I checked four of my 10 and they were short about 8ml according to my beakers. The other eight were off too. I didn’t measure them but they were filled to the same level as the measured four. I sent Grant a polite email. We’ll see how he responds.
Mine shipped today it looks like. I only got 3 60s. Hopefully after talking to @SthrnMixer, they were checked before they were shipped. If not, I’ll email him. Even for only 3 bottles, if they’re 5 mls short that’s still 15 mls and if they’re 9 short that is almost 30 mls of flavoring. Kind of a lot for me, considering the biggest bottle I’ve purchased thus far has been 30 mls.
Ha. I actually asked for you JoJo. He said he talked to you today.
FWIW guys, I opened an 8ml Wizard Labs bottle and measured 7.6ml, including the needle tip. 0.4ml is not much, but it is 5% of the total. Those bottles have to be filled to the brim to be 8ml. Anyway, I’m starting to think this problem is pretty common. I haven’t checked any of my bigger WL bottles, but I doubt they lack 5%. I’ve already used from them all.
Haha, thanks. Yeah it was yesterday morning in response to an email asking about my order. That’s it, now we have to check everything, every time! LoL. It’s true what they say—ignorance is bliss.
I was just pointed to this by SthrnMixer, and just from my few times chatting with him I can safely say email him if your bottles have any discrepancy in what they should have. He takes great care of his customers and if there’s a problem, you’ll see that he’ll make it right.
New to selling flavouring worries me. Buying from someone that transfers from larger bottles to smaller bottles makes me nervous. Always worry about if they’ve even been shaken properly before pouring and then getting inconsistent batches. That’s why I usually buy directly from the manufacturers when I can. I ordered from here because its the 1st place ive seen that sells FA flavours in larger quantities. Sounds like they need some different bottles too. Preferably ones that we don’t have to rebottle in order to use them. Guess I’ll keep looking and hope my order is ok. It shipped out today before I saw this.
It’ll still probably get here before my last Capellas order…lol. Placed an order with TFA and Capellas on the 13th. Got the TFA order in 3 days. Still haven’t received my capellas order.
Good morning!
My name is Grant and I am the owner of Nicotine River. This is my first post on ELR, but it comes at a seemingly perfect time seeing as some issues and questions need to be addressed. Before I get started, I would genuinely like to thank you all of you for your patience and understanding. Your inquiries are all appreciated and heard.

My package is late or taking a long time to get to me?
The last couple of weeks (from Thanksgiving to now) have been so demanding because of all the sales and holidays. Generally, if your order is placed before 3pm PST we will ship it out the same day. If the order is placed later in the day, it will go out the following morning. This has not been the case in the last week because the office was closed Wednesday to Sunday of last week for Christmas. All of your orders that were placed during that time weren’t seen until yesterday (Monday) when everyone returned to work. I apologize for the delay, but I hope you understand. I have received a couple of emails in regards to tracking numbers not being updated after leaving the Los Angeles sorting facility. I am working very hard to find these orders. The following link may explain the delay in your East Coast orders HERE. There is a storm brewing and Fedex has admitted to having some trouble. If Fedex/USPS or I can’t find them, I will send a replacement out immediately. -
There is 5 - 10ml of flavor missing per bottle?
We started selling flavors about two months ago and it has been a whirlwind. We were seeing other companies overcharging their clients and that’s what gave us reason to supply these same flavors at prices that made sense. Because all of our flavors are hand poured, it is likely that there has been a very mild variation. I whole-heartedly agree with all of you that this variation should not result in a shortage of flavors. Our short-term solution is changing the 60ml, 150ml and 250ml bottles to 75ml, 175ml, and 275ml. For now, we’ll use the extra space to pour more than the amount specified. The new bottles arrive this week and should temporarily fix the problem. Our permanent solution is this machine HERE that will arrive in 2 - 3 weeks. I cannot stress enough that shorting the bottles was not our plan. I promise this has been merely human error and will get remedied immediately. We definitely make mistakes from time to time, but we will always go above and beyond to fix it. -
The flavor bottles not being ideal or difficult to use!
As soon we receive the new machine, we have no problem changing the bottles! My question for all of you is, “What are the best bottles to use in this situation?” I would love to hear your input on what would be the easiest for you to use.
The discount code for this forum is ELR and it is valid for 10% off your purchases! I will get every issue handled and fixed immediately. Again, I cannot thank you guys enough for your patience and orders! We will be back on track shortly.
