I honestly couldnā€™t imagine not using a scale. All about do what you want to do but Iā€™d go stark raving nuts (I might be already) if I had to use pipettes or a syringe again that way. I do love using one for my nic with that press in adapter.

My scale is on back-order. I ordered one 2 weeks ago. Besides, how else do you measure your stuff into a bottle on a scale?

@anon28032772 I swear, I ordered the scale everyone recommended. Itā€™s on back order. How to you measure accurately into the bottle on the scale though? I canā€™t imagine using graduated cylinders with the viscosity of the VG. Iā€™m still trying to figure that out.

I donā€™t know what graduated cylinders areā€¦ sorry for that.
I mix a little like this

You can put your VG and PG (or premix) in a squeezy bottle with a drip tip or if youā€™re a bit handy, you can do like me and poor straight from your liter bottle. For my PG bottle I do have a dripper insert that once came with such a bottle but VG goes straight from the wide opening and itā€™s all pretty accurate. Sometimes Iā€™m 0.1g above or below but for me thatā€™s well within acceptable limits.
My nic is in a 100ml squeezy bottle with a drip tip.

Sometimes you have concentrates that come in a bottle without a dripper tip. I just poor them over in a 30ml gorilla bottle and label it so I can drip them in my mix.

I put my VG and PG is those squeezy bottles and itā€™s been a life changer on mixing because it simplifies everything. I also use a press in adapter with my nicotine and the 10 ml syringe NEVER comes out of that bottle another simplified solution. Yep, if they come without a dripper tip, they get transferred IMMEDIATELY to an empty bottle.

I could NOT agree more @authormichellehughes. I personally have probably tried every WRONG one there is to try. All leaked, cracked, split, or an entirely other host of issues. I thought, ā€œCondiment Bottle with twist top, sure thatā€™ll workā€. Trashcan !!!

Maybe Iā€™ve got bad luck, who knows, but I can say since I switched (years ago) over to @LiquidBarnā€™s bottles, I havenā€™t even gone through the 4 that I have. They take a LOT of abuse, and keep on mixing.

IMO, not all twist top bottles are created equal. Accept NO substitutes !!!

I used those squeezy bottles in the beginning but theyā€™re either too small and I keep having to refill them or theyā€™re too slow to poor out. They work well for small testers, like 10ml, even 30ml but anything bigger and I find it a hassle to work with. Just give me the big guns for my base liquids.

But in the end, people do as they please. Different people, different tools, different methods. Do what you feel most comfortable with. Iā€™m lazy as fuck, what matters to me are no spills, no messing with transferring liquids (besides some concentrates that come in larger volumes), accuracy, speed and the least amount of cleanup afterwards. At the moment, I donā€™t see any areas where I can improve much on efficiency.

I have 1lter and 200ml and 100mls bottles i find it works better than syringes when using scales

I use the 250ml and 500ml and routinely dose up 120mlā€™s with no slowing or leaking. If I have to mix up 240ā€™s or 480ā€™s then I do move over to a non-twist top jug.

Same sameā€¦

I just bought a bunch of twist lock caps and put them directly on the concentrate bottles. All you need to do is be careful; Iā€™ve had no problems at all. No clean-up, just tighten the cap after meting right into the finish bottle and bammo.

I put twistys on most over 60ml and agreed. If Iā€™m buying them that big, Iā€™m not using 0.01g in a mix.

I can (you can too obviously) adjust the twist on the lid so it greatly reduces flow, if you need to be per-drop precise. Only dropper stuff I use is the MFā€™s which come that way.

Before I started using twist topped jugs ā€¦

Added twist toppered jugs, and a little flow reduction ā€¦

And next thing you know, things were purring right along ā€¦

I guess Iā€™m just picky. I want the nicotine bottle to seal tightly. I canā€™t have that leaking so if they made a cap for the bottle it comes in, that would be good.

I agree @Caped_Conspirathist, tightly sealed, stored in the freezer is the only way to keep NIC IMO. Once you get your big bottles broken down into smaller ones, you can make sure to use phenolic caps, and tape them off with tape, and toss them in a big ziplock bag for the freezer.

Ok, they pushed the scale farther back on the back order. I didnā€™t want to wait another month so I had to pick something else. The one that was back ordered had a range between 500g/.01. The one I got was 200g/.001. I wonder if it will work? I donā€™t mix more than 60mg at a time. I think even if I did 120mg it would do fine? Ideas??

I can still cancel and see if I can get something else but I donā€™t want a cheapo unit. The one I got was originally $135? It was on sale for right around the same price as the scale everyone here recommended to me.
