@worm1 No that’s a good idea! the adhesive from the tape didn’t become an issue?
I noticed with doing it by weight, one of my recipes calls for the measurement to be in thousandths of a gram… Ugh. Yet another thing to spend money on…
no unless for whatever reason u go to remove it
I’m secure in my manhood. Besides, I have women in my house. I’ll get whatever they need. I am sure tape will work for a short period of time which is all @Caped_Conspirathist needs, as his scale will be here in March, I believe he said. However, for me, I am all about volume mixing and I need my syringes to last a long time. Though they are cheap enough that I get some every once in a while and toss the old ones after a while.
@Dan_the_Man, what I need to find is a bottle that’s sealed. I can heat up a 22-24 gauge needle and push it through the plastic. that way I get super fine drops… It’s an idea… I’ve already pulled the needle from an insulin needle but they are a pain to use to get 1u out of.
Yes, I’m a perfectionist lol.
There are a few different type adapters that I sometimes use
The top one works well for 30ml boston rounds. Can get at a pharmacy or amazon
ok, those have a rubber seal so you can use a needle to puncture it without it it running all over the place? kinda like a insulin bottle? you can stick a needle in it and pull it out?
Kinda. You have to use the syringe they supply. Otherwise the hole is to big. I have looked for what your talking about but have been unsuccessful.
the only thing I can think of is gluing a thin piece of rubber over the top of the bottle. The only issue with that is when the needle pierces it, rubber goes into the needle. I think that’s what medicine bottles use. that or silicone. Either way there’s contamination. that’s why I wish I could find a cap that is totally sealed. Heating up a needle to poke a hole in it would make a really small drip mount I think.
Go on amazon and type in syringe adaptor. There are quite a few interesting thing a mabobbers like this one.

or this one
I think this is what you are looking for but I don’t know if it will fit in a boston rounf
I just found this on amazon.
don’t know if that link will work but I think it goes all the way to a 30g blunt tip needle. I think that’s thinner than an insulin needle!
Ok, insulin needles come in 20g - 31g sizes… the kit I posted has a 30g needle!!!
@authormichellehughes, @Dan_the_Man, those look interesting. I want to see what the weight of the bottles with the 30 gauge needles do in drops. They have a diameter of .000079 inches. Thats 7 100 thousandths of an inch!!!
Probably have to warm the liquid up to get the viscosity thin enough lol. I think the surface tension of the liquid alone might defeat the size of the needle.
I couldn’t resist… I had to order them lol.
which one did you order?
It’s on the US Amazon.com. You have to scroll down to read about it because they are trying to sell so many others.
Sorry. I had to step away from my PC for a bit.
Oh ok I see, the same one you posted ealier. Looks pretty nice. The only thing I would wish was different is the length of blunt tips. They look kind of short but maybe that won’t matter. Be sure to let us know how you get along with the kit. I for one would be interested in knowing.
All the trouble people go through to avoid getting a scale that makes their life so much easier.
washing dishes, purchasing new syringes when a flavor gets stuck in them, buying bottle inserts, messing with scotch tape and nail polish, having to store boxes with different sizes syringes, fiddling with the drip tip of the concentrates to get it off or the needle through and getting all those smells on your fingers (or having to use gloves), …
Thanks for keeping me reminded how happy I am with my scales
