HHAAAOOOWWWDEEEEE!!! hall ya’ll enjoin this shindig of a house arrest we have goin on? Well, I’ve been gone awhile. it’s all that “PPE” stuff we have to buy to fix your tv remotes!

I have a bona fide question… shouldn’t someone turn off the NSE switch now before it pancakes?

It’s not easy finding information out about N100’s - P100s. N95’s are the craze of the world. Have you ever tried an N95 or N-P100 disposable? I made a comment about using a HEPA vacuum cleaner bag. I was told it would be difficult to breathe through. They’re actually about the same if flat.

I’m looking online now to find out why 1/2 mask respirators aren’t handed out? There capacity to inhale\exhale is an incredible amount easier. Is it style? The reusable respirators can be wiped off or simply worn. Besides, the reusable ones require about 35 seconds - 1 minute of training to use.

I still haven’t found anything out about that. Still looking though.

Doug, why are you so absolutely centric around this damn microbe ? It seems that you have not been infected ? You fix printers in medical offices ? Man, the mind-screw out in the world seems enough to drive one totally nuts ? I hope that you get your head together, my friend. Don’t lose your life to dread !

I’ve been asked to leave and return with proper PPE. That includes an N95 disposable mask. I had a Dr. blow up at me for wearing wrap around safety glasses. I’m not used to being treated like this to fix printers. It used to be low stress. Now I am turning hospital tickets away and getting called asking why.

I wonder it others might be having similar issues. Places where it didn’t matter before have flipped out. And the screwy part of it all is you have to be precise about it. I just want to do my job. I wear more than enough protection. Either I’m scaring the residents and patients or I’m not well enough protected.

I’m getting a little tired of getting scolded by people who haven’t had the safety training for the masks. That and my eye protection. It’s really nuts. It’s not going to go a way much when the state opens up either. I wish it was the microbe that was my problem. It’s more the humans that have no idea.

Yes, people are becoming frenzied from all of the unsettling uncertainties. It’s only going to get worse. I am “retired” on a SSR pittance. Wish that you could get SSDI or SSI or something - but I am well aware that such takes an average of 3-4 years, 3-4 denials and appeals, and an attorney clearing ~33% or more of the dough when one finally collects (in 3-4 years). Keeping one’s head together is essential. Sadly, only those who completely “flip out” mentally (might) be expedited onto SSDI/SSI. So lame !

I’m on SSDI for Parkinson’s and several other problems… some that were exasperated due to the system. I fix printers 4-6 hrs a week? (that’s heavy work). It’s Dr. ordered so I run my own business. I gave up on trying to please doctors with the paper masks. Ive gone to the 1/2 mask respirator. I expect them to balk about that. I’m trying to get a laminated card stating that for insurance purposes I’m required to wear it. I take my time to fix them and get to select when I work. The pressure doctors have put me under during this has been so much it starts my tremors if I’m not careful. The Clonazapam has 2 purposes. It’s an anticonvulsant and a tranquilizer.

I’d give one to the doctors that scold me if it would help back them off. I’ve wondered if people on this platform worry about it? All the hype of them. It’s more of a fashion statement anymore.

Doctors do not have the authority to order a patient to be employed at all. They might try to condition their help upon patient “compliance” with their prissy wishes - but it is unethical to so force you to vainly struggle and suffer just trying to nail a few dollars a day on the average. What kind of people are they, anyway ? You may face the reality of a too small SSDI income financially. Understandable situation. But if the stress effectively “destroys” you mentally (in addition to your existing situations), you should not need the blessings of pompous ass-clowns merely to retain your SSDI (which, once awarded, is fixed - unlike SSI, which requires at least annual re-certifications and a lot more hand-jive). Protect your head !

oh. that’s a long story I was trying to cut short. The Dr wanted me to do something called “work”. Something to get out of the house. This is more my idea. I found this situation where I take tickets for 1-3 hour contracting jobs. I’m my own business. I didn’t have any stress about this until the COVID-19 issues hit. And only then, in the hospitals. I have PTSD from my past. I found out if you don’t take care of that, it gets worse. I’ve told a doctor that during this pandemic. I’ve walked out of a hospital because of a nurses attitude, 2 days ago? (she grabbed a dr, and that was it. sporty safety glasses-goggles aren’t acceptable) I had my hat handed to me about my safety glasses. It’s sooo ridiculous right now.I’m hoping that backs off as the states start to open back up.

The printer jobs were easy, something to keep me from getting utterly bored out of my skull, and I actually enjoy the challenge so long as someone doesn’t expect it done in 15 minutes. People have BOUNCED!!! from this virus. I understand it’s dangerous however, it’s not as dangerous as those who are petrified of it. They’re the ones you have to worry about.
I’m simply befuddled by the way people act since the virus. I understand the medical system is strapped I also understand it can take it’s toll on you worrying you’re on the front line. However, in my whole county only 1k got sick and no one died or got put in ICU or a ventilator. I get re-certified (technically) every 3 years. I don’t know why they did it that way. Parkinson’s doesnt go away, nor does being bi-polar, etc… etc… No one hires people with Parkinsons for W2 work. Workman’s comp liability. fixing things was fun. sort of a hobby.

I see little eventual outcome - other than a very large majority of the U.S. population (eventually) becoming infected. If that is true (and I believe that it is, regardless of “measures”), then the important thing seems to come down to mind and bodily health, living amidst the storm that (may) take any of us. It is a cryptic and complex antigen. It seems to be able to “hide” systemically, and dog (some) persons for many months time. It can permanently damage one’s internal organs. We understand little about it - and researchers will very likely not clinically characterize SARS-CoV-2 in time to respond as is hoped.

Particularly troubling is how many weeks after (asymptomatic) exposure - and the development of antigen-specific antibodies - SARS-CoV-2 is triggering life-threatening syndromes in (some) children. It could well be that adults are potentially similarly vulnerable. The virus (not us) will be “running the show”

I agree. however the protection is out there. It’s not expensive either. You have to be stylish about it though with the expensive paper. I can’t figure out where everyone’s head has gone??? 3M can make more 1/2 masks than N95 paper masks. The reusable respirators can be manufactured all over and I’ve seen some newer novel ideas for them. It it takes 5 years to map it, it can be handled. If people keep their cool about it. That’s going to cause more death than anything else.

meh. You just get to hear the bad things though. You don’t hear about me giving refurbished printers to mom and pop pharmacies, etc…Or I find them things they need. Makes me feel good. These little stores hardly make any money. Autozone and Advance auto trash their printers every 3 years. They call me to let me know they’ve put them lovingly against the fence near the dumpster. I go get them, find out who needs one, get it a maintenance kit for $50 off of ebay then all they do is pay me back for a monochrome printer. Those are the fun things.

All the little stores order stuff from my business accounts so we all save on costs. free shipping over $100. You can add that up fast between 4-5 companies.
