Doug Has Questions

I just looked up a recipe. the unit will do it easily at 90ml. if the bottle weighs 20g it will still take the weight. let me see about 120ml and bottle. The recipe I looked at was 20/80. with everything except bottle it came to 145. add 20g for the bottle and it can still do it. I would never mix 120. the most I would do would be 80 or 90ml.

Now, what the heck do you use to get the right weight of the flavor for the scale? what tools to you use?

Then you should be good with that scale. The moment you’ll want to mix bigger, you’ll need another scale. But really, you don’t have to spend over $50 on a scale to have a good one.

@anon28032772, I honestly looked quite a bit. I think I spent 30-40 mins looking and then found this one on sale so I figured. ā€œoh well, guess I get this oneā€. IDK how nice it is but if it works that’s all that matters to me.

So what tools or instruments do you use to get the weights right?

Your scale is a little bit overkill for personal use but it’s always nice to have good quality equipment, whatever the job is. I am sure you’re going to enjoy it very much.

You should get calibration weights with your scale or you have to buy them separately. Then follow instructions to calibrate the scale and you’re good to go.

Liquid Barn has the LB-501. I’ve seen them all around in the 35 buck range.

@anon70102222, yeah, it’s been bouncing all over the place. I wanted to get it from them. that way if it’s broke it goes back easy for a replacement.

Looks like AWS is experiencing backlog from the Coronavirus.

If you need a scale right now, then you gotta do what you gotta do. I’d say order the 501 too.

@SessionDrummer well, I could get the 501 later? I’ve been reading about this unit and its repeatability rates at .003. That’s nice to get a mix right. It does come with a balance weight. IDK. After reading about it, I’m kinda torn lmao.

Amazon has such a fantastic return policy. I have prime so it’s super simple to return it.

@SessionDrummer what instruments\tools\utensils to you use to measure the flavors and juice?

I say when in doubt… just do it! :balance_scale: Even a shitty scale will serve the purpose until you can upgrade to something better.

@mstokens, It’s paid for. It ships tomorrow probably. will be here on the 3rd. They offer phone support, and the thing is actually pretty nice for 64. I’ve been reading about it. You can calibrate it 2 ways. I didn’t pay the full price. That’s why I’m torn too. If I don’t go over 180g then hell…

might as well try it now that I know it will work. Play with it for a day??? lol. I’m gonna get the 501. That is when Amazon gets it in… Ugh.

Sorry… I gotta at least play with the toy lmao. @anon84779643 's gonna blow her stack lmao. I have to admit… that’s always fun to do also lmao

The main thing dude is just get a scale. You’re mixing life will be so much easier and I can assure you that you’ll look back and wonder how you ever got along without a scale. :grinning:
