What I saw didn’t look “completely horrible” (I’m betting he got some assistance at some point), but I did see a few that I could help with (via merges on the “backend”).
I also dealt with the ‘new Artic Winter FLV’ issue and some others under the FLV umbrella (though from what I saw, it looks like I have to go through their entire damned line AGAIN with how much BS and errant entries have been added…since I last had FLV perfect. sigh)
And if those are the cost of helping you FINALLY gaining a foothold in beginning to understand how to use the ELR calculator, then cost be damned!!
You would have spent a lot more on smokes in the same time frame!
In addition to which, your starting to learn one of THE most basic lessons in DIY. Other mixers recipes are literally just that. For them.
Yes, it can help get you something to vape in the meantime (while you continue to learn and scratch the surface), but in order for something to be 100% to your tastes, you have a LOT more to learn (starting with how the calculator here works) before you (in particular) go into deeper waters.
Lastly, take your time. There’s a lot to learn, about what flavors do what, and how long some need to age vs others, and also about which ones are WAY stronger than you expect vs which are way weaker than you expect (and YES, even within the same brand)!
Slow down, try your damnedest to NOT overthink it, and give thanks again for still not smoking when you get frustrated. Because even on the worst day of mixing, you’re still not smoking, and that good sir, is a win!
@Englishguy I did listen. The very first thing Smoky Blue had me do was go there and set it for grams. WAY down at the bottom there’s a save button (I didn’t know that. a lot of sites auto save). It’s quite a scroll too. I scrolled almost all the way to it. Just 1 roll of the mouse wheel more. had I not gone back after I selected grams (again, because I had a reeeaaalllyyy hard time finding the area to begin with I saw it.Some of the recipes did list grams though.
I do tell people. I mean reaalllyyy doooo tell them that when I screw up… I do it on a grand scale.
Thanks again everyone for helping!!! I was massively frustrated at myself once I saw the save button. Stupid things like that really want to make you walk away from it sometimes.
@anon84779643 it was THE VERY FIRST THING YOU SHOWED ME when I got on the site. I thought it auto saved the selection. the save button is way down at the bottom. I ALMOST saw it tooo the first time. 1 more mouse dial roll… just 1 more!!!
If there’s a save button… I’ll screw it up at this point (omg… the dreaded save buttons roflmao). Thanks again @SessionDrummer. It’s not embarrassing to forget to hit the button. What’s embarrassing is to go to that location by accident several times and NEVER find the button.
@Caped_Conspirathist that’s not a problem. I still can’t believe WE didn’t realize you weren’t even using the calculator.
OK, now that you ARE on the ELR Calc, how are you doing ?
All bullshit aside, we can ALWAYS add in the crazy stupid shit later, doesn’t even matter now, just gotta get you rock solid in the calculator.
There is a CHECKBOX called, “Set these base values as default”. If you are like me, and find you are always mixing about the same VG/PG ratio, like for me, 70v/30p, you can CHECK that box, and it will SAVE the size of your mix, the VG/PG ratio, and the target NIC strength as your DEFAULT, so that every time you create a new recipe, it will pre-load all of those values for you. You can ALWAYS change them, but it can make things easier, if you are mixing up a bunch of 10ml bottles, same VG/PG, same NIC, etc.
I haven’t had a chance to play with it. Now that I can see the grams I can, at least begin to try people’s recipes out. Making single flavor ones I will test next. I guess I type in the 30/70 premix I use as the vg/pg values consistantly. At least that’s what I hope
@anon84779643, PLEASE, can we NOT blow Doug up yet !!!
This happened before, and I don’t want it to happen again. I have now spent a GREAT deal of my time trying to get him going here, and I don’t want anything to derail that at this point. I know what you are saying, but Doug does NOT need anything outside the box right now.
