He understands for those standard flavors he has, at least 2-3 weeks.
He knows the difference on flv at least as of last night.

Fair enough @anon84779643 but as this thread progressed, and with some of the rapid fire posts, I was having a VERY hard time trying to figure out exactly what he WAS doing, or having issues WITH, at certain points.
I think the fact that he was an engineer was actually hurting him in getting started, as it appeared as if he was going in far too deep into things that only worked to confuse him further. This even worked to obscure the fact, that he wasn’t even USING the Calculator, which most assumed he was, which in turn diminished any/all help for him.
He also responded that some things he is JUST now doing, Smoky told him awhile ago, but had not, so that really drives my previous point home, that overloading newer mixers with too much, or indepth/advanced techniques only works to destroy any chances of “easing” into DIY’ing.
NOTHING wrong with advanced mixing tips/tricks, but if you do it too soon, it’s counterproductive.
I’m ANXIOUSLY awaiting @Caped_Conspirathist’s FIRST recipe URL that he drops here, so we can see how he’s doing. If nobody cared, nobody would still BE on this thread, @ 626 posts deep.

I can not even see what he is doing. What he has or has not.
I know he tells me he has zero issues with the ultras, or any juice I have sent him.
He struggles with the standard flavors he picked up. He hasnt made any recipes, as far as I know. I dont work with those, so of course any help you can give him on those flavor types… I am sure he will appreciate it… I really am running out of time to help out on the forum, so know I appreciate the help Everyone is giving him, no matter how many posts it takes.

@Caped_Conspirathist believe me when I say this, many people had some minor issues when starting out. Mixing, the Forums, the OTHER side (recipe side), the whole shooting match. Don’t think you’re alone, in pretty much ANY of the issues you’ve been having. You’re not.
I’ve got your back. I actually was late to work this morning, as I was taking all the screenshots, photoshopping them up, figuring out the text, editing, etc., BECAUSE, I didn’t want you to struggle.
I have NO clue if it made anything clearer, better, … worse ??
DON’T sweat the details, and let those of us who’ve been doing this for a long time tell you WHAT details matter. Don’t look at the whole load as you have to learn everything, all at once, en total. NOT how you have to do it.
As I posted earlier, if no one here gave a crap, or thought you were hopeless (you’re not), then WHY would this thread STILL be running @ 632 posts ??

Do you have ANY questions about the sucky tutorial I posted above ?? Have you been able to (I think you have) make up, and save a recipe yet ?? Is the whole “adding flavors with percentages”, then “scrolling down to see the actual grams for weighing” making sense ?
Honestly Doug, if you try and look at the WHOLE bubble at once, it’ll hurt. One step at a time. How are you making out so far ?

I have an app on my phone that does similarly. It only does %'s though so this will be a nice change, You aren’t throwing things at me I can’t handle. I’m not going to mix my VG and PC. I buy it pre-mixed. I want simple 1-2 flavor fruit mixes. nothing else.

Oh, I had no idea. I don’t do Forums well. I try but I get lost. You showed me how to change it to grams the first time we started talking on the site. I didn’t know there was a save feature to it. I’m going to use it now in conjunction to what I have also. think now I’m ready.

I think you did a fantastic job honestly! It’s pretty clear actually (love photoshop btw. I have V2. It works…). Now that I have it in grams, I can, at least start trying to make what others have created recipes for. I only want the ultra simple things. All the stores and all the things on here don’t seem to focus on a single, fantastic, realistic cherry (js as an example. It could be a crisp apple too).
That or double flavors. There are fantastic recipes here, don’t get me wrong but I’ve actually made some nice 2 flavor ones. I have one that tastes exactly like the heart of a watermelon. Now I can create it and keep the notes on how I do it. I have most of it down. I know when I put it in my vape to test it, the scale drops backwards from where I (tare)ed it. I’ll have to figure out how to adjust it back by adding flavor again.
Everyone hates me for saying it but I can make some kick ass spreadsheets that will help me track it all. I haven’t really looked at the app on the website yet so I’m not doing spreadsheets yet. I want to see what the ELR app can do. If I’m going to do recipes, they have to be able to be followed. Right now, I’m doing it to taste alone (well, I’m adding a watermelon to the double watermelon).
The single watermelon isn’t in the list of ingredients of the recipe I got off this site.
All I can do now is try.

I have some recipes but the last bit of them I haven’t been writing down because they were made with syringes. That last little bit I keep forgetting to write down. They’re good, I just do it by taste at the end. I’ll have to figure out how to record them. That and get used to the scale now.
When I take the mix off the scale to test it, the scale changes and goes a little negative. I keep forgetting to record the weight of the bottle empty. If the unit doesn’t go back to 0 when I remove the bottle, I will have to calibrate the scale again and start from there. the weight of he bottle shouldn’t change so all I have to do is subtract it’s weight and I will have the measurement again of the juice that’s still in the bottle.with those calculations, I can track and see if the total weight adds up.Hopefully it won’t be so far off that I’m back to making adjustments without recording them.
Once I have the measurements, I can make a little larger amount and try it. I’ll mark the weights of all the flavors I add to get it started. then monitor and mark the changes as I go (a little lab work again… lol). BTW, I did get the spreadsheet finished to adjust for juice that I put to much flavor in. I can now dial the mix back and know where it’s at. I haven’t tried this site out yet. If it doesn’t have a way to adjust for putting to much flavor in, I have it covered.
(I know, me and my damn spreadsheets lol. It’s really fun busy body work for me in the evenings.). I know everyone doesn’t want me to make it difficult but this is play time for me!!! OMG its so exiting and fun!!!
I know… I know everyone here likes it easy. I spent a lot of money on this degree. Please let me play with it. doing this is the absolute perfect opportunity for me. It’s like people who do crossword puzzles. It’s my crossword puzzle lol.
I also got into doing this for fun. I had no idea I’d have a mini lab!!! Hell, all I feel like I’m lacking is a centrifuge lmao (I don’t need it for this but boy, it would look so cool with the scale!!!). I guess I gotta get a lab coat…

Once you at least know how the ELR Calculator works, if you work better with spreadsheets, then that’s up to you. I can’t tell you what works for you. I prefer notes to keep my shit straight, and only use a spreadsheet for my inventory, because that keeps me straight.
I’m glad at least that the little tutorial was at least readible. Congrats @Caped_Conspirathist and happy mixing.

I still screwed it up and cant enter the recipe.
I kept good notes on the grams and didn’t pay attention to the %'s
When I try to edit and save
