I’ve been studying it 1/2 the day trying to understand. I started simple and moved into the clinical study results.
In vitro, the zinc is transported into the cell. Actually, the more hydroxychloroquine applied, the more Cl bonds to the Zn in the reaction during passage. They have plenty of studies on it. This scientist isn’t in the field of saving lives I see. Not when it’s staring him in the face. Sorry, but in his position reality bites. He needs to get his game face on.
The efficacy issue is resolved rather simply… offer the regimen to 200-300 people in at roughly the same stage. If they all take it… see how many live or die. then calculate the raw percentage off of the average and move forward. Each subject that’s treated, record the results. We don’t need the blind side part of the study. We’re going to get it off of empirical evidence.
It’s game time. They should have had a sample of that virus simply to come up with a treatment for it when it was found out about.
There is rumor that Wohan has a biological warfare facility there. The CIA would know about that. Trump walked out blind and we have no idea if the CIA informed him or not.
It’s a matter of what he knew, when he knew, and why the hell didn’t he act on what his advisors told him to if they knew??? That’s a question I want answered.

I think Trump messed up on an astrological level. Dr. Fauci is the fall guy in this. Had it been me? I’d have looked the president square in the eye, tell him that the have no data on one patient yet. If the president would authorize it, they could try it on 20 people but 20 people might die. Then I’d tell him it’s best to try it on mid stage patients not terminal ones. That gives a clear proof of toxicity.
Basically, He’s telling the president to fire him…

That’s part of this pandemic. The politics of medicine, the BS of protocols when people are dying. I know I upset @Raven-Knightly this morning by being such a dick. It hurts to see a Dr./scientist not try to take advantage of the situation to gather empirical data.
Let it be the patient’s choice. I still think that if he had 2 deaths out of 40 an 38 got better, that’s 38 less people this pandemic’s killed. If those #'s become the norm then the death rate from it would plummet. Empirical evidence is all there’s left at this point. No time for a double blind study.

There usually isn’t that many tourists around here until summertime, I live on the coast and the motel across the street is packed, I see alot of New York license plates and they are coming/going in and out all day long.
The Governor has now ordered the State Police to stop all vehicles with NY tags at the state line, and put National Guard at bus / train stations. All people entering Rhode Island from New York must quarintine for two weeks. But I’m not sure how they will enforce this.

It’s getting crazy out there. NYC though is a precursor to what’s going to happen to most big cities I think. When people are scared, they want hope. This government isn’t doing that.
As president, sometimes you have to make the hard choices. Telling the Dr. publicly to try it with some authority behind the statement shows the attempt. If the news wants to beat him up if people die from it, He has 1 answer… “They were dying already and it was their choice. all we did was offer”
Anymore guff from the press and all he has to say is, “People are dying. Remember that. I don’t have time to answer to the press for attempting to save lives” then say nothing more.
I’m losing faith in his leadership. It’s when they start dying more he’ll wish they’d tried. It won’t hurt his #'s to say he tried. Liberal people might not like him for that but again, all he has to say is,
“They aren’t the one who has to be president. The decision’s not in their hands to be faced to make. These are Americans and we have to try to do anything they want us to do at this point”.
That’s what made Reagan great. He wasn’t afraid to stare someone down. Obama wouldn’t have put up with questions like that either during these times.
I’m down the middle. I want those drugs to be proven or dis-proven.
@Pro_Vapes, The science is sound behind it. I see nothing demonstrating the 2 medicines are antagonistic. Unless unforeseen circumstances appear I don’t see why it’s not attempted more?
Here’s the big question for you to answer everyone:
You have COVID-19 and are going to be put on a ventilator. The Dr. asks you if you want to try a radical untested medicine that might kill you or cure you. You’re 50 years old. What’s your answer?

Apparently some clever guys here in Denmark got some desperate emails from some doctors in Spain. They were running out of reagents to test for COVID-19 - they then developed a super low tech and cheap solution 
The test can be done in under 2 hours and it is apparently now in use in Spain.

In that, they mention that they have open sourced it and will put a link to it (it’s not there now)…
The gist of it, is that they simply heat the samples to 98 degrees C to kill everything else but the RNA that they need for the actual test…
