DIY shopping cart! and a sweetener issue

Greetings all chemists!

Turns out i’m still a relative noob to mixing. I’ve been mainly dropping premixed/single flavours into a gorilla and adding my base.

Location germany

Got the urge to pursue my own tastes a bit and maybe save a penny.

I do have a Cactus/kiwi and a Redfruit from a well german mixer left. Found a Netherland shop that carries a decent variety, unlike most shops i’ve found [key problem was finding Cardamom and Black Tea]:

FA Black Tea (Available alt.s are: INW, TPA, FW,
FA Cardamom (alt. TPA)
FA Fuji Apple (… many for this and other two)
FA Grape White
FA Blueberry

All FA as it felt reliable, but if there are other better options for one of these flavours, would appreciate the advice.

More importantly is the rest:

  1. A decent real mint to complement my Black Tea-Cardamom-Mint goal [so not candyish and coolness is not the important bit]. Options are: FA Peppermint, FA Xtra Mint, FA Spearmint, FA Polar Blast, AtmosL Peppermint, AtmosL Mint, TPA Peppermint, INW Peppermint, INW Mix Mint, INW Fresh mint,INW Cool Mint, TP Spiffy Spearmint, Mom&Pop Peppermint, Insane Spearmint, Insane Crazy Peppermint.

2.a. Do I need something to smoothen/sweeten the aforementioned mix? [note: i am not going for ‘chai latte’ or the like and have been generally averse to yoguts, milks and desserts]

2.b. The least controversial thing to sweeten without changing flavour? The store offers two Sucralose-based sweetners (TPA and the stores own), which i would rather avoid both on safety and coil-life grounds. Marshmallow has been suggested (options: FA, TPA, FW, Mount Baker Vapor), does that also include sucralose or one of the controversial stuff.

idk if relevant, gear as such is mainly DL RTA’s, squonk gear is on the way though. typical power range 40-50w.

appreciate the help, cart been sitting there a couple days and i’d like to order soon

You might try another vendor. Hate to say it…
but they do teas perfect. Im vaping on a matcha green tea atm… spot on!
Black and green teas are perfection and you do not need much at all…
I rarely take mine above .6%

I used to think that too… before I knew anything about flv…
Now I wont touch fa or any other manufacture. What can I say other than I like what I like…

they do offer a lot of their fruits_ looks tasty, particulary the exotic stuff.
no tips on mints and sweeteners?

Stay low with your usage… between 3 bottle drops in 30ml up to .4% for mints and up to .2% for sweetener.

Welcome to ELR.

  1. I’m still looking for a good fresh mint tea myself that doesn’t have any cooling in it so I can’t give you a recommendation :frowning:
If it’s an important ingredient for you, I’d just order a range of 10ml testers from different brands and see which one works best for you. Flavor notes on the recipe side, on the forum, reddit and other places on the www may help you reduce the amount of concentrates you’d want to test.
  2. a) generally speaking, creams are a good way to smoothen out a mix and dampen the harsher notes. There are additives like TPA Smooth or FA MTS Vape Wizard that could smoothen a mix. Before you use those, try your mixes without to see if it’s really needed. They can royally f up a recipe too. If you don’t like milks and yogurts, there’s still a whole different range of creams that make a mix airy, give it texture, sweeten your juice and so on. Not everything is milky or like yogurt.
    b) there are whole threads dedicated to sweeteners with a wide variety of types of sweeteners, uses, warnings and so on. As a beginner, you should read up on it.

FA is a decent brand and has good flavors but just like any brand, they have better and worse concentrates. Most of us use multiple manufacturers. Like Smoky said, Flavorah is another excellent brand. Most people try and pick out “the best concentrates” from different manufacturers, only a few stick to a single brand.

If you’re looking for a good vendor that carries a lot of brands and whole ranges of brands, check out the UK shops. Chefsflavours, Rainbowvapes, Vapable, … great shops, good service and cheap.

thanks for the extended response. much much appreciated.

trying to minimize amount of time i spend on this, taking up too much from work. it took a bit to get to FA, find black, cardamom, etc.

wanted to find a place to order locally, not sure how germans are letting liquid thru customs; strict rules on nicotine and not sure ecig flavours would pass easily/quicly. finally succumbed when i found savevape which says it’s german but has a netherland address. biggest close collection i’ve found. i guess brit would be alright, still EU now.

don’t mind the cool effect of a mint, as long as it is a mint, no candy gum koolada, not for the tea mix.

i’ll keep at it. thanks.

Welcome to the forum. I’m not an expert …
FA Peppermint is the only mint I’ve ever tried, and that’s fine with me for those purposes.

Good info, though, thanks. Those purposes, as in tea’s as opposed to candies?

@BigDisplay THanks. Looks good, nice firsttime discount and lower minimum for free delivery. Alas, failed the cardamom/n test… but i might just divide the orders between different shops. Though i can probably get everything at chefs…

Both have cardamom be aware it is very strong (for me) and I can detect it in a mix at 3 drops in 100ml (YMMV) good luck

Yes, to mix with tea. In fact, I’m going to do a test. Perp I don’t have cardamom …

thanks all
ok so i’m open to breaking my order to two shops_ apparently the one i was on is still pretty good. they carry two cardamom/ns more than chefs which carries nothing. chefs has FLV Sweetness and Black Tea, and Measuring Beakers which i believe would be easier than my darn syringes [stabbed myself last time after the air inside got messed up and i can’t to get it working properly again. gonna also get a blunter needle]

So now there’s even more mint options_: the famed FA Mild Winter included… and the FLV Black Tea as mentioned.

So quick vote?
FLV Sweetness vs TPA/TFA/?? sweetener
?? Marshmallow vs FLV Smooth or both

any other suggested necessities flavours or gear? [i’ve got enough bases and nics etc. syringes and a couple gorillas and a whole bunch of 10mls]

oh, and if anyone knows discount codes for chefs or savevape, it’d be much appreciated