Happy Holidays Everyone!
Grant, I’m so glad you popped in here! I knew you were a stand up guy, and as I am the one who posted the discrepancy in the first place, let me just say to everyone here. This man is working very hard to insure that his customers are treated fairly and with respect, that he remains available to answer questions and address issues, and to provide an unrivaled level of customer service. Grant, I appreciate not only your remedying my situation, but also admire and respect the steps you are taking to solve the problem. You are a stand up guy, and service like yours is a rare commodity in our world.
I look forward to doing more business with you moving forward, and I’m proud to be a Nicotine River customer!
I wouldn’t be worried. Frankly I buy most of my flavors from third parties and apart from a few minor issues I have been immensely satisfied. But don’t take it from me, there are countless others here who would say the same thing. I’ve already started using the flavors I got from Nicotine River and they are exactly as if I had bought from the manufacturer. Peace.
Nice to see you hopped on here to handle that for these awesome people. I had no doubt that you’d take care of them and any issues they had. I hope Nicotine river coming here eases some of your guys minds. I’ve gotten asked numerous times this week why they don’t have a presence here and I never had an answer for you guys but there’s one now.
I’m still working on getting flavors together to convey to them to hopefully get a one stop shop for all of us. I know I have more time than they do to gather all the information and I don’t mind doing it at all. This way we can all get a lot more shopping done in one spot. Like I was telling SthrnMixer last night, I forget flavors every time I order and I’m probably a month or so behind in a few flavors that I forget when I’m trying to order and get side tracked.
Anyways, I got way off track again. I’m glad we have a member here now on ELR from Nicotine River. hope this eases some of your worries some of you have expressed to me
Grant, thank you so much for coming here and addressing this. Your attention here means more than you can know. Obviously, human error is gonna happen and the fact that you guys are taking steps to correct it is as much as anyone can ask. Your transparency in all of this has guaranteed a customer in me. I’ll definitely be purchasing more from you guys in the future. I’m glad to see you here and I hope, as time permits, you’re able to stick around.
Thank you very much!
Grant, thank you for this question. I think most here would agree that a dripper bottle with a needle tip would be best. One small enough to make usable when mixing. Many of us mix by weight so when we have needle-tip dripper bottles that makes life easier. Otherwise we’re just transferring the liquid to other bottles we’ve bought so that makes it more expense for us and more space in our mixing lab. My little lab is a spare bedroom that doubles as my office so space is an issue for me and many others alike. As you saw in the photos I shared with you, I transferred the liquid from each 60ml bottle into 2 - 30ml dripper bottles. As for sizes you can get access to at a price that makes sense, I’m sure others here can help point you in the right direction. But let me say that if all you had were 15 and 30 ml PET dripper bottles I think that would be excellent and definitely what most of us DIYers have come to expect. But the suppliers that don’t put into these type bottle will usually provide one with a smaller neck which helps prevent spillage when using/transferring.
Thank you Grant for coming on ELR and explaining your endeavors to make your business better for you and all of us. I only ordered 3 60ml flavors and I’m not going to check to see if there short and I’m not going to sweat it if they are. Every thing you have conveyed to the forum about your businesses future, sounds better than some of the other bulls@#T from some of the other venders on here.
With respect to bottles, I agree with @SthrnMixer that 15ml and 30ml would be ideal. Drippers. Now, I don’t want to make this a cage match or anything, but I think ECX has pretty much perfected offerings…if they have what you want in stock. That said, their bottles due tend to harden with certain flavors over time. I don’t know if this can be remedied.
ECX also does a great job labeling versus the tiny writing on the Wizard Labs bottles. Visible labels really help me to select what I want from my hundreds of little bottles.
Finally, Grant, I didn’t know this post was here but I summarized our second phone conversation covering a lot of the topics in the other Nicotine River thread. Thank you for standing up, admitting the problem, and rapidly moving to solve it. Keep up this level of service to the community and you will have few rivals. I appreciate your calling me while travelling. . .I couldn’t even get on here and post before you responded. I’m happy.
You’re the man Grant. I received a very prompt and courteous email and phone call from you with a solution that I am happy with. It’s nice to see a vendor that cares about their customers and what they think. Because of this I will continue my business relationship with Nicotine River. Good customer service is difficult to find. Thanks for your attention.
Noted my friend! We will move in this direction.
Thank you!
I genuinely appreciate that and Im always here to help!
Happy Holidays!
That could not have been handled better. Thanks for joining up and posting this!
