Every state has typically a much higher reporting of negative test results vs. positive. And unless things have changed, tests are reserved for symptomatic individuals. And also I’ve heard this is highly contagious. So in my mind, there should not be such a wide discrepancy between positive and negative results. Maybe @daath or someone can help me understand this ratio. I would expect to see a reversed ratio, but then, I’m not smart.
I honestly don’t think we will ever have concrete numbers. The antibody testing will probably be the most revealing regarding number of persons having contracted Covid19, but I just don’t see that being a mandated test for every person. I think we will see decisions made regarding safety on anecdotal data only, that being the number of people in treatment and I think that will be a “fuzzy” number. I don’t see anyone in the world working from concrete numbers but rather trending indications. I believe even post mortem evaluations of this outbreak will be swags.
give the government a near real-time view of where patients are seeking treatment and for what
Why does this sound dangerously close to invasion of privacy? Sorry, but if I seek treatment for a hemorrhoid, I don’t necessarily think Kushner has a right to know it.
